I like the idea of Pippin demonstrating his love for Merry like this - and the foreshadowing of events to come is very effective.

“Like I said,” Sam smiled, and if there was a bit of steel behind his eyes, the others did not comment on it. “Never get between a hobbit and his loved ones.” Loved that line! A very nice story, wonderfully written.

I like this view of young Pippin defending his cousins with tooth and nail. Very entertaining. I especially liked the line, Something snapped inside of Pippin, and he let out a roar that sounded something like, “RoooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrDon’tyoutouchmyMerry!” before launching himself at the inebriated hobbit.

Very funny. I laughed out loud while reading. I like stories that put Sam and Pippin together as it doesn't often happen. Enjoyed this very much.

Fun story!! I do love a fiesty Pippin and it was nice to see him and Sam get to "save the day" for once (even if id didn't really need saving).
