I still read, and still love, this story. It's one of my favorite fanfics ever.

shirebound · 12 April 2013 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

I needed some hobbit comfort tonight, and made a beeline straight for this story. I love it so! I hope you're doing well, my friend. *hugs and snuggles*

You have quite the gift for writing adventuresome hobbits! I had a smile on my face all through reading this, especially at the idea of Pippin's righteous indignation at the thought of Aragorn in Arwen's room, 'with the doors closed and everything!' *G* And the image of all those people (Gandalf! Arwen!) drunk was just priceless. Thanks for sharing. =)

shirebound · 25 September 2006 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

I seem to be in dire need of fluff this evening, and this is one of my very favoritest 'sweet' stories. :D

Queen Galadriel · 11 May 2006 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

*giggling* Oh, oh, I love it! LOL! Frogdom...*way* too much alcahol in those sweets! *snort* And of all things for Pippin to do, that was really impertinent! But he didn't mean any harm, and I'm sure with those eyes of his, all of Rivendell forgave him...eventually. Hee! :) I feel sorry for Frodo, getting so drunk and not even realising it, but it *was* funny! And the end was so sweet, with Elrond's gentle care of Frodo. But the last line tops everything! LOL! Too true, too true! God bless, Galadriel

“Well… Merry keeps making those moon-calf eyes at Estella Bolger, and Sam has his Rose –" Cute! And also proving that Pippin can be very observant :)

smaugs_mommy · 13 September 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

I think I read that one twice( and will still read it many many times whenever I need something to cheer me up;)). I wonder why I never left a review. Or did I? *checks once more* No, didn't. I enjoyed this a lot. Thank you for this story.

bunnytggr · 11 July 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

Oh, budgie! Aragorn was *so stern!* with Pip. I love it when Aragorn is stern. *melts happily* This was so funny and cute. I enjoyed it immensely. Naughty Pippin...he shouldn't have made Aragorn mad.

I love all your work, but this one is special to me for one reason. I loved seeing Frodo lose his halo, even if it was without his knowledge or consent. He's a hero of course, but he's also a hobbit, and I truly enjoy the moments given to us all by fanfiction witers like you, when he's allowed to act like a hobbit for a little while. Does that make sense? I think I'm a bit obsessed. as I told my friend the other day, I had to wait until I was nearly sixty to become a "Fan Girl". Better late than never, I suppose. If it hadn't happened, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to read stories like yours and those written by Shirebound, Elwen, Baylor, Jodancingtree and many others I've learned to love. Please keep writing.

I don't know about the destruction of the One Ring leading to the downfall of the Three and the decline of the Elven Realms. I reckon two little hobbits probably contributed considerably to the collapse of Rivendell! The whole serene purposefulness of the Last Homely House has been turned on its head - it's fantastic! And it's not even as if they mean to do it!

melilot hill · 23 June 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

That was just brilliant. It really made me laugh! Frodo grinned up at him, eyes sparkling. “I should dearly have loved to seen Merry and Pippin as frogs. Just for a moment or two.” Elrond laughed softly and looked over to where the young hobbits were taking their leave, bowing to Gandalf and his foster son. “Do not despair, Master Frodo. You have a long journey ahead of you, and somehow … somehow I think you may well have the opportunity.” Now I'm expecting a story about this, of course ;)

Oh, that was hilarious! Thank you so much for adding another chapter! That was just the right thing to read for breakfast (with the tea set at a safe distance away to protect the computer screen) :-) Sam was marvellous, as always. Protecting his master when he thought him asleep, then trying to ensure that Merry and Pippin would not go unpunished. One of my many favourite scenes was Merry and Pippin trying to get past Sam while Elrond gave Frodo a lecture about the advantages of his tonic. That one had me laughing out loud! But Gandalf wasn't bad either. A very vivid display of what could happen to those who ignored Gildor Inglorion's warning: Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. (especially the quick to anger part). Hmm, I fear I could cite the entire chapter for favourite scenes ... so I'd better stop now. fliewatuet

OMG! I was laughing so hard my husband came back to see what was so funny! I thought the story was finished the first time, but this is hilarious!!! Hungover Frodo holding his cousins by the ears--(snort...wheeze...chuckle...tears) It's been a *long* time since I read anything this funny!

Hai Took · 23 June 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

That was too funny! All of that trouble to apologize to Aragorn and Arwen in the first place! That everyone felt they must help Pippin in making something he very well knew how to make in the beginning! Elrond trying talk to Frodo and gettin distracted by Merry and Pippin trying to make an escape from Frodo! All the little problem in Rivendell, and Elrond's first thoughts being it was because of the hobbits and then deciding he couldn't blame everything on them. That Merry and Pippin rush to Frodo to protect them from an angry wizard was adorable, even though early that day they were running away from him! I do like how Frodo told Gandalf that he would not frighten his kin, and an angry Gandalf threatening "Frogdom" on them! Merry and Pippin apologizing and softening Aragorn and Gandalf sounds just right! All the little problems in Rivendell while they were there! How exciting! Thank you for such a fun story!

Elenar · 22 June 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

I loved your story, I couldn't stop laughing.

Pearl Took · 22 June 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

A glorious follow-up! I love how Merry and Pippin can bring mirth even to ageless Elves! And I love your provision of the healing touch of humor to all of your readers. Thank you!

sheraiah · 22 June 2004 · Chapter 2: The Morning After

One word: Priceless!

girlofring · 22 June 2004 · Chapter 1: Sweets and Secret Ingredients

I did not realize this was a continuing story. I read your second part this morning, and now read the first. Both equally entertaining. I need more drunk Frodo. He is so cute that way!!!!

Breon Briarwood · 16 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Sweets and Secret Ingredients

*LOL* This is too funny, especially the results for Frodo. Are we going to see the effect it has on the others? :)

Dreamflower · 11 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Sweets and Secret Ingredients

Oh, Yay! Hobbits cooking, and a recipe! I love those kinds of stories! What was very nice was the opening, with Merry and Sam watching out so closely for the convalescing Frodo, trying to get him not to overdo. The only thing that seemed a bit out of character at first was Aragorn's irritation over the poem--seemed like the kind of thing he'd be more amused at than angry. But when Pippin told what it had said, about him going off and leaving Arwen, well, then I could see why it struck a nerve. And the secret ingredient bit--absolutely classic! A very fun story and very hobbity.

LKK · 8 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Sweets and Secret Ingredients

A drunk Frodo! Oh me, oh my! A charming story, Budgielover. As delightful as taffy -- with or without Pippin's mum's secret ingredient. Very fun. :)

Lossenchristal · 8 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Sweets and Secret Ingredients
