Oh my gosh! Poor Eowyn, having Aragorn see her naked. These guys are all up to no good. :) I wonder what Merry and Pippin are going to do when they ins out about the pipeweed.
Author's reply
Oh, they are going to throw one hell of a fit. Speaking of up to no good, Aragorn's simply delighted with this development. I can't wait until I've got enough to post again!
However, it surprises me that no one so far has thought of what Faramir will think when he finds out that, after all the work he's put in, Aragorn waltzes up and gets himself a littl peep show/ wrestling match!! Hehe, this is going to be fun.

Oh Aragorn was evil...evil! That was just awful. Poor Éowyn, she really can't catch a break can she? Mind you it was nice to see Aragorn get a bit of revenge on Éomer. Still I think he's going to have to make some amends to Éowyn - I thought she handled him remarkably well, all things considered. I would be writhing in humiliation! I sincerely hope that she'll get some revenge on him for that!
Author's reply
I would have been so embarrassed too--not only did he see her, but hey, he tussled with her a bit. Yikes! Poor Eowyn.

"Say goodnight to him for me." Aragorn has an eeeeeeevil streak! Bad, bad Aragorn!
And I do hope we won't be seeing Faramir riding sidesaddle anytime soon. There should be a limit to what he's willing to do for Eowyn. Not that she needs to ride sidesaddle, at least not all the time...
Author's reply
LOL, Eomer's been rubbing off on him. Actually, I can see Faramir perched up in a sidesaddle--sure, it's a blow to his ego, but its not that bad. I'm not sure if he'll actually do have to do it though. Probably some teasing, but not actual riding.
Author Reply: Wait, wait, no comment on the Faramir poem? Crap! Now I'm paranoid! I mean, I thought it was okay.... Gah!

Of course F can cook and sew. In days gone by, these were necessary skills for soldiers in the field.
I have two questions. First, when you describe the necklace, do you have a particular type of stone in mind? Second, have you thought through all the "rules" for mind linking? It sounds as if it could be a complicated concept and internal consistancy generally makes for a better story.
On the whole, long and very satisfying chapter. It was well worth waiting for! However, we are all still waiting for the stuff to hit the fan. Why else would you be running the two plot lines parallel to each other?
Author's reply
I meant cooking, REAL cooking--not just stews or roasts or something soldiery. Same for sewing. Poor guy, he's read a lot of books and he ran out of manly things to learn. ;)
Yes, I did, unfortunately I forgot this second, but I did have a paticular stone in mind dammit. One of those things, if you hadn't have asked... ;)
Stuff hits the fan in this chapter--maybe not what your're expecting, but I thought it made for some good entertainment now and in the future. Aragorn and Eowyn have a fairly good relationship in this story (I'm talking future chapters as well as past ones) and it needs to be built so.....visit the next chapter. :)
Author Reply: The stone is Azurite. It was considered the most potent of psychic stones and the secret of using Azurite was known only to priests. So secret in fact, that this knowledge is now lost.
It is thought to improve all psychic abilities, increase the ability to achieve trances and help bring on prophetic dreams.
Natural Healers use Azurite to help chronic worriers. It is also said to improve creativity and help reach meditative calm.
Healing Properties: Thought to reduce stress, especially worry, panic attacks.
So, obviously I had Eowyn in mind when I chose this. I've seen jewelry--its a pretty, low-key stone that wouldn't call people's attention and make her uncomfortable. I wanted it to be something deeply connected to Faramir (i.e. his mother via Boromir) and unique, so I chose the dolphin. Also, dolphins represent emotions, psychic powers, intuition, dreams, the power of faith. So, double-threat! Eowyn's not going to be able to fight quite so hard. ;)
Also, you're question about the "mind-rules". First and foremost, Faramir controls everything. The amount of attention he's giving his abilities really determines the depth of their "link".
Basically, he can allow her to enter his mind, (unconsciously aiding her) and he can read her at will. Eowyn only feels/hears what he gives her. (I see it as an extension of retrieving your own memories--you think it, it's there) However, the necklace (with all the multi-fold psychic abilities) helps. I hope that wasn't confusing, but that is how I see it. :)

They've got HOW MANY months to go before they get married? These frisky kids are not going to make it to the altar with Eowyn's maidenhood intact if they keep fumbling around under and over the covers. And why do I think that Eomer might decide to visit his sister after he drags Aragorn home from the bar?
Keep updating!
Author's reply
Hey, they can do lots of stuff and Eowyn still be a virgin you know...hint, hint, wink, wink.
Why would Eomer want to visit? It's late and as far as he knows she's still mad at him--but, hey, he's not alone is he? ;) Read the next chapter.

