This was one of the best fan fictions I have read in years. Your work left me unwilling to sleep, annoyed with everything that drew my attention and concentration away from reading. It's so amazing, so full of vivid colors and characters! I've never thought of Pippin getting his own big adventure after the one he had already gone through. Finding this was like finding an unexpected hall of treasures, including Maglor's appearance (Dear Eru, I love this elf so much!). Still all your original characters left me breathless. I can't decide who I love most - each had won a place in my heart. I wish you lots and lots of inspiration, so that more works like this can be born.

This was... tremendous, I think, would be a good word for it. Ho! you must be a hearty author! This was quite... different, but good more for it. I read it all in one day. I was impressed with the descriptions of the ship, they were all spot-on. A clever take, good work!

Lord of the Rings crossed with Egyptian mythology and Indiana Jones ("Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?")makes me one happy camper! This was a great, fun read. Thanks, Tom!

"WOW!"... My first words after reading this story. Actually, I came across your fic a few times before but never had the urge to read it. Only now do I regret not reading it earlier. This is REALLY GOOD! What's your secret? Seriously, I'd like to know. Well keep up the great work. Perhaps you should write a sequel ;) *hint hint* maybe about the whole gang going to visit the shire or something....that would be fun, but thats entirely up to you. :)

Well, I have finally finished this and thank you for writing such a LONG and involved adventure story! It was thoroughly enjoyable and I am glad I read it. So many fanfics end up being just like so many other fanfics, but this one was almost to the point of being not even fanfic, it was so different! Interesting and fun, a light, enjoyable read that, while it had some unexpected guest appearances and a bit of swashbuckler feel to it, is entirely entertaining. Thank you very much for all your hard work on this delightful story! Ariel

I have just started this, but I must tell you this looks like a GREAT read! I am saving it off for a long trip I have to make and it looks like JUST the thing to keep me entertained the whole time! Thank you! I will let you know what I think when I reach the end but just skimming through it looks like a fantastic story! Thank you for all your work and effort!

This has been one fantastic, incredible story. I went from chapter to chapter, with no time to wait. What a wonderful read! And with all the amazing things you managed to pack into this, it remained true to canon! Unbelievable!

pipwise brandygin · 26 June 2004 · Chapter 5: The Forbidden Isle

What an extraordinary, fascinating adventure story - I'm very grateful to Grey Wonderer for recommending it! I haven't been able to stop reading for long enough to review until now, as the last two chapters in particular were utterly spellbinding. I'll have to tear myself away from the screen for a while, but I can't wait to read more!

hobbit_lass · 13 June 2004 · Chapter 17: The Endless Roads

Wonderful! You managed to finish it with the same excitement that started it! Bravo!

hobbit_lass · 13 June 2004 · Chapter 15: The Hobbit and the Wizard

The obstacle course that they had to go through to get to the jewel was great! Very Indiana Jones, as was the snake line! "A snake," Pippin complained. "Why did it have to be a snake?" I loved the description of Pippin blinding the statue and then when he holds the stone how was just lit up- Also thought the people change bit was very good!

hobbit_lass · 13 June 2004 · Chapter 13: The Falcon of the Sunrise

I loved how you had Frodo come to Pip in a dream! And then in true Gandalf fashion refuse to answer his question! LOL! Another great chapter, I could see the army and the mumakils! Amazing!

hobbit_lass · 13 June 2004 · Chapter 12: The Singer and the Thief

Glad to know the fate of the pirates at last, and the elf adds a whole new level to this adventure! I really enjoyed the flashback at the end- Great stuff!

hobbit_lass · 13 June 2004 · Chapter 11: The Mountain of Er

The scene where Pippin claims to have failed Gandalf was so very touching! You are such an amazing writer! Can't wait to see what's next- Going on to read!

hobbit_lass · 13 June 2004 · Chapter 10: The Blue Wizard

The return of Tempest! I really enjoyed this chapter, the description of Alatar was amazing and I loved the line, "He wondered what sort of amusements the Royal Family was enjoying these days... "- I laughed for a good 5 minutes! Going on to read more! Great Job!

