Ailsa, This was fabulous. A lovely story, I think you nailed all three hobbits and their relationships to Frodo, each other, and the Shire in general. And kudos for an original concept - I've read lots of stories about Sam, Merry, or Pippin (or some combination of the three) missing Frodo, but never venting that missing through the medium of a letter. And once again another terrific chapter. This whole story was wonderfully well written and you pegged the hobbits perfectly in very few words. There are not many people who could do something like that so well and make it so enjoyable. Congratulations on a wonderful work of fanfiction! I look forward to reading the rest of your work!

Awww! A great chapter, I think that you truly nailed the heart behind Sam and Frodo's friendship, as well as nailing Sam's feelings about Frodo going away to Valinor. Good job!

Dear Pippin...I hope he realizes soon that Frodo left because he loved him, not because he didn't. Perhaps Pippin could nip down to the Havens and send the letter along with the next White Ship... You write so sweetly; I have found yet another terrific hobbit writer.