Thank goodness it was a necklace! You are terrible, you know?
Hmmm, drawing....We're not going to have a scene a la Titanic, are we?
Please make a note to Rikki that Eowyn would *not* have to worry about recieving abuse from Rohirric men (Grima excluded). The great thing about the Rohirrim is that they are honest and honorable men. :)
I wonder if Eomer would really have been put off by pipeweed. I mean, Theoden smoked. At least we can presume he did, from his promise to Merry.
Author's reply
LOL--we're really only a bigass boat and an iceberg away are we? Alas, no, he's just getting inspired. There will be drawings later aplenty though.
Eomer's just doesn't want to seem like an idiot--he's never done it, you know the feeling.

Oh my goodness! I think I'm getting as frustrated as Faramir. I hope Eowyn gives the poor man a proper snog really soon.
I liked the description of Finduilas. Perhaps they can go to the sea for the honeymoon?
Loving the story. I hope there's more soon.
Author's reply
I've thought of the sea, maybe I can get them there, but it's a damn long way--at least the distance between Gondor and Edoras, so that's roughly 350 miles to the nearest coastline.
LOL, I don't know about the snogging yet.

Lol! The last exchange between Faramir and Eowyn was great! Aragorn's fight amused me, as did Eomer's thoughts of self preservation. Two kings in a tavern brawl. This is great!
Author's reply
Thanks. I picture Eomer as very practical when it comes to himself-- but not so with his sister.
I think the next chapter between F/E gets funnier.

· Chapter 47: Brawls and Under the Sheets II
I have been reading your story from the beginning and really enjoying it and not leaving feedback. Bad me. This chapter has got to be my favorite so far. Eomer and Aragorn in the tavern with Eomer more worried about his broken nose as he steps in to take care of one of the blacksmiths tag teaming Aragorn in the fight was hilarious. Your Aragorn and Eomer are so what I would imagine them to be. I can just see them sitting there drinking ale and badgering each other on.
I have a feeling that you are going to have Aragorn get his own back with getting Eomer to smoke the pipe. If Eomer has never smoked before, especially Smokeweed, I have a feeling he is going to be horribly sick. I find it interesting that you are calling Aragorn that instead of Ellesar. It shows him as being still the Dunedian while he is out pub crawling with Eomer rather than being a king out drinking.
Faramir and Eowyn. What can I say? This is the slowest dance of love I have ever read, but in its way, I can understand Eowyn's hesitation. Pursued and fighting off abuse from Grima and other Rohirn soldiers must have been very frightening when Theoden was out in la-la land and Theored dead and Eomer banished. She was such a political prize what with her being the niece of the king and the only one left to inherit. Faramir is truly being a saint about courting her in such a gentle manner, though I also think he has a lot of ghosts in his closet also. In a way they are both healing each other. But oh, if Eomer comes back while Faramir is still in bed with Eowyn! Talk about fireworks!
Author's reply
Fireworks indeed, but not yet. Instead, something a little more embarrassing. :)

· Chapter 46: Unpoets and Under the Sheets I
This was just wonderful! Aragorn is being forced to live with the siblings he wished he'd had - and is starting to realise just how annoying they can be. I must admit though I'm siding with Éomer - Aragorn is providing such a tempting target. He should just stop reacting damnit! Every ten year old knows that, and yet the High King of Gondor and Arnor is completely unaware of it. He must be so much fun to bait - and you never know he might end up having a good time in spite of himself.
Éowyn and Faramir - I can't say I blame Eowyn for her response, but (since you know I love your story I hope you won't take offence to this) I'm getting a little tired of her rejecting him and distrusting him - it's in character I know, but there's only so much I can take!
Éomer is going to make Faramir's life hell when he goes to Rohan!
Author's reply
Aragorn is adorably clueless, isn't he? I'm actually going to present his horrid poetry later--straight from Arwen herself, so don't forget! OH, and when Arwen comes to Rohan Eomer will have a gift for her...Aragorn's going to be simply furious! Hehe :D
I'm not taking offence--I have to catch myself all the time from writing her as being more comfortable with him. (i'm a little tired of writing it!) Sorry, but it's gradual however it WILL happen. After all, Faramir's basically out of surprises ;)
Yes, oh yes, Eomer has things in store..... hehe, I can't wait.

