Larner · 7 September 2007 · Chapter 12: By the Shores of the Sea
Yes, to at last need not to accomplish, but simply to know, and to hear the Song reflected in the rhythms of the Sea. Lovely.
Author's reply
There are few things as calming as the sea.
Antane · 6 September 2007 · Chapter 1: Perfidies of a Speech
Oh, another thing to have in common with hobbits! :) Why use one word when you can use 10? Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Exactly :) Why simple when it's possible to do things in a complicated way.
Antane · 6 September 2007 · Chapter 11: Relief
I share in your joy, dear Pippin! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Andrea · 6 September 2007 · Chapter 12: By the Shores of the Sea
Just beautiful, Lily! Coel-na-mara, Sound of the Sea! If that is what you see and feel when you look outside your window, you must be happy indeed :) I can now understand very well what Tolkien wanted to express when he spoke of the Sea-Longing! Thank you!
Author's reply
I can't hear it from my room, but I was there today, sitting on a log at the shore for almost an hour simply gazing into the vast blue before me. Very calming, indeed. All worries were forgotten. Thank you! :)
Andrea · 11 June 2006
LOL!!! Thank you for your reminder! That's wonderful! Revenge at last! Although, you leave it to the reader to decide whether Frodo gave in. Well, I don't think he did, because he should be immune against his own *look* ;-) On the other hand he might have been so embarrassed that he ate it after all. Thank you, Lily!
Author's reply
I don't think Frodo will it - in fact I don't even think Mac wants him to eat. He simply teases him... and successfully so :)
Elemmírë · 10 June 2006
LOL!! Mac got his revenge after all .... just ten or so years later! Very cute.
Author's reply
Well, you can hardly take revenge on a two or three year old :) You have to wait until he really notices the tease and Berilac was the perfect tool for that :)
Elemmírë · 10 June 2006
Eewww!! Disgusting ... but strangely cute! Poor Mac, I wonder if he'll someday use this little incident as cannon fodder against Frodo. I ca hear him now, "Do you remember when you forced me to eat your slobbered, drooled upon bread? ...." LOL!
Author's reply
Well, Mac will definitely never again underestimate Frodo's determination - and he might not think tears so bad after all :)
Andrea · 9 June 2006
Aw, that was sweet! Well, Mac did obey Frodo's command. And now I'm asking you: if Frodo were your own son, could you really resist those huge, pleading, blue eyes ;-)
Author's reply
Well, I might not resist those huge, pleading, blue eyes, but I will resist the bread. My stomach isn't made of iron. :)
Antane · 8 June 2006
Ah, wee Frodo! I do feel for his cousin, though, who apparently doesn't realize what a treasure it is to have Frodo near him. :)
Author's reply
He might know what a treasure Frodo is but I can understand him. I wouldn't eat that bread either even if Frodo were my own child.
Estë Tangletoes · 1 March 2006 · Chapter 4: Precious Bundle
Thank you you have lifted my day.

I'm always happy to make people's days brighter.
Estë Tangletoes · 1 March 2006 · Chapter 6: Temptation
So adorable - thank you for sharing.
Author's reply
wee!Pippin is a dear :)
Andrea · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Relief
With a joyous dart, he made for King Éomer's tent. He had to tell Merry. I can see him darting over the Field of Cormallen. Really a joyous moment for Pippin. And I think that Merry, when he hears the good news, will be the happiest hobbit in the world, for not only his younger cousin was given back to him, but also his older cousin. And he'll be glad that Pippin behaves like Pippin again, regardless of what the Gondorian soldiers or King Eomer might think :)
Author's reply
You speak true here, my dear. Very true.
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 2: A Joyous Moment
The way the news was originally conveyed was perfect--"Yes!"
Author's reply
Succinct - very unlike Pippin somehow. He must have been really amazed :)
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 1: Perfidies of a Speech
It's been a while since I read this, so I read it again. Still love it and can empathize with Frodo's frustration.
Author's reply
I'm happy to hear that.
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Relief
This would be such a moment of supreme joy for both Merry and Pippin, I think. So glad to see it from Pippin's point of view, and that he's willing to interrupt Eomer so Merry could know.
Author's reply
No business can be more important than a loved cousin waking up from near-death. :)
harrowcat · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Relief
This is awesome Lily. So much emotion in so few words!
Author's reply
If you experience the same emotion when writing it's easy to let it show even in a few words.
demeter d · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 9: Children of the Hall
That last line made me cry!
Author's reply
*hugs and pats back*
demeter d · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 5: An Offer Made
Yet another sweet picture. We stand inside Bilbo's head and watch with him.
Author's reply
I love to see the world through Frodo's eyes. Yet I love it even more to see Frodo through the eyes of those who love him.
demeter d · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 4: Precious Bundle
Lovely! Such a real reaction. I am sure as they grew together, Merry eventually became glad that they did not "give him back!"
Author's reply
He certainly was glad! :)
demeter d · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 1: Perfidies of a Speech
Darling! I always imagined that Frodo would have sort of smoothed over Bilbo's eccentricities and brought out the best in him... and loved him in spite of same qualities! Delightful piece!
Author's reply
Just what I think! :) Thank you!
Pearl Took · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Relief
Happened upon this in on the home page and I'm glad I read it. This is so happy :) Refreshment for my heart :) Nicely done :)

I'm alwys glad to be of help :)
Larner · 20 October 2005 · Chapter 10: Fireworks
Oh, I apparently missed this one when it was published, but how true it is for Frodo and Bilbo. Thank you.
Author's reply
Thank you!! There were so few people commenting on this story, I feared it had been overlooked. I love Frodo and Bilbo moments like this one.
Desidera · 14 September 2005 · Chapter 10: Fireworks
That was really great! I love how Frodo associated the magic, the dragon, the fireworks with Bilbo and his childhood, and how he says good bye to those things as well as Bilbo! Because you talked about that in the other review...I've seen musical fireworks like that too, with LotR Soundtrack Music...seems to be a popular theme for fireworks.
Author's reply
LotR Soundtrack is popular? I never heard it during a firework - though it would be very fitting.
Andrea · 15 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Fireworks
"Questioningly the dear face turned to him, but Frodo erased the worry he saw there with a heart-warming smile…" Good old Frodo, he would never give his uncle any cause to worry! That reminds me of the great fireworks I saw last year. In my city we have every year at the end of July a great fair, that lasts one week and ends with fireworks, accompanied by music. Last year I stood on my balcony and watched the fireworks, when suddenly the music changed and they were playing "Concerning hobbits" by Howard Shore. That was just wonderful :)
Author's reply
I saw such a "musical" fireworks on Saturday night. This drabble was written at about 2 a.m. after I came home - and the memory of "light and beauty up there" was still fresh.
