obsidianj · 26 January 2014 · Chapter 19: Taking Matters Into Their Own Hands

Oh, this is so cute. Love the foot massage. Aragorn obviously enjoys it too.

Author's reply

Thank you. It's a pleasure to imagine Aragorn being so looked after.

Suzelle · 26 January 2014 · Chapter 19: Taking Matters Into Their Own Hands

Squeeee! I love this so much!! What a lovely gift for Cairistiona :)

Author's reply

Thank you. I'm so happy that this idea came to me in time for her birthday.

Cairistiona · 26 January 2014 · Chapter 19: Taking Matters Into Their Own Hands

I loved reading this on your LJ and loved re-reading it again here! Such a warm, comforting story. I love it any time Aragorn, in his long hard years, gets some pampering, and few do it better than hobbits, who, after all, put comfort in very high esteem! How wonderful to see Aragorn lulled to a healing sleep by a good foot massage. Thanks again for this lovely birthday ficlet!

Author's reply

Isn't it lovely when Aragorn is not only pampered, but actually *allows* himself to be? I'm so glad you posted your 'wish list'... it was very inspiring. :) *extra birthday hugs*

Lily Baggins · 5 May 2009 · Chapter 12: Battles Won and Lost

Reading this again and grinning from ear to ear!

Author's reply

Yay, I'm glad this continues to give you grins. It was such fun to write. Tipsy hobbits, solicitous Aragorn, tucking Frodo into bed, hobbits "winning"... *happy*

Lily Baggins · 5 May 2009 · Chapter 3: Stubborn As Can Be

I am re-reading this for the umpteenth time, and this is one of my favorite ficlets ever! The last line is classic.

Author's reply

Oh gosh, I love this one too, Lily! *hugs you*

Antane · 21 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

How sweet and lovely and loving! Yes, indeed, they've done enough walking for quite a while. :) *hugs* Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Thank you. Indeed, they deserve a nice long rest, with lots of TLC.

Raksha The Demon · 21 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

Very cute vignette - loved Faramir's line about the hobbits having walked enough already!

Author's reply

Thanks, Raksha! I never tire of ways my beloved hobbits might be tended and find healing.

Linda Hoyland · 20 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

I just love this!

Author's reply

Thanks, Linda! :)

nautika · 20 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

I enjoyed this short tale. Thanks for sharing! nautika

Author's reply

Thank you, Nautika. :)

Inzilbeth · 20 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

Yes, they certainly have done enough walking recently! How wonderful that king and Steward both fuss so. Lovely!

Author's reply

Thank you. There can never be too much fuss over our hobbit heroes. :)

Larner · 20 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

And so sweet an image here, of four Hobbits resting, content for the first time in months with what they have and one another's company!

Author's reply

This image of contented hobbits makes me very happy. I like to think that Faramir would take a special interest in ensuring their comfort.

PipMer · 20 April 2009 · Chapter 18: Healing Takes Many Forms

Aww, this was so sweet! Brings a smile to my face and a spring to my step as I get ready to go to work :D Thanks for this, shirebound!

Author's reply

Thank you, Pip. What a lovely thing to say. *beams*

Kara's Aunty · 29 October 2008 · Chapter 15: A Warm Sun Shining

Hello Shirebound, Oh, that was so sweet! Kittens and Hobbits and plenty of food. I could actually go a nice bowl of hot soup, but it's late and I should probably head off to bed soon. Thank you for these lovely stories. I will read more from the list you sent tomorrow after work. Goodnight! Maureen :)

Author's reply

Thank you, and goodnight to you! I hope you dream about your favorite hobbit(s). One more Sam ficlet you might enjoy is the first chapter of my story "Light Out of Darkness"... http://storiesofarda.com/chapterview.asp?sid=2266&cid=9106

Kara's Aunty · 29 October 2008 · Chapter 8: Finding Peace

Hello again! This was a very moving piece. So like Sam to struggle with guilt for things beyond his control. Sometimes that good Hobbit sense just deserts him when it's most needed. But that's Survivor's Guilt for you... I loved the scene between him and Elrond and had forgotten that they shared a common experience - trying to reason with a friend at the edge of sanity on the Cracks of Doom. Great work (again). Maureen :)

Author's reply

Thank you, Maureen! I'm so happy to contribute Sam stories for you to enjoy. It's fun to bring together unlikely companions, such as Sam and Elrond, and find out what they have in common.

