It have been awhile since my last review. I apologize for my silence. Honestly, I have nothing but praise for the last three chapters. I have enjoyed reading them, and I have read all three chapters (71, 72, 73) numerous times. It is very refreshing to see Eowyn's and Faramir's relationship maturing. I have been so eager to see what you have in store for Eowyn and Faramir once they reach Gondor. But, you have written this festival so well that I have been pleasantly satisfied to watch our couple enjoy themselves. I have so enjoyed reading this story. You have really come along way and are developing into a excellent writer. I say this in the hopes that I may one day see an original published work of yours. You are truly a gifted writer. Thank you for sharing your talents. As always, I wait anxiously for your next chapter.

Author's reply

Thank you. I'm blushing. I hope to update in the next week or two. I'll try to work around classwork, I do enjoy writing this story!

gabrielsa · 19 July 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

Gentle author, we miss your story! Is there a chance you will continue soon?

Author's reply

Yes, I've been incredibly busy with the horses on the farm where I live. When I update next I'll have Chapter Four, Five and 74 all at once! I promise I'll write as fast as I can.

Rohirric Warrior · 11 July 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

Ugh, I've been so backed up with schoolwork this summer that I'm only just now getting to read and review this chapter. Love Gaer as always! I mean, how can you not love the guy? I liked that interaction between him and Eowyn... they looked so great together that I'm almost sad she's marrying Faramir. And I like how Eowyn briefly considers what it would be like to have a man of Rohan, like Gaer, as her husband. But of course, Faramir deserves to have her. Gaer I'm sure will find some woman he'll be equally crazy about. Hopefully soon. I like that Faramir is taking Thorn to Gondor. Hmmmmm, first Gaer, then Thorn... Rohan is really growing on Faramir, isn't it? I'm not surprised; it's a fantastic place. I wonder if Faramir will even go so far as to take a chunk of the land with him? :) Well, anyway, I can't wait to read he next chapter. :) Oh, and by the way, I am *really* missing those links you had up, like to the dictionary and armor sites. Any chance you might put those up again?

Author's reply

Your links are back up. :) Hee, I know, Gaer would have been great for Eowyn. However, he'll get his compensation for not being her man in the next chapter. :D You'll see! As for the next chapter, I don't know if you're reading the beginning or waiting until I'm done with all of it, but I'm updating Chapters 4, 5 and 74. Hopefully soon.

ania · 10 July 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

Great chapter:) Faramir with Thorn was absolutely wonderful, I'm glad they finally understand each other well and have so much fun being together. I have but one small notice: if our sky (European I mean) is any indication as far as I know it's rather impossible to see simultaneously Canis Maior, Cassiopeia, Aquila and Orion because some of them are visible in winter and some in summer. But none the less I enjoyed this chapter very much and please update soon, I'm so curious about that danger that is to come and make Faramir and Eomer real friends.

Author's reply

Huh. I looked on several websites that listed those constellations in a European sky and all fell under the heading of August. Since there were no dates, I assumed they would be visible during August and not just the very beginning or the very end...but apparently not. I'll make a note to correct it. Thanks!

Ice Queen · 27 June 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

Update! Update! Update!

Author's reply

Soon as I can. It'll be 3 chapters this time, 4, 5, and 74. Hope that makes up for the delay!

halewyn aredhel · 27 June 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

This is a terrific chapter (as usual)! I like that Faramir got to be a champion and maybe improve his standing in Eomer's eyes. Also loved the scenes with Gaer and Eowyn. Can't wait to see Gaer in Minas Tirith...

