What a great story. Id just like to ask that u take.the time to catch spelling errors and the many missing words. I loved the story. It was full of emotion and very interesting. :)

Galimeril · 31 August 2004 · Chapter 999999: Author's notes and a possible sneak peak

A wonderful story! I must know when your next story comes out!!! I hope you gave Legolas (if that's who you killed) a merciful death. By the way, the artist who sings "Holes in the Floor of heaven" is Mark Wills. Keep up the great work! Galimeril ;D

Duchess · 5 August 2004 · Chapter 999999: Author's notes and a possible sneak peak

Thank you for the chapter by chapter review, so to speak, of your intentions and feelings for the story. That was an interesting and enjoyable read, but also I feel it helps to clarify things for your readers. NOT that it was needed or necessary for that, I feel your work spoke for itself because it was very well done! I hope you have good relations with everyone in your life at this point. {{{hugs}}} Thank you for sharing that beatiful story with us. :) Now about that snippet... I do believe I want to read it, even though I'm sure it's gonna probably make me cry, you're that good at conveying angst in your writing and making the reader identify with the characters. *vbg*

I really enjoyed this! You had me so hooked I could barely pause until I was done. Also, I loved Let Me Be The One, I'm officially a fan of yours now--keep up the awesome work! :-)

Duchess · 23 July 2004 · Chapter 6: Healing for the Future

Aww, I'm sooooo glad that you didn't let Thranduil get away with saying that and not clearing it up. I imagine you got fussed at for having had him say it in the first place, considering Tolkien canon, but for the sake of your little fic (which is by it's very existence AU) it was okay to ignore that. In my book it was anyway. *vbg* A very good, very moving story that I really liked. :):):)

diva · 21 July 2004 · Chapter 6: Healing for the Future

I loved it please right another one!!! It was so cute!!!

Author's reply

Thanks! I plan on writting one, but after I get my mind back to normal:-D Am glad you thought so!

Hisie Lome · 21 July 2004 · Chapter 6: Healing for the Future

What fun...I just got back for vacation and had 2 new listings for your work...one on FF.net and one here. They were the same chapter...lol! The Valar were rather forceful with that direction of what to read today. It was a touching story . I look forward to your next tale.

Author's reply

I hope you had fun on your vacation! lol.. Yes indeed the Valar was forceful;-) But luckily the Valar did not have to send any messenger to force you to read:-D Thanks! Hopefully for you, I might actually make it come together a bit better:-D

daw the minstrel · 21 July 2004 · Chapter 6: Healing for the Future

I'm glad that father and son have reconciled here. It's understandable that Legolas thought about events one way when he was a child, but it's time he got an adult's perspective on them, and that's hard to do given how traumatic it was.

Author's reply

Yes me too:-D In growing up myself I have come to grips with many things that as a child I couldn't for the life of me comprehend... And I think that at last Legolas is finally grown in a sense, emotionally and mentally:-)

Shireling · 21 July 2004 · Chapter 6: Healing for the Future

Lovely story, I particularly liked the relationship between Legolas and Faramir and the way you drew parallels between their two stories. Well done.

Author's reply

Wow! I cannot believe so many authors whose stories I love are actually coming to review me! Yes I like Faramir and Legolas and knew that at last I could use the two in the same fic and actually have a decent conversation:-D Thank you so much!

Bodkin · 21 July 2004 · Chapter 6: Healing for the Future

Here am I, sitting listening to Evanescence - and you come up with some of their lyrics! (I have come to the conclusion that I am better off not being able to pick out the words, since they always seem to be rather depressing.) I'm glad Legolas recovered and reconciled with Thranduil. They need each other.

Author's reply

lol.. Yes I love Evanescence, but I don't have that particular cd... I love listening to the lyrics (or finding them and reading them if the music is a bit too rocky to hear the lyrics:-)and when I saw that particular song and the lyrics I knew immediately that I needed to use them..:-D Yes Legolas is recovered and reconciled:-D And yes they do need each other...

daw the minstrel · 14 July 2004 · Chapter 5: Remembering the Past

Lots of angst and a nasty battle. Poor Legolas. He's seen some bad things and lost some people he loved. No wonder he has bad dreams.

Bodkin · 14 July 2004 · Chapter 5: Remembering the Past

Exciting flashback - poor Legolas. Even poorer other elves giving up their lives for him. Would you consider that Legolas is suffering from post-traumatic stress for all the suppressed memories? It's not surprising he's not healing too well. He needs to make up with his father.