Linda Hoyland · 15 September 2008 · Chapter 17: The Debt

A great AU with a nice twist at the end,as I assumed you meant Aragorn to begin with!

Author's reply

Thank you, Linda. I was hoping it wouldn't be obvious until the end that this was Arwen's point of view.

Lindelea · 14 September 2008 · Chapter 17: The Debt

Ah! Beautifully done. Nice interpretation of that line.

Author's reply

Many thanks. :)

eiluj · 14 September 2008 · Chapter 17: The Debt

Wow -- that's a different angle! Yet quite believable....

Author's reply

I'm very glad it rings true. Thank you.

Larner · 14 September 2008 · Chapter 17: The Debt

Great heart shall not be denied, perhaps, save in this--that Arwen realized her own responsibility and proper place too late to save Frodo. And so it is in debt to him she feels? All are--too deeply in debt, perhaps, to ever fully repay all that is owed. I love her here--but the same tale is never told the same twice by the proper Author of them all....

Author's reply

All are--too deeply in debt, perhaps, to ever fully repay all that is owed. It's comforting to me to write or read stories in which it is realized (hopefully in time, as in this case) that this is so. It was challenging for me to imagine this small scene through a different point of view.

Elflingimp · 14 September 2008 · Chapter 17: The Debt

Wow! I never thought of it from that angle , that Arwen might be the one to take it because of what Luthien did, I really loved this little piece. Hugs The Imp

Author's reply

Thank you very much. It's such fun to look the same thing from many different points of view.

PIppinfan1988 · 1 September 2008 · Chapter 15: A Warm Sun Shining

"Now I know we're not dead," he chuckled. "Tuck in, Sam. The roast potatoes are lovely." I *loved* that, lol! What a beautiful story to find while cruising the MEFAs. ;-) I really enjoyed this portrayal of Sam and Frodo finding themselves alive and in the keeping of the king. I enjoyed every word...as usual. :-)

Author's reply

Thank you so much! It was such a pleasure writing this with Mews. I'm happy when our hobbits are cared for so devotedly.

Larner · 27 January 2008 · Chapter 16: Just a Dream

Poor Frodo! Ah, yes--a rectal thermometer would be a unique form of torture for these poor folk! And dear Sam--seeking to see to it Frodo doesn't realize the source of the violations and willing to bar Elrond himself from repeating the affront on poor Frodo's person! Heh!

Author's reply

Sam is ever-vigilant, whatever the dire threat! Thank you; this was fun. :)

Grey Wonderer · 27 January 2008 · Chapter 16: Just a Dream

LOL Now that really is a nightmare!

Author's reply

Just when Sam thought his master was safe! *grins*

Baggins Babe · 27 January 2008 · Chapter 16: Just a Dream

Bwahahaha! Oh Shirebound, that is positively evil!!! Poor Frodo! As a former veterinary nurse who had to endure many a reproachful glare, I can appreciate our beloved hobbit's fears. Good old Sam, ready to protect his master from anything- even those dratted Elves and their fiendish devices!

Author's reply

Ohh, the stories you could tell! Yes, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a "reproachful glare" from Sam when he's in full protective-mode. Glad you enjoyed this silly snippet, BB!

Linda Hoyland · 26 January 2008 · Chapter 16: Just a Dream

Poor Frodo! He is lucky to have Sam around.

Author's reply

He certainly is. Sam will save him from well-meaning healers and their... devices. :)

WhitewolfofDarkness · 26 January 2008 · Chapter 16: Just a Dream

rolf! poor frodo! I thought giveing him medice was hard! ah the horror of ''fever-stick'!

Author's reply

At least poor Frodo believes it was only a dream! :)
