· Chapter 19: The Battle of Bywater
Am so very glad that Frodo was there to help them keep from destroying their souls in their grief and fury.
Lovely, lovely first person examination of how the moment took them.
Author's reply
Am also very glad that Frodo was there, with his wisdom and pity to stay their hands.
Thanks for your thoughtful and thought-provoking comment.

· Chapter 18: Petals on the Wind
If she MUST consult daisy petals, obviously she loves HIM not and deserves to find her happiness elsewhere. Am so glad they each found the one intended for him/herself.
Author's reply
Poor thing, she's just trying to do what she thinks is right. I'm glad she saw her way clear, eventually, to *really* do the right thing.

Yes, the two of them would work in concert in this, Legolas and Aragorn; and Legolas would have a good reason to use his own cloak rather than Aragorn--plus it is a foreshadowing of sorts. Well done.
Author's reply
Yes, I was thinking of the foreshadowing when I wrote this. For some reason I can see Legolas' cloak smelling of the Sea, even after he went through smoke and battle.

Indeed yes, Letter #214.
They could properly recieve gifts up until luncheon of the day of the party, but good manners was to give it to the byrding the day before.
Very sweet drabble. Poor Merry--it's nice to see Pip giving the comfort for a change.
Author's reply
Answering reviews rather belatedly.
I keep forgetting to check 214 for those facts... you seem well versed in them. Do you have a birthday story on your list? I must seek it out.

What a foreshadowing of what is to come all too soon in his life.
Beautifully written, Lindelea.
Author's reply
Goodness, I looked at the reviews to these drabbles and see I haven't answered them! Where have I been?

· Chapter 3: I See the Moon and the Moon Sees Me
They're all beautiful but I think this one is my favorite....although I also like the ones with the three wives' tales...so much beauty and emotion in such little packages. *sigh*
cheers & blessings

Thank you! Why did I not see this review before now? (scratching head)
Anyhow, thank you for taking time to leave thoughtful feedback.
Author Reply: p.s. I think the three wives tales is my favourite, too.

Oh, this is very nice:
"Merry's not gone, the Shadow's only hiding him... "
Thanks for that very comforting insight.
Blessings,

· Chapter 14: Happy Birthday, RSF! (obviously heavily borrowed, but still sincere)
Ah--she realizes this is part of his hope, and is willing to share the love he holds.
This is my Rosie.
Author's reply
You left all these lovely reviews, and for some reason I didn't answer them. Humblest apologies, and thanks.

Alas--six more months before the arrival, but he IS alive, remembering her, perhaps already thinking on how she holds his hope as he holds Frodo's.
Author's reply
That scene in the ROTK film on the side of the fiery mountain, Sam saying brokenly, "Rosie Cotton – she had ribbons in her hair..."

Ah--Pippin, Merry, Sam. So much they must try to balance between two lives, two memories. And Sam, who at the end must seek out his Master, bring him back to the family the three of them once formed.

Very gentle, very real. Very Merry and Pippin.

He could have come back later in the evening to find Frodo toasting Bilbo, which Frodo might have decided to do once again later that night.

Oh, how I love this one, Lindelea. So right, so appropriate. The shadow has hidden Merry, but will be pushed away by the Light of the King.

· Chapter 1: "And get my pipe out of my pack, if it isn't broken."
Very beautifully written, and I can see the grief of all three for one another, not that Frodo has much chance to meditate on his love for the other two.

· Chapter 13: March 25 SR 1419 (Rosie Cotton)
What a great little glimpse into Rosie`s thoughts! I don`t think I have seen anyone write about Rosie knowing that her Sam would come so long before he does. Thank you for sharing this!
Author's reply
Goodness, I was poking around and just saw this!
I think Jodancingtree wrote about Rosie's foreknowing in her marvellous story "Sam's Rose". If you haven't read it, you're in for a treat!