Author's reply

Me either. :)

Madame Marsh · 25 June 2005 · Chapter 65: A Breakthrough

Well, so long as Faramir continues to provide me with quick fixes to all my camping problems, I'm willing to help out his betrothed with the Ranger foot problem. An old recipe to rid oneself of calluses and rough spots on the feet is to take slices of bread, pour vinegar over them, leave to stew for an hour and then place the soggy slices over the affected areas of the feet. I kid you not- it actually works. I must have stared in horror for a full thirty seconds at my grandmother when she suggested this, but my feet are quite smoother now. However, as this does make your skin much softer (it's the acid in the vinegar), I wouldn't recommend Faramir or Aragorn set off on another walking adventure for a while as it will take a few days for their feet to readjust without leaving blisters. Alternatively, and this is a more drastic method, they could re-marainate the bread and cut up onions into large rings. They would then take the onions, place them on the bread and then lay the bread slices on their feet, with the onions close to their skin. Slipping a sock over all this, they'd sleep with the concoction on for the night. As Faramir has twenty years of walking to his credit and Aragorn has over half a century, I think a few repeats of the latter treatment might be necessary. Just remind them to throw away the socks and clean the bed linen in the morning- the stuff just reeks! If anyone needs natural beauty methods- I have a load available. I think I even have a recipe for shampoo and deodorant that Faramir could come up with... And when exactly are the Rohirrim going to figure out that Faramir is already making a grand gesture by even coming to Rohan? As Prince of Ithilien, he is of almost equal rank to the King of Rohan and combined with his title of steward, he may even outrank evryone except the King. It would not be a breach of protocol for him to await his bride in Minas Tirith. Instead, he's come, abased himself (and yes, part of it was in order to secure Eowyn) and tried to accomodate Rohirric custom. When is Gaer going to figure this out? That he can take offence at Faramir's words in comparaing the written to the sung, but that Faramir could have taken offence to just about everything done or said to him since he set foot in Rohan? I suppose I think that it's time for the Rohirrim to recall that, if they love their lady so much, they'd do best to remember that they ensure her husband's ill will by their behavior. and that the husband's ill will can easily translate into their losing her forever... They're a bit thick sometimes, aren't they?

Laura · 15 June 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

I absolutely adore this story. Late last night when I saw the update, I actually squealed. This chapter was just beautiful. I felt myself grinning just like Faramir. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us.

Author's reply

I adore this story, too. :) Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been so busy with the farm. You are very welcome and thank you for sharing with me! I love the feedback.

Elendiari22 · 14 June 2005 · Chapter 73: Champion

You have me grinning like a fool with this chapter. After all of the angst and uncertainty, it is so wonderful to see Faramir happy. I love the way he burst in to Eowyn's tent and giggily told her that he won, and how happy he was to play with Thorn. The Rohirrim pulling him around and entering him in contests had me laughing aloud. This is a man who deserves happiness, and I'm so glad he's finally got it! And I don't know how many times I've said this, but I love your Gaer! He amuses me to no end, and I love his sweetness and devotion to Faramir and Eowyn. He's almost canon now, in my mind. The bit in the tent, too, where he and the others were teasing Faramir about Eowyn was so typically male that I had to laugh. :) Eowyn's dream was interesting. Is it a sign of the future? And was that Boromir's ghost the ladies saw? I want to know more about this, and about the other shades of Men that Arwen saw in Minas Tirith. That would make a great ghost story. Nice bit about the fires; do I sense any foreshadowing? Hmm. This is a brilliant fic; I can't wait for the next update!

Author's reply

Sorry for taking so long to reply! I love this chapter the best, I think, the payoff for Faramir is so great and he's so very happy and it will only get better. The poor guy, he's not going to know what to do with himself. Oh, I love Gaer, too. He's going to be more predominant in the next chapters and later, too, as he's coming to the City...hmmm, do you think it'll be a bit hard for him to stay behind with Faramir and not take the opportunity to escort Eowyn? Of course Eowyn's dream is a sign of the future. And, yes, it was foreshadowing that you sensed! Poor Faramir, is all I'll say. But I think he'll show something very brave and strong to Eomer and the Rohirrim and come out all right in the end. I did promise a happy ending, didn't I? That would make a great ghost story, wouldn't it? Hmm, maybe after this fic...and Eomer's fic...I'll have time, lol.

ania · 6 June 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

Hey, I love your story, it's really wonderful! I'm not very good at writing reviews because English isn't my native language so I usually don't leave them but I wanted to ask you where are the chapters 4-25? Are you rewriting them or something? Or is it just my computer being crazy again? I can see only chapters 1-3 and then 26-72. And I think the number of chapters when I first found your story was 73. Am I wrong? And if not where is that chapter? Please, answer me, I'm dying to see how will this story end. And BTW I think that man as noble and honourable as Faramir would really restrain his desires and wait till his wedding night with some things.

