Ack! Is he dead or did he live? How long was he in the coma?
Author's reply
This was a confusing chapter wasn't it. I hope that the next chapter helped to answer your questions.

How sad! Elladan may be the one to die, when Elrohir was the one who was sick!

Nice turn of events isn't it. LoL

Of all the Elves in the books, the ones in Elrond's household are the ones I love the most, particularly Glorfindel. I enjoyed reading a chapter from his perspective.
Author's reply
I like Glorfindel as well. The twins are my favorite though. I like t o portray Glor as a mentor type fo person. I'm glad that you liked my portrayal of him.

I love this look through Elrond's eyes. How terrible it must be to have both of your sons in this predicament and you feeling at a loss at how to help them.
Author's reply
Elrond is such a fun character to write about, especially when it is about his relationship with his sons. Thanks for reviewing!

I've wondered if the twins could get sick, the poor dears. This is so sad, but beautifully written.

This is such an emotioal piece... Both of the twins are linked and if one goes he other does nice work.....
Author's reply
I am glad you like the emotion. It took me awhile to develop the "if one goes the other goes too" aspect of the story. Thanks for reviewing!

Heaven knows I read way too much fanfic involving the Peredhil, but I've never seen one that takes a look at the extent to which their Edain heritage might affect their health. (In fact, no one seems to pay much attention to how their Mortal blood would affect their thoughts, instinct, reactions and so on. How 'bout taking all that up in your next piece? ) I have enjoyed every chapter and I look forward to seeing how you wind things up!
Author's reply
I'm glad that you have enjoyed this so much! I have been pondering a few things about the human blood within my favorite half-elf family, and I have drawn some conclusions about a new story based on some of those qualities. It is not written yet but I have a plot down. Thanks for reviewing!

· Chapter 4: Too Far Gone
what do you mean by"never tried to save him"?
Author's reply
If Elladan is waiting for Elrohir to go with him and he doesn't show up that is a form of betrayal, at least I would think so. Elladan is waiting for Elrohir to die from his sickness. However he doesn't die from his sickness. If Elladan doesn't feel Elrohir trying to bring him back,he will die form the loss of hope. The last bit "hes too far gone" shows that Elrohir and Elrond don't *know* what to do to save him. In that, we know that 1) Elrohir is not going to die 2) Elladan is waiting for him and 3)If Elladan dies it is because he has lost hope of leaving with his brother. Does that make sense to you. Maybe it will make sense in the next chapter. But if it doesn't then let me know and I will try to word it a bit differently. Thanx for the review!

If this is the end, you're killind me,Elladan cant die ,let elrohirs tears bring him back, let 'dan feel Elrohirs tears and his spirit and realise elrohir is getting him better, let him feel the strength in elrohirs spirit and awake, twins with such a connected spirit cannot live long without each other,I know,i am a twin, no one can tell Eldarwen* and I apart and we need each other, sadly, she is the younger, weaker twin.Bring them both back to good health, but yet,you have your own ideas, a wonderful story, heart wrenching. Can't wait for more!
Author's reply
Trust me its not the end. What you said with Elrohir's tears... thats a bit typical, I wanted to do something a bit differently. (Whether that be klling them or finding a somewhat different way of bringing them back I will never tell) I am so glad you could relate to this story. I hope you enjoy the future chapters. Thanx for reviewing!

Oh no! Now that Elrohir is getting better, Elladan is the one in trouble. Maybe Elrohir has regained enough strength to be able to reach into his bond with his brother and convince him to come back. However, I imagine this would be very dangerous with Elrohir still weak from his illness. I'm sure that Elrond knows this too.
Can't wait to find out what happens next. This is really great! By the way, sorry I didn't review last chapter. I was really bogged down with school. Consider this a review for both chapters.
Author's reply
no problem! We all have other obligations, thought it would be awesome if our *only* obligation would be to read and write fanfiction. That would be awesome! Anyway, thanks for reviewing. You are right, poor poor Ellie! *huggles Elladan* I can't keep you nearly dead for *too* long. I am either going to have to kill you soon or save you... And *trust me* Elrohir *will* try everything to save his brother. *sigh* The bond of the twins.

Sounds like this is shaping up to be a very angsty story. Maybe Elladan's close presence will help Elrohir to recover. This is a really great story and I can't wait for more.
Author's reply
First thanks for you wonderful comments. This is my first try at angst, so I am glad you say that it is fulfilling its purpose! I am sure Elladan will help Elrohir! They are, afterall, twins! Thanks for reviewing.-lilpippin

Yes, put the twins together - I'm surprised Elrond didn't think of that before, or that Elladan isn't at his twin's side in the first place. Tell Elladan he can't give up, Elrohir needs him!
I think this is the first story I've read where the twins' human blood makes them vulnerable to illness - it makes a refreshing change. Thanks for updating!

Author's reply
*tells Elladan* He says he wont! He promises. I have tried to change the outlook on how the twins react when they are hurt. This implies that Elrohir and Elladan have never really experienced any life-threatening events. If it was me, I would not know how ro act in this situation. I would probably try to blame someone and get angry. I kept the usual, Elladan gets angry at himself thing, but I have changed how most people portray him into one with more of a confused role. Does this make any sense? I also figured that since, they have not made their "choice" they would not be considered either of the races. I figure that if they have human blood, they can get sick. I imagine Elrond could still get sick if it was bad enough. Keep in mind I have nothing to prove this, it is merely and observation/ assumption that I made. I am also sure Elrond, would not want Elladan to spend all his time in Elrohir's room. I am sure he would want to protect his sons from death as much as he could. Elrond is also not all-knowing, he may be wise, but everyone is subject to mistakes. Thanks again for reviewing!-lilpippin

That was very powerful - Elladan's anger was scary! Poor Elrohir, I hope he'll be all right - Elladan is right, he too would die if Elrohir did. Please write more!

This is coming from Jay of Lasgalen..... the Jay of Lasgalen? Yeah, I am a fan or as people say, a lurker. (lol) Anyway, yea Elladan's anger was scary. I was afraid myself. When I was writing it, it started off as a one-shot, but I was persuaded to write more. That is the reason why the chapter sounded a little bit like a conclusion....I also have never been one for cliff-hangers. So that is chapter 1. Chapter 2 coming soon. Anyway, thanks for reviewing, I relaly appreciate it... a lot more than you know!
