This story gave me chills. Thanks for giving me the links. You are truely an amazing writer. :)
Author's reply
Oh my, thank you! I'm just thrilled that you're enjoying my stories so much. I really pour my heart and soul into them. :)
aprilkat · 24 February 2007 · Chapter 1
I was immensely moved by the idea that Frodo would be remembered within the very fabric of nature itself for his spirit and his deeds - not just dependent on fallible creatures...
Author's reply
This type of idea realy moves me greatly, as well. The fact that Arda was called into being by a Great Music, and that the themes of that Music are still being revealed... I believe that the courage, sacrifice, and essence of the hobbits will definitely be woven into it, for all to hear that can.
Larner · 10 May 2006 · Chapter 1
Am dipping into some of the older tales. This one is beautiful, particularly the thought that the stars themselves will sing the names of Frodo, along, of course, with the names of the rest as well. This is, I think, my favorite of the stories I've read of yours so far.
Author's reply
Oh Larner, thank you. I'm so happy when something I've written resonates with someone. I will never tire of imagining how the Music and the Song weave their way through the story of Arda.
Larner · 21 March 2006 · Chapter 1
And all rejoice to hear that music revealed in the laughter of Hobbits and the joy of those who read of them.
Author's reply
I love the theme of "the Song" in the Professor's wonderful world. Hobbits must indeed be a very delightful part of the Great Music.
Taurendil · 28 January 2006 · Chapter 1
Wow, that left me with chills! I love your work and am so glad I found it all collected in one place. I have to admit I've been sitting here for hours reading and it just leaves me with such wonderful feelings stirring within! The warm fuzzies you muster with your perfect characterizations of these people I so love is just overwhelming and in certainly the best way!! Thank you very much. Your work is vastly appreciated. You truly have a gift!
Author's reply
Oh my, thank you so much! Warm fuzzies -- especially concerning hobbits -- are my favorite things. I'm so happy you're enjoying the stories! :D
Elf Friend · 7 February 2005 · Chapter 1
This is such a beautiful idea. The Earth remembers everything that has now come to pass, although there will come a time where no living human being will remember. Whoa, I hear an echo! "Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it." Okay, sorry, I'm done now. ^^ Thanks for this story!
Author's reply
Thank *you*! I want to believe that nothing is ever truly lost, especially the deeds of such courageous folk.
Nivina · 12 November 2004 · Chapter 1
A wonderful fic! You write so wonderfully. :) I especially adore this: You are woven into the Great Music, Frodo Baggins, Elrond thought, and your deeds will endure even after the memory of Men fade. The trees will whisper the tale, the land and waters will remember, and the stars will sing your name.
Author's reply
Oh Nivvy, thank you! *hugs*
Pearl Took · 2 November 2004 · Chapter 1
I got the notice about this at a time I couldn't read it, then it got lost in the shuffle. I apologise for being so long in reading this. A wonderful and gentle tale. Yes, I'm sure the High Elves can hear the Song of the Ages and that Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin and Bilbo will be forever part of the Song!!
Author's reply
Thank you, Pearl. I like to think that, when Tolkien wrote in ROTK about the Ringbearers, "The Elves delighted to honour them", they could sense something very special. Very special indeed.
Jay of Lasgalen · 28 October 2004 · Chapter 1
A lovely title, and a lovely story. I liked the end with Glorfindel listening to the music, and hearing the hobbits' laughter. Jay
Author's reply
Thank you so much. I wasn't sure if the ending was going to "work", so I appreciate you mentioning that.
Nerdanel · 28 October 2004 · Chapter 1
Oh, I love it, I love it! The reference to the Music gave me chills. It was so lovely. What a wonderful job. It is so deep.
Author's reply
Thank you so much. The Music is becoming part of a lot of my stories ("Sing Me Home", "Light Out of Darkness", and others). I love the idea of the world being "sung" into being. :)
Ariel · 28 October 2004 · Chapter 1
I may not review them all, but I do enjoy your pieces. Well done, SB.

Thank you, my friend. :)

'You are woven into the Great Music, Frodo Baggins, Elrond thought, and your deeds will endure even after the memory of Men fade. The trees will whisper the tale, the land and waters will remember, and the stars will sing your name.' Now that is lasting fame. Not the ephemeral recollection afforded by songs and stories, that can change with every telling. And Sam comes over as a truly great and overlooked hobbit - yet he would never think it of himself. It's very true that maps are fairly meaningless in advance and only take on a life when they are telling of places you have been. Good Elrond.
Author's reply
I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I think we learn the most about characters when seen through the eyes (and thoughts) of *other* characters, especially those of other races.
Lindelea · 28 October 2004 · Chapter 1

" . . . . the stars will sing your name. . . . " Ah, shirebound, I think that this is the most poetic piece of writing I have ever heard from you. Every phrase just resonates with rhythm and melody. It is truly a beautiful piece of work. A perfect jewel. It's like a scene that is still in motion somewhere in the universe, a scene seen by some singer and transformed into an earthly fabric that can be read and loved. Thank you for sharing your vision with us, esamen

Oh my, thank you so very much. Elwen's stories inspire Song and Music, and I wanted to give her a hopefully-worthy gift for her birthday.
Grey Wonderer · 28 October 2004 · Chapter 1
I love this quiet scene between Lord Elrond and Frodo. Elrond's impressions of Sam and his wonder at how Frodo could continue...beautiful story. I like that even after all is gone the elves know that the very land and sky will remember what was risked and accomplished.
Author's reply
Thank you! It isn't always easy for me to "get into" the mind of an Elf, especially in describing their impressions of the accomplishments of mortals.
Mum's the Word · 28 October 2004 · Chapter 1
Ah! Ah, the Song! I hear it in your words! How beautifully you've expressed this glimpse of the Music. Thank you for another wonderful treat. Many blessings, Mum
Author's reply
Thank you so much. Yes, the Song and the Music are weaving their way through more and more of my stories recently.