Author's reply

Oh, sorry, chapters 1 through 25 are rewritten and posted as Chapter One, Two and Three. I'm rewriting all of the pre-Rohan chapters. That's why the number of chapters has changed from 73 to 53. LOL, I was unaware that so many people had strong feelings about Faramir and waiting until his wedding night. I assure you, he is waiting and I apologize if I've offended or something. I really was unaware.

halewyn aredhel · 1 June 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

Very nice revision. I'm glad that whole Imrahil plotline is gone. I loved the introduction of Lothiriel, and Eomer is, as expected, completely clueless and exactly as boorish as I expected! I was a little surprised at your Lothiriel though. I always thought she'd be a pretty sensible and tough sort, growing up in a house full of men...the sort of woman who'd impress Eomer. Still, the exchange between Eomer and Lothiriel was a lot of fun to read. It's going to be fun when they meet up again and he realizes who she is!

Author's reply

Frankly, Lothiriel is tough and all that. She was trying to impress him, hee, something Eomer wouldn't have guessed if she'd come right out and said it. She was nervous and extending herself when all she really had to do was calm down. She'll come again in another chapter, but i'm not sure for how long. Obviously he will have no idea of who she is later, so he can't interact with her too much. Even Eomer's not that slow! :)

Raksha The Demon · 1 June 2005 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two

A long and interesting, if slightly disjointed chapter. Very typical-Faramir that he should notice the ragged, thin condition of the stableboy and want to do something to help - I hope this won't be forgotten. Loved Aragorn's flight from the Council and drafting Faramir to 'save' him from red tape by dealing with the Councillors. The proper management of Councillors is something Aragorn will have to learn; by law I don't think he needs their approval, but he's obviously still adjusting to the Kingship. I don't understand how his Seal vanished - surely Faramir would have found it before the coronation and Aragorn would have known to keep it safe...And it's very life-like that the same Councilmen who followed Denethor's lead in despising Faramir now seek to curry favor with him even more than the new King. And Enter Lothiriel! Interesting that she's got dark brown hair and eyes. Genetically she's Numenorean/Elvish; and, according to (I think) UNFINISHED TALES, will give Eomer a son who strongly resembles black-haired grey-eyed Imrahil. I'd always envisioned her as physically, a smaller and prettier female version of Faramir...I wonder how a pampered little lady like her will adjust to life in Rohan...Though I imagine the Rohirrim will enjoy her plays if she can adjust them for a somewhat different audience.

Author's reply

No, it won't be forgotten...this time around. ;) Well, that's simply how my Lothiriel was visualized and very strongly so that I couldn't change her. I want her to have some mental abilities, per the elven blood. She's not telepathic like Faramir, but she is an empath and even though she is angry at Eomer, and rightfully so, she does also pity Eomer because her label of "mouse" is correct at the moment. She was trying to impress him with all that nonsense and mystery, notice she mentioned her cousin twice? It was an attempt to link herself to Faramir, an important and impressive figure and one she falsely assumed Eomer liked. When Lothiriel looks back to Eowyn in the Houses she realizes Eowyn is Eomer's sister. I loved having her write plays--it's both very cultured and very bold of her to rewrite history or write her own stories. I want her to be very outgoing, willing to try new things. She's well-educated like to Faramir, but not as able to use this education like he has in daily life, guessing with hobbits he finds, etc. I think she'll adjust to life in Rohan nicely, especially with Eomer wrapped around her thumb. I'm sure Eowyn will go back with her for a bit to get her settled.

halewyn aredhel · 27 May 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One Revised

Wow. I always thought your original introduction was a little too short. It's great that you had a chance to rewrite it, and I like what you've done with Eowyn's uncertainty over her feelings for Faramir and fits well with the rest of what you've written. I'm kinda hoping you fix the creepy scenes with Imrahil and Eomer too!

