I've read the book so I know he comes around soner or later. He does doesn't he? I'm beginning to worry about Merry. He is fighting so hard and getting nowhere. He better not give up! I don't think it was over-the-top. Seems to me to be a very unique look at what it might be like to struggle for conciousness. I hope Pippin talks to Merry some more and cries a bit less as the tears seem to be upsetting Merry more than they are helping. Where is Strider with "the hands of the king are healing hands"? We need a medic over here!

I like the way this goes back and forth between what Pippin is feeling and Merry's struggle as he tries to find his way out of his own mind. Write more soon.
