Nice site you have there I’ve been hinavg a bit of success lately using ‘yourkeyword home’, so in your case you could try ‘cleaning home’ – if you try and put too many keywords in it looks a bit spammy imo. The company name could just about work too. It’s definately something to consider, as it’s a link that appears on every page and possibly more importantly, towards the top of the page too – this will be next post I think – content source ordering.

Great story, Budgielover. I was completely enthralled from beginning to end. I know that you normally write hobbit stories. But if you ever decided to go elvish full-time, we elf writers would be honored to have you in our ranks.
Until such time (if it ever occurs), you will be my favorite hobbit writer. :)
Author's reply
Hi, LKK! I am finally catching up on answering reviews, and wanted to thank you for your kind words. To say you were 'completely enthralled' is such a compliment - better than being paid! Thank you for the invitation to go elvish - I think I might visit now and then! *grins* (Like a hobbit, however, I would eat all the biscuits, drink the ale, thank you politely and take a nap under the table.)
I simply loved Aragorn and Legolas in this one. I always enjoy your hobbits, but this was such a great Legolas story. I liked the way Gimli welcomed Legolas back by taking his watch and telling him how proud he was of him. All in all, a very enjoyable read.
Author's reply
Hello again, GW! Thank you for your review, and for telling me that you liked that scene between Gimli and Legolas. I found out that writing Elves is very difficult - one can't play with their dignity like one can with the hobbits. Most educational!

OHHHH! What a wonderful story! I positively love it, especially the part at the end. Do you have any more stories? I'm going to check right now! Wonder-filled story! Thanks for writing it!
Galimeril ;D
Author's reply
Hullo, Galimeril. Thank you for your kind words and for letting me know you enjoyed "The Forest Has Eyes." I appreciate the review. I do indeed have many more stories (around 30?), all of which are posted on SOA. I also have just launched my own website, http://budgieloverfiction.homestead.com/index.html
and invite you to check it out. Thanks very much!

Budgie, I'm just in awe of how this story evolved. You should be very proud.
Author's reply
Thank you so much! After I got done whining and cringing and complaining, it flowed pretty easily. (After I got to the danger, blood and gore, that is... *grins*) Thank you again for your support and encouragement, and for your wonderful contributions to this one!
That's it?! (jk) That was great. I like how Legolas comes to realize the strength of the Ring-bearer, and Gimli's newfound appreciation of the elf. I kind of wish this could go on...
Author's reply
To say you wish a story could go on, BB, is the greatest compliment - thank you. I appreciate your kind words and encouragement. Be assured there will be many, many more, as RL permits (unfortunately). The others are all elbowing each other and waving at me and generally behaving without good manners in the effort to get written first...

Bravo! Bravissimo! A wonderful story and a wonderful ending. I love the Gimli and Legolas interaction at the end. The wonderfully creative touch of the forest helping Legolas recover quicker and the trees reaching out to touch him. The banter between Legolas and Aragorn was spot on as well. Wonderful!!!!!
Author's reply
Pearl, thank you so much for your encouragement and for nominating this story! It just amazes me how you can write and review and comment and always be so supportive of other writers. (I accuse Shirebound on a regular basis of hiring help to write/read/review/edit/beta/comment - I think I am going to eye you with equal suspicion.) Thank you so much for being so encouraging all through this story.

Author's reply
Thank you for your encouragement all through this one, Elendiari! I couldn't help but think when reading your comment, "Ah yes, everyone is (almost) recovered and ready for the next adventure/mishap/natural disaster..." *grins* Ah, what we put our beloved Fellowship through...