Author's reply

Yes, weeelll, let's just agree to never speak of that with Imrahil again, shall we? I'm rewriting or at least editing and adding to everything pre-Rohan and I don't even know what that part was about, I hate it and I'm deleting it with a vengeance the moment I get Chapters 11-10 rewritten. Hee, Lothiriel appears in Chapter Two (rewrite) and has a little conversation with Eomer. Poor guy, he doesn't know quite what to make of her. She's a little firecracker. Ah, these condensed chapters make it feel so free in here...I can write ten more chapter's worth now just to get to where I was! :D

Anonymous · 27 May 2005

I love this story . . . it is the ONLY one I've ever read that deals with Faramir's mental gifts to the degree that they appear in LotR -- after "The Forbidden Pool" it seemed painfully obvious that he was what we would call telepathic, but it's never really been addressed. One question: what is up with Imrahil? Faramir is his sister-son and by all accounts they seem fond of each other. Also, while Imrahil, as Prince of Dol Amroth, outranks Faramir, as Prince of Ithilien, as Steward of Gondor Faramir is second only to the king. What on earth are Imrahil and Elphir going on about?

Author's reply

Really, All for Her is the only one you've read? Heh...that's awesome and to think I did all that on a whim. I confess I haven't read a great deal of Faramir fanfic. You'd think I would have, but no. I don't like to read other stories while I write because I'm afraid of accidentally stealing from them and I haven't read fanfiction since I began this one. Yeah, Imrahil, well that's just getting right out of there. I'd erase it from your brain if I could! Don't pay any attention to these chapters, I'm totally rewriting and editing the crap out of them so they are actually good this time. :) ...I assume you noticed the terrifyingly sheer drop-off of quality between the rewrite and the original. Heh, I didn't know what I was doing for a while there. Anway, expect the rewrite for Chapters 11 to 20-something around Wednesday. I promise they'll be much better than the ones posted now.

Lady of the Wood · 26 May 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One Revised

Good for you for having the courage to revisit your work. However, I'll have to wait to read it. I'm following your original story flow and want to read the completed story before I revisit and compare differences. Looking forward to the next chapter. LOTW

Author's reply

So this is just a tease, then? I'm about halfway into the next chapter. You're going to love it, I'm about 8000 words in and I'm either laughing or hardly able to write without taking a breath to go, "Awwwwwww!" every two minutes. :D It's a cute one.

Raksha The Demon · 26 May 2005 · Chapter 1: Chapter One Revised

It's been a long time since I read your first chapter; but I think this version is much better. I like that Eowyn isn't at all sure that she loves Faramir; since she never actually said so ROTK, it makes sense that she hasn't yet fallen totally in love with him, is just attracted to Faramir but doesn't know him very well. And her doubts are well-delineated, she is very uncertain in the brave new world of Shadow-free Rohan/Gondor and is practically clueless as to romantic love and sexuality as well. The Eomer/Faramir confrontation is excellent. I really loved it when Faramir pushed Eomer's hand away from Eowyn; he wouldn't put up with what he saw as Eomer's bullying his sister. It's probably just as well that Faramir doesn't speak the tongue of Rohan at this point, though, or he'd probably have ended up fighting Eomer... I wasn't sure why Faramir's mention of building a home in Emyn Arnen frightened her so - she's managed Meduseld at its worst, under Grima's gloomy sway, and surely knows what is involved in home management. Or does she fear she'll be shut away at the hearth in a gloomy hall again, not understanding that Faramir is giving her a chance to have a say in her role there, what kind of home they'll make? If you are going to revise more of the pre-Rohan chapters, I will say that I wasn't wild about Eowyn's escapades with the hobbits and Shadowfax. (not to mention a rather sinister Imrahil out to grab the Princess of Rohan for his son -if I remember right - at his nephew's expense!) Merry and Pippin worked very well in this chapter, though.

