"Oh, do hush, Merry. You're safe as long as you don't start dreaming that I'm one of the Cheever sisters..." Pippin's voice trails away and silence falls over Crickhollow. LOL! This was a wonderful ending to their conversation! Loved it, and the way you write Merry and Pippin is devine! :-)

A very moving set of stories. I don't know who I feel worst for - Frodo, probably, because he is so alone. But then there's Sam, who doesn't think he has the right to be haunted by his memories, and Pippin who was really too young to be there, and Merry, who feels he should be able to protect everyone. Oh well, at least none of them got stuck with the Cleever sisters!