Just what I needed today. You delved into Legolas' mind wonderfully. His link with the trees was perfect. In fact, your insights into all the Fellowship leave me standing in awe. Not only do you weave a good tale, but you use it to broaden our understanding of the various characters.
Thank you for another satisfying tale.
Author's reply
Elwen, thank you. I cannot tell you how much your review, coming from a writer I respect so much, means to me. The credit for Legolas talking to the trees actually belongs to Shirebound, who commented that she would like to see that in a story. I was struggling with the story-line at that time, and her remark just opened a window in my mind. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Absolutely outstanding story. And this was a great ending. I've rarely seen anyone write every character of the fellowship equally well. Sorry to see this one end.
Author's reply
Hi, Elliska! I sure appreciate you being so generous in your reviews. Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. I also very much appreciate you commenting on my writing of all the Fellowship. I put a great deal of effort into that, and really welcome it when someone notices. Thanks.

Very nice story indeed. All the CC stay in character, and the little banter between Aragorn and Legolas is enjoyable.
Keep up the good work!

Author's reply
Hi, Timmy. Thank you for your review, and for commenting on the interaction between Legolas and Aragorn. There isn't really much in canon to suggest friendship, and more, affection, between them, but surely there was. In this, perhaps fanfiction is more true to the spirit of Tolkien than editorial space permitted the Professor to be?

Legolas is very powerful in this story - I love his communication with the trees and the way they protect him. And I really like Gimli making the first approach to him - Dwarves are not unreasonable. Good image of the trees looking at his axe and him as tree murderers.
Nice hobbits - and the ever-present provisions. Very practical. Good caring Boromir, covering them with his cloak.
Most enjoyable story.

Oh, this story was not easy to read. A bit too scary for me. In other words, you're very good at convincing me a situation is too awful for a happy ending to be possible.
This is a great description of hobbit attitudes: "Several apples from Merry’s pockets and half a small wheel of cheese and some bread from Sam’s, and the hobbits stared at what was, for hobbits, a very unsatisfactory supper. They had canvassed the Big Folk but none of them had thought to bring food. Merry shook his head disapprovingly, his opinion of Big People’s priorities dropping a notch."

Hey Budgie.
Glad to see you have updated. Hope you do not have to have surgery. Write when you can, and as always, keep coming up with exciting cliff hanging stories.
This was WONDERFUL, Budgie! You have a real talent for writing creepy, gruesome ruffians... right up my alley, I must say. And though I was egging Gandalf and Aragorn on at every step, I have to admit I got a little thrill at how much danger Frodo found himself in.
Lovely interaction between Frodo and Gandalf---how I do enjoy seeing the wizard's concern. And I imagine Frodo might be a bit traumatized, too, seeing as how close he came to being assaulted. I hope we'll get to see more Frodo comforting soon! Looking forward to the next chapter.
It has to be the rest of the fellowship, right? Boromir riding, with Sam and Merry behind him? I'm not sure, but knowing you, we're probably in need of some fluffy healing for Legolas. ;)

I am amazed at how much suspense you manage to give a seemingly harmless story (harmless, judged by the first paragraph, I should add). I had to put this story to a hold for a while (courtesy of RL issues), but read the last four chapters in one go (and vowed to never upset a tree in my life)! Now, I could hope that the dark shape approaching the recently rescued Hobbit and Elf are only their companions, but somehow I doubt it.
Eagerly waiting for more,

You and your bloody cliff-hangers. Every chapter ends in one! :) Another great chapter! So tense. Great fight scenes and great angst for Legolas. I love the way the trees are such a real character in this. And the Ring, really. I am very glad to see that Legolas finally has help keeping Frodo safe again and I hope that dark shape approaching is only the rest of the Fellowship. But knowing you, it probably isn't. This is a great story.

Engaging tale, as always! But I keep waiting for the Frodo angst! You can't possibly manage a Budgie story without it, can you?

That was a wonderfully tense chapter. One thing I like about your story is that Frodo isn't helpless, and neither is Legolas despite his injuries.
Harlan was a very dangerous enemy - cunning and ruthless, but clever too, knowing how to use Frodo against Legolas so the trees would not attack. I'm very glad he's dead!
Poor Legolas does not sound in a good way - a knee in an open wound can't be good - but he's upright (just) and talking to the trees. I hope they listen to him.