Grey Wonderer · 12 June 2004 · Chapter 17: The Endless Roads

"I do not doubt it," said Morelin with a laugh. "You, Peregrin Took, shall never be too old for adventure." I hope this means that sometime soon, you will write another grand adventure for the Falcon and his friends. As you may have guessed, I enjoyed this very much. Keep writing.

Grey Wonderer · 11 June 2004 · Chapter 16: Look Homeward, Hobbit

The blessing of Iset for Pippin and Bilbo's words were my favorite parts of this chapter. I shall be sorry to see this story end as I have enjoyed every word of it. You are a wonderful writer. I hope that you are planning more tales in the very near future.

Grey Wonderer · 10 June 2004 · Chapter 15: The Hobbit and the Wizard

There are no words. The image of Pippin alight with the power and the golw of the jewel was wonderful. You have out-down yourself on this one. I held my breath the entire time. The death of the Blue Wizard was very fitting indeed! Somewhere I am sure that Gandalf was very proud of his little Took. I know I was.

Grey Wonderer · 10 June 2004 · Chapter 14: The Battle of Three Nations

Am I decieved or have you read Terry Pratchett? I thought of Discworld when I read : (that turned out to be a giant Tortoise whose shell was overgrown with jungle, was one particularly suspect tale--but he enjoyed them all. ) It was a wonderful surprise in an amazing chapter. I am wondering about Leah and Brogar now a bit. More romance since she can't hope to have Pippin as Diamond haunts his thoughts. Well, on to read more!

Author's reply

Actually I stole that idea from the Arabian Nights through various pop-culture filters! Morelin and his pirates have tons of fun.

Grey Wonderer · 8 June 2004 · Chapter 13: The Falcon of the Sunrise

"Nay," said Obed. "Regret not the courage of a heart that's true, fool though it be." He looked past Poclis and smiled. "Behold, now comes such a heart." The perfect description of Pippin! I am so glad they arrived in time so that Poclis was not killed in the battle. I love the mystic side of this chapter. Pippin's dream and the true meaning of Leah's name. Lots of lovely connections to the Shire, Mery/Merry and Pippin's wish to make Gandalf proud of him amid his self-doubts. It was very fitting that Frodo would not chose for Pippin, but supported him and was proud of him. Can't wait for more.

Author's reply

Frodo is Pippin's hero. And what Pip needed to hear, only Frodo, if not Gandalf, could say with authority.

hobbit_lass · 8 June 2004 · Chapter 9: The Valley of the Star

Oh my gosh! Poor Pippin! Your descriptions of what he went through were very good, very upsetting, but very good. I was shocked when it turned out that the captain's name was Mery. The description of Pippin when he attacks Mery was amazing! You are very talented and I'm so glad that grey_wonderer recommended your story! Going on to read more-

Author's reply

It was upsetting to write that part, but Pip's a survivor. Hobbits are tough.

hobbit_lass · 8 June 2004 · Chapter 8: The Chariots of Sakhara

"Who's in pieces now, Mr. Peeper? " Great line! I loved the descriptions of the village and it's people and as always the fighting scenes were excellent! Glad Pippin got "thanked" for his bravery, and thought him thinking of what his mom and sister would think of his clothes was cute. I really liked the scene where he got his lion tooths necklace, and I'm very curious about this blue wizard. Going on to read more!

hobbit_lass · 8 June 2004 · Chapter 7: The Plains of the Sun

I like how your keeping track of everyone through Pippin's visions. Leah sounds interesting, and I liked the bit with Diamond and Little Faramir. Was very glad that the pirate and Davy were still alive. Going to read more!

hobbit_lass · 8 June 2004 · Chapter 6: The Bone Shore

I know, I know. Patience, planning ... honestly, Poclis, sometimes you sound just like a Brandybuck." I laughed so hard when I read this line! Brilliant! And your closing paragraph with the description was great! Bravo!