Duchess · 14 July 2004 · Chapter 5: Remembering the Past

I understand that this is a flashback, and it is a good, angsty one. It may have worked better earlier in the story, but here is good too. Very sad! THAT many Elves died when he was so sorely wounded? Ouch! More please? *hopeful look*

Bodkin · 10 July 2004 · Chapter 4: The Truth Sometimes Hurts

Can I hope you don't actually plan to kill poor Legolas? If he is actually 'mortally' wounded, I might just have to stop reading!

Author's reply

*Gasps* I so cannot believe it!!! I love your Reflections from the Paradise of Elves and am thrillled that you took the time to read and review! Thanks!!! He 'was' mortally wounded, but no he will not die. You could actually say a near mortal wound, because it almost killed him.. But don't worry I won't kill our prince:-D

LAXgirl · 8 July 2004 · Chapter 4: The Truth Sometimes Hurts

Wait... Is Legolas dying of a mortal wound? I thought I read that somewhere? This isn't going to have a character death is there? I hope not. I HATE character death stories, though I don't think yours'll be what with the slowly rebuilding relationship between Legolas and Thranduil. You know, stories where Thranduil is distant and cold to his children always seem to hurt my poor little heart no matter what the content of the story is. It just kills me. That's why I'm liking this story so far. There's hope for reconciliation between the two. I sure hopw you update soon. The only other thing I have to ask or comment on is how Legolas became injured for the basis of this story. It seemed rather abrupt of a story set up with not much background for it. I'm not saying it's bad, it just... needs to be developed a little bit more for readers to get a good feel of the story setting. Anyway, cool stuff all around. Hope to see an update soon. Maybe once Legolas and Thranduil make up, Legolas will finally start to heal. All that grief and self-resentment he's held for himself all these years and thoughts of dislove and blame from his father have been slowly poisoning him. He needs to make up. Update soon. I'll be keeping a look out for it! Signing out -LAXgirl

Author's reply

Am still shocked over the fact that you reviewed me! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my little fic:-) No Legolas is not dying of a mortal wound, he recieved one and was close to death but will not die. I hate character death stories as well;-) I know what you mean... I like both the Thranduil is cold to his children and Thranduil is warm to his children stories... :-P I had a chapter written but now I find that I can easily incorporate some more in;-) I still cannot believe you read and reviewed me! I love your stories and hope that someday I will be able to write like you can:-D You are exactly right about the grief and self-resentment, I find that I am like that, never speaking about what is inside of me until I am about to burst with it and then it comes out in a huge flood that leaves me emotionally drained:-) Thanks for reading a reviewing again!

Duchess · 8 July 2004 · Chapter 4: The Truth Sometimes Hurts

Oh, how heartwrenching! I'm sooooo glad that Legolas finally got that all out to his Ada and Thranduil is being so caring. When Legolas wakes up he NEEDS to tell him he WASN'T an accident! He'll heal now, right? You're telling this story so well, I'm impressed. Please do continue to write more? *hopeful look*

Author's reply

Yes indeed:-) Thank you so much for that little tidbit of information! I knew I had forgotten something! Thank you (blushes modestly) I already have several more fics in process after this one is finished... So many ideas! I don't really know where to start:-) Thanks for the review~

daw the minstrel · 8 July 2004 · Chapter 4: The Truth Sometimes Hurts

Very angsty, Faith! I think Faramir might indeed be the one to understand Legolas's pain. I'm glad Thrnaduil is so understanding.

Author's reply

Yeah I know... After I wrote it I had to go back and actually tone it down quite a bit.. I was in such a terrible mood that day, I wanted so bad to cry so I wrote that chapter, reread it and sat down and had a good cry:-) I have always liked Faramir and have wanted to incorporate him somehow and after reading the script for ROTK I knew I had the perfect moment... Yeah, it's crazy at times how understanding our Ada's can be after so much:-S

Duchess · 5 July 2004 · Chapter 3: Escape from the Past

That idiot! Does he WANT to die? He could pull his stitches, get thrown by his horse if the thing sees a snake, ANYTHING could happen! Please tell me someone stops him? It would be too cute for Meldar to be waiting for him in the stables. Maybe even Arwen? Somebody needs to knock some sense into his skull, verbally at least since he can't take any more physical punishment right now. *sigh* Great job so far, you're definitely holding my interest! *vbg*

Lirenel · 4 July 2004 · Chapter 3: Escape from the Past

great story. What is Legolas up to? Update soon!

Author's reply

Thanks! Guess:-) And I will!

daw the minstrel · 3 July 2004 · Chapter 3: Escape from the Past

Why is it that I think this trip is a very bad idea for Legolas? I wonder why his wounds aren't healing as they ought to. Could it be his unhappiness?

