What a shattering story! I never did get back to read this on the Challenge site. This hit home especially as we lost a dearly loved six-year-old friend to cancer some years ago. It is too bad they didn't have an Ent-draught to save her.

*sigh* Indeed, Ent-draught would be most welcome in this world, where despite all our knowledge, still so many die that we would wish saved... Thank you for reading on, though it must have been difficult. May your Ambers always see happy endings, and never lack for wishes.. Sil