Author's reply

Trust me, this version makes the old one look like crap...which it totally was. :) Oh, yes, Faramir has more of a spine in this rewrite, which I really like. I want to show he's very conscious of his manners, but not cowardly. He won't stand for any injustices to others, but he might for himself as of now, just to keep peace. Of course that all changes in Rohan. :D I'm revising all the pre-Rohan chapters and probably going over everything from then on just to make sure there are no places that don't fit or whatever. I've started and just about finished with the rewrite on Chapters 11 to 20-something, the disk screwed up so I didn't get all the way to 25. Oh, god, Imrahil....can we just never speak of that again? It's deleted from my computer and the moment I update it will be from this site, so it's about two days from being gone for good. I have no explanation, I was on crack or something. Anyway, I've replaced it with a sweet Lothiriel/Eomer moment that I hope introduces her character.

halewyn aredhel · 23 May 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

I'm glad we finally got to see Faramir the archer...and a little bit of Faramir the showoff too! I'm glad you wrote that bit from Eomer's POV. He seemed suitably impressed! :) I think I've said before that I love your Eomer. I was very touched by Eomer's sudden realization of how lonely his life is. [Enter Lothiriel. Stage Left].

Author's reply

Hee! I think I'm in love with Faramir the show-off. He might have to do more of that to impress the Rohirrim. Wow, this story seems so short now to me, so near to the end even though I know I have a long way to go. I can't wait for Lothiriel and Eomer to meet. :)

Lady of The Wood · 23 May 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

Ah Faramir, my Robin Hood! It's good to see you again. I always had this image in my head of Faramir as being like Robin, out in the forest with his bow and wearing Licoln green. The archery scene was great. I kept expecting Faramir to spilt an apponent's arrow in half and Prince John to be cursing from the side lines. Excellent! The dancing lesson scene was very well done. I could completely imagine the two of them as they danced. The romance between them was lovely. Thanks! :) I'm a bit worried about what happened with Eowyn at the river. It better not be Grima the scum bag! I'd hate to see her get scared after she's finally beginning to heal. However, the bit with the boys as her guards was very cute. I also liked the bit with Eomer and Faramir at the table. I'm hoping for some real bonding between those two once Eowyn leaves. Faramir's got to stop letting Eomer know when he accidentally reads his mind! It's not of the good. Poor Faramir. I think he wants to stay to bond with his new "family" ie Eomer. I suspect this is the free-est Faramir's been in many years and he's learning to enjoy it. I hope Eomer listen's to him when he speaks of danger. Gandalf wasn't one for kidding around. Thanks for the quick update and good luck with all the new foals. I'm so jealous of you getting to be with all of them.

Author's reply

I loved writing that...I really hoped it wouldn't seem too cheesy. I actually have to confess I played an online archery game that had realistic way to use the necessary angles and force for a while just to see what Faramir could possibly do and the up and down shot was VERY difficult. Heh, he really didn't know if it would work. But my favorite part was Eowyn running down to Faramir, it was just a wonderful moment. And the other archer simply leaving the field. Ah, the whole thing was great. I think Faramir's reasons for staying are many: fear of his future, love of his freedoms in the Mark, love of the sense of family he now receives from Eomer and Eowyn, and knowing that if Gandalf said something about danger, there would probably be some. Maybe he thinks that he has a part to play in this danger and that if he leaves lives might be lost, things go awry that he could have prevented. That would be a reason for staying, I think. Oh, the foals, they are so cute! I wish my farm would update their website on a regular basis with baby pictures. We just had the fifth born yesterday and it's a colt! So far he looks to be a nice, flashy bay with a very sweet, intelligent eye. That's the fourth colt this season, and lol, that's four too many! Colts are trouble ;)

Rohirric Warrior · 22 May 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

One other thing; What were Eowyn and Arwen doing while they were away from the guys? You know, before the archery contest?