Author's reply

lol.. well actually... (cough) No I can't give it away... sorry... you'll just have to wait oh maybe til wednesday.... :-) Have you read Mirrordance's Last Stand? That is kinda where I got the idea from and from a few others... Basically that when an elf is wounded in the soul, his body is slower or doesn't heal... but (shrug) So it is kinda his unhappiness... :-P

Eruanna · 29 June 2004 · Chapter 2: If only, if only

:_( *tear tear* How sad! I'm incredibly sorry; I haven't been here and reviewed one of your stories in *forever*.....hopefully I can be better at it now. ;-) Such is the way of life, unfortunately.....no time, no time, no time. Speaking of life, Legolas' mother's death is so sad!! Everyone's different viewpoints on her death are very interesting, even if I don't have the heart to write my own. ;-) Poor, poor Legolas; the guilt just never ends, does it? Very touching/intriguing chapter ending...almost like a cliffy, except that it's more of a slope. (Darn, I can't stop rambling.) As for the first chapter, I'm a wee bit confused. The summary said that Legolas is mortally wounded, but in the actual story he doesn't exactly seem to be at death's door...is he actually dying, and I'm just missing something? ;-) Five years of silence! It made me hurt just to think of it. That's really sad. The conversation between Thranduil and Legolas was almost painful to read; it was like you could see where it was going, and you wanted to scream at the characters to stop fighting and make up, but you knew what would happen and you couldn't stop it. Excellent job with that emotion. Having your father add insult to injury with a comment about your best friend...no surprise that a wall went up! //So it remained a mystery, left buried in the past much to the relief of the prince and the curiosity of everyone else.// I like that sentence. ;-) It's incredibly sad that Legolas doesn't know that his father was there all the time. The last line of the first chapter is in a bigger font; at first I wondered if you were really trying to make your point. ;-) //Pride kept the royal father and son apart, but love kept the father coming back.// There is something very profound there. Keep up the good work!

Author's reply

Yikes! What a review!~:-) Am glad to see that you are back! Yeah Legolas' mother's death was heartbreaking, I finally decided to give a death a try:-) lol... a slope indeed:-D Yeah well it kinda goes into that but not much... I'll give you my thoughts.. Legolas was wounded by some stray orcs while patrolling in Ithilien, he recieved several cuts and stab wounds... but like I said, it explains itself in chapter 3 Thanks for the compliment! :-) I know what you mean, I wanted to stop writing and strangle them:-D You like that ay? I happen to like that as well:-D Yeah I know what you mean... But I've found many times it feels like I'm alone my parents are silently watching from the side because they know that I need to be able to realize that I can make it on my own:-D I hope I conveyed that a little bit:-D No, the font was screwed up and that was like the tenth time I had redone it, so I finally gave up:-) and yes there is something very profound about that line... Thanks for the review~!

Duchess · 29 June 2004 · Chapter 2: If only, if only

This is very angsty, but I'm very interested in this story. Please write more? I'm hoping father and son will reconcile before you're done. :)

Author's reply

Yes it is very angsty... I was in an angsty mood when I wrote this so it helped a bit I think:-) I'm glad your interested... Actually I have it already completely written... But I might add or detract as I go along:-) And yes reconciliation will be here before I am done:-D

daw the minstrel · 28 June 2004 · Chapter 2: If only, if only

Lots of regret here from a kid who is obviously too young to understand what he can control and what he can't. How sad. He even has people to love him and help him if he will let them.

Author's reply

Yeah.... But it's kinda how kids are... They don't realize that it's not their fault and they can't control what is beyond them... He doesn't seem to realize that his Adar and others will love him no matter what... It is truely sad..

Dairwendan · 22 June 2004 · Chapter 1: I want to remember

I love the beginning of this! I'm such a sucker for Legolangst!I'm looking forward to more!

Author's reply

Thanks! I'm sure you will like the rest of the story then:-D I like Legolas angst as well:-D lol.... I'm glad you like it!

Lily Frost · 22 June 2004 · Chapter 1: I want to remember

Oh! Angsty, and quite sad! Yes, it is dangerous for an elf to conceal grief like that... and I'm curious now too, about what happened to Legolas' mother. It's a bit melodramatic, but you have a good grasp of character!

Author's reply

Yes indeed... But Legolas thinks he has a good reason why he has closed his grief off... :-) Curiousity is a good thing... In my case anyway:-) It just ensures that you will keep reading:-D Yes it is rather melodramatic, but not too much I hope, otherwise it just turns out too cheesy:-p Let me know what you think! Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you think so.