"I think I've made love to a woman named Estel"
I don't think there was ANYTHING worse that Eomer could have said. I was laughing my arse off at almost all the bar scenes. There's no doubt about it; you have Eomer down. :)
What in heaven's name is Eowyn up to? She seems more fickle now than anything, but I suppose I'll have to wait until the next update, won't I? :P
I refuse to venture my guess as to what is poking Eowyn.......
Author's reply
That line was my favorite. I cracked up so hard I could barely type it when I thought it up.
Well, Eowyn's fickleness is all part of her character--imagine the hard-headed, wild and strong-willed girl she most likely was BG (before Grima) compared to AG. I want her to return to that eventually, of course, and as Faramir becomes less and less of a threat, the BG Eowyn will shine through more and more. It's gradual and I know it's undoubtedly as hard to read as it is to write because you want her to just be comfortable now. I have to catch myself all the time. :)
Ahh, the poking? Hehe, you'll have to wait.

Emoer and Aragorn were funny and all, but I've got to admit that I was far more interested in reading the E/F parts! In fact, I was getting annoyed everytime you broke away. But I did laugh out loud at the Estel jokes! Great work. Don't make us wait a week for the next installment! :)

Aragorn and Eomer had me howling in this chapter. Poor Aragorn, Eomer is out to get him. Canlt wait to find out what happens next! ^_^

I know, Eomer and Aragorn are hilarious, I was laughing my head off writing it.
damn it, i'm too tired to go on any further. But, I'll have it for you soon I hope. I've got a computer at home now, but no internet, so at least I can write several chapters to post at once.
This sucks, I want to keep typing, but i can't--I'll fall asleep at the wheel. Gotta get internet at home soon! Anyway, read and tell me what you think, I redid the Faramir/Eowyn parts 3 times and I'm still not entirely satisfied but I hope you like them. Sorry about the Aragorn/Eomer and Faramir/Eowyn mini-cliffies, but they had to be done. Very very hopefully it will be in the next 3 days that i update. Meanwhile, i'll be writing at least. :)
Haha, this chapter was just awesome !
It's my first review but wow, this story is great !
With Aragorn's words in the last chapter on how he was thinking about the miles between here and Rivendell , I was hoping you would show love sick Aragorn and you did !! And the chapter title was funny too .. as soon as I read it I knew I was going to get what I wanted ! Haha. And I love Eomer's reactions ! Cannot wait to see the bar scenes. Your Eowyn- Faramir part was good too .. but my preference is moody Aragorn and Eomer !
Can't wait to read the next chapter ! Keep up the good work !
Author's reply
Thanks for reviewing! More moody Aragorn and Eomer. I'm thinking I'll keep dividing up the chapters between them--give both story lines equal time as possible since everyone seems to like the Aragorn/Eomer one a lot.
This is too funny. Somehow, I can see Eomer getting Aragorn drunk. I think it's interesting that Eowyn can hear Faramir's thoughts. Looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's reply
Yes, and what will Faramir be thinking? ;) Drunk Aragorn & Eomer will be awesome in the next chapter--I'm just sayin.
WAAAAHHH!!! This is getting WILD! I mean, besides Eomer dragging Aragorn off to get drunk and into a bar fight, which is hilarious, the idea that Faramir's abilities are not only getting super-strong, but then, rubbing off on Eowyn (maybe because he loves her, he's unconsciously projecting his abilities?) is just getting SCARY!
Valar, I hope you're not going to have Eowyn freak and shy away now.
--Cheers, and UPDATE SOON!

hehe, I can't wait to continue, but not today. :( I have a psych. exam and i'm going riding, and then to complicate things--we had a new foal born today and the mare's VERY low on milk, so the vet's coming out and....long story short--tomorrow I will update. Hope you can wait. :)
BTW, Faramir's abilities and how they're getting away from him will be explained, but later. (i'm thinking gandalf)