Author's reply

Talking herblore, medicine with some of the women of the Mark. They'll discuss it later. Arwen was correct, Eomer would have been bored senseless. :D

Elendiari22 · 22 May 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

Let's see, where shall I begin? I love the dancing in this chapter; I ended up putting on Irish music to get a proper feel for it all. Faramir is just the sweetest thing. I loved the archery contest; that last shot was really daring, and very well written. And him teaching Eowyn how to dance! That was too cute. What does he need to prove, though? I remember hearing a hint about a fire, so maybe he's staying because that hasn't happened yet? I hope to find out soon! I'm desperately curious to see what the lads asked of Eowyn. I love how she uses them as her guards, and how proper they were with her. I'm curious to learn what was in the bushes, though. Somehow I doubt it was just an animal. Gaer, as always, is a gem. I'm eager to see Halorl again, though-when are we going to get to see him again? I loved the end of the chapter, with the dancing. This is a great story; I can't wait for the next update!

Author's reply

Ah, but if I tell about the danger and the fire, it wouldn't be as suspenseful, would it? I think Faramir stays for many reasons, not just one. Maybe because he was warned of the danger he feels it is his responsibility to stay and help, or perhaps that if he does not stay there would be dire consequences. After all, what Eomer considers danger would differ from what Faramir does, wouldn't it? More lads in the next chapter. They're so cute, I can't leave them behind! Halorl comes in fairly soon. If you'll remember, he led Faramir off on his "test" to return to Meduseld, but Halorl didn't ride back to Edoras, he rode in another direction. He had duties and he's near finished with them. he comes back just in time to see how Faramir has fit in and I think his take on it will be a good contrast.

Rohirric Warrior · 22 May 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

Wow, that was all just great! There really wasn't anyone trying to catch a peek of Eowyn, was there? And poor Eomer.... But Eowyn, making that comment about women not wanting him and him not ever having sons. I know she was being playful, but had she known what he was thinking she would know how utterly cruel that sounded. Faramir was pretty impressive with that bow. You're right...I can't see Eomer ever doing something like that. Though, I'm not quite certain....what is Faramir trying to prove by staying? He says he's not staying for Eowyn's sake... is it because he's free from his own duty for a while, or is it something else? Whether he wins the respect of the Rohirrim or not (Which I would think he would have), what difference would it make in the end? Oh well. Gaer, as always, is classic! But where is Halorl? We haven't seen him in a while. Anyway, good luck with the horses, and I hope you update soon. :)

Author's reply

I don't think Eowyn realizes just how her brother feels yet. She will, though. Hee, Faramir is great with that bow. That was probably the one thing he was really good at and he knew it. Well, the lack of respect would make a difference every time he visited Rohan, or it could even trickle down to his children. Obviously Faramir is building a strong, close relationship with Eomer and his country. I think that they will go back and forth and stay a while in each other's lands, so it's all very important. Faramir is thinking of the future here. Halorl soon. He's going to show us just how Faramir has changed by the time he comes back into the story. :)

Raksha The Demon · 22 May 2005 · Chapter 72: Dance

"Faramir was not in charge in the Mark, nor beholden to anything or anyone within its boundaries. In the City that would change drastically, he would be a Prince again with duties and great charges; a Lord called upon daily. And all this with a wife, my sister who will push him still forward in her desire to accomplish things of greatness… he knows that as well. " Good point, that Faramir and Eowyn's relationship might be more difficult when he has heavy responsibilities and can't spend as much time with her. I hope though, that Eowyn won't be a nagging wife - Eomer's thought about her pushing him forward in her desire to do great things has me worried. But this is a great chapter! Happy Faramir and Eowyn dancing and getting closer! And how about that archery display - he shoots, he scores; woo-hooooo! Also, Faramir is learning how to verbally handle Rohirrim insults; which is good. The use of the word "saccharine" seems a bit too modern for my taste, otherwise; this chapter was on point all the way.

Sitaray · 17 May 2005 · Chapter 71: Festival

Oh my god...this is such a wonderful piece. I'm new, and I've never read any Eowyn & Faramir pairings before, but this looked interesting so I had to. It's taken me almost 2 weeks, but I've read everything now and I love it. I can't wait to see what happens when Eowyn leaves. I hope that she finds herself on this journey. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter. Wonderful job :) Nita

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm updating today and this time the format isn't doing that horrible back and forth thing, so hopefully you can enjoy it better.

Rohirric Warrior · 14 May 2005 · Chapter 71: Festival

This chapter is beyond great! I'm sorry for not reviewing sooner; I read this chapter as soon as it was posted, but had to go to work right afterward. Then I kept forgetting.....sorry. But like I said, this was all spectacular. Faramir keeps getting closer to Eowyn as well as Eomer. I wonder how it is all going to work once Eowyn leaves... the suspense of that moment is killing me. :) Swordfighting with Eomer.... Yes, I suppose men would lose on purpose. However, if I was Eomer and had lost to a knight, I'd make the man one of my personal guard. That would seem the best place for him. :) And archery.... Nothing is ever said of Eomer's archery skills, so that's up for debate, but Legolas does say in TTT that the Rohirrim have some good bowmen after their own fashion. No doubt Faramir would be better, but I'm not counting on Eomer being absolutely terrible at it. Unless, of course, you wish him to be. :) I probably would have had much more to say if I reviewed right after reading.... but anyway, I cannot wait for the next chapter to be posted, as always. :)

Author's reply

Well, I would think that if Eomer is as good with a blade to be comparable to Aragorn at Helm's Deep that he would have concentrated on the sword and not spent as much time with the bow. Heh, we can't all be good at everything! Anyway, I've used that thinking in this story. Eomer's not bad, but he's definitely better with a sword. Faramir is much better with a bow, don't grey-eyed people make the best sharp-shooters? I think Faramir is the middle-earth equivalent of that. He's got great aim.

Lady of The Wood · 11 May 2005 · Chapter 71: Festival

Oh wilst thou leave me so unsatisfied? That was a very sexy chapter with tons of fore play but no resolution. When oh when? I ask. I am reading this for more than the romance...really! Ok fave bits. I loved the scene with Eomer and Faramir when Eomer welcomes Faramir to the family. That was really well done. I've been waiting for that bit for quite some time. I also liked Faramir remembering about singing with his Father. Poor Denethor what did turn him against his son? Finduilas' death, the seeing stone? I'd love to know although I know that isn't a focus of this story. I also liked the scene in the boat (big shocker there!) although I was waiting for them to pull up to some grassy bank for a little while. ;) I'm anxiously waiting for Eowyn to tell her brother and Faramir about her trip to Minas Tirith. What's Faramir going to do when she leaves? Your chapter made it pretty clear that Faramir's time in Rohan is coming to an end. Doesn't he have a job to get back to? He's already doned his old clothes. I'm glad yo didn't spend too much time on Arwen in this chapter. She's been useful to the plot but I don't find her character terribly interesting. Just a personal preference. Thorn on the other hand...! Love him. I hope that Faramir gets to take him home. Looking forward to more chapters. I'll be your done school now? So does that mean we'll get more frequent updates? Oh please oh please!

LOL, sorry but I've been asked to keep the sex until the wedding night. I know, it's a wait, but won't the anticipation just kill you? :) Eh, Arwen is Arwen. I never thought her character was hugely interesting in anything I've read (I'm very sure there are some writers who make her so!) but I try to at least have her serve a purpose. Oh, more Thorn in chapter 73. I'm not sure if Faramir takes him or not. I would have updated sooner than this but I've been incredibly busy. It's breeding and foaling season on the farm I work on, so you can imagine with 47 animals that I've got my hands full and we've only had four of the ten expected foals come! I'll try and update soon, this chapter was very fun and the next will be just as or more. :)
