Oh. My. Goodness. Second time around, I am still laughing, out loud! This is simply... wonderful.

Liz · 12 December 2007 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight: Explosion

Elendiari; I am rereading this! And for the second time, this is still thoroughly hilarious. This is the first chapter that made me laugh out LOUD and quite hard, too. Thanks again for this marvelous story! Quite amusing.

hehehehehe...that is my favorite song ever by REM..hehehehe...*bravo mellon-nin...bravo...:D Faith, Countess of Slayage and Sue Hunter extrondinaire.

Author's reply

Thank you! I like that song, too, and couldn't resist using it.

Bodkin · 20 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

Elrond's response must have been rather surprising to all those who expected cool dignity. But it's more than understandable. In all his long centuries he's probably never experienced anything quite like this. And doubtless hopes he never will again. Even if he has to go to Valinor. Just to be certain.

Author's reply

Poor Elrond. He needs a long time to calm down. I can see him escaping to Valinor just to relax and be as far from hobbits as he can get. I wonder how he felt bout having Bilbo and Frodo alon? :)

TopazTook · 19 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

I kind of suspected that there was a reason Aragorn didn't take the other path...but I didn't suspect that it didn't exist, LOL. Besides, then we wouldn't have had the fun of this story.:) Elrond's victory dance and Bilbo's note that he has done the same on several occasions also made me chuckle. And now I have that song in my head "it's the end of the world as we know it...and I feel fine." Enjoyed the story!

Author's reply

Poor Aragorn. Can you imagine how chagrined he would have been if there had been a dry path that he didn't know about. The indignity! Elrond is far too happy to have all these troublesome visitors gone. Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Baggins Babe · 19 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

Love the image of stately Elrond punching the air. LOL! I was grinning from ear to ear reading this entire story - loved the thought of Aragorn and Arwen having a sneaky canoodle behind a curtain! I wonder if Elrond realises that they will be back. Do they sell farting powder in Gondor.............?

Author's reply

Elrond punching the air was something that I just couldn't resist writing: the mental image was hilarious, so I had to share it. :) Ah, the sneaky canoodling of young lovers. And Elrond being annoyed by it, too. There's a reason why Elrond leaves for the West, and it is not only because the time of Elves is over. He wants to get as far from hobbits as he can. Too bad they're taking a few with them... Thanks for reading!

Andrea · 19 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

Elrond suddenly gave a great shout of glee and jumped, fist pumping the air. “They’re gone! They’re gone! All will be normal again, for a while. Come, we must break out the wine! No more mishaps!” LOL! Let's give Elrond this feeling of victory and some time of peace and quiet! But *we* know, they are coming back ;-) I will miss this story, it was great fun to read it!

Author's reply

And Elrond will consider heading for the hills when he realizes it. Poor guy. :) Thanks for reading! I'm going to miss this story, too.

Julie · 19 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

ROTFLMAO!! Loved Elrond's "touch of dramatic" flair at the end and Arwen's remark of her father being all too serious. Merry and Pippin certainly know how to go about unhinging an Elven lord. I can so picture Bilbo doing a little victory dance as soon as the S-B's leave as well. Wonder what Elrond's reaction will be when he realizes that if the Fellowship succeeds the hobbits will eventually end up back at Rivendell?

Anonymous · 19 October 2005 · Chapter 16: Chapter Sixteen: Resolving the War

Tee Hee! I can just picture Boromir, Frodo, Bilbo, etc eating popcorn up in the peanut gallery as they make their running commentary. Liked Merry's ink prank from "The Patriot" as well, poor Aragorn and Arwen won't be smooching for a long while I'm afraid.

Larner · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

His moment of drama was overturned--and as soon as they are off at last, it's BREAK OUT THE WINE! THEY ARE GONE! Hilarious juxtaposition of images there, the serious and the hilarious! Oh, I love it!

Tigger · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

Awww...Poor Arwen and Bilbo, but if there's anyone able to give Arwen comfort, it's Bilbo. The two people they hold dearly in their hearts just left and they didn't know if they'd ever see them again. And then there's Elrond...*snicker* Doing the Dance of Joy after what the prank war did to Rivendell...Can't say I can blame the poor Elven Lord. Too much. ;o) I really will miss this delightful story. Thanks for all the laughs and twists and turns!!

Shieldmaiden of Rohan · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

Oh, I fell behind... The fake map was definitely an unexpected twist. And I loved the rest of the soon-to-be Fellowship spying on them. But absolutely nothing compares to Elrond doing a happy dance when they left. That was sheer, insane brilliance. :)

Merry_the_Hobbit · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

PERFECT!! I can even imagine Tolkien being proud! Thank you soooo much for writing such a wonderful story! A fellow hobbit--

harrowcat · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

This has been such a fun read right up to the very last line. I was howling with laughter at the normally so dignified Elrond's joy at seeing them go! I am surprised he let them past the borders on the way back but then Aragorn, legolas and Arwen weren't there then were they so how much trouble can they be? Famous last words!

Dreamflower · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

*ROTFL!!!* Poor Elrond! Well, at least we know *now* why he sent Merry and Pippin along--he had to get them *out* of Rivendell!! I love Aragorn and Arwen saying farewell behind the curtain. I chuckled maniacally when Elrond pondered on Merry and Pippin usurping the throne. And I howled "I KNEW IT!" when he did his bit at the end! So Bilbo recognized the "dance of the weary host" did he? I'm sure every time he closed the door behind Lobelia he had done that exact same thing! This was a hoot! Now...*whistles innocently and pushes eeny weeny bunny in your direction...how did he react when he realized the hobbits would be stopping off in Rivendell on the way home...*

TithenFeredir · 18 October 2005 · Chapter 999: The End

That was fun, Elendiari! I loved Elrond being so sober in front of the Fellowship and then doing his happy dance after they were gone. You can't really blame him! ~TF

Larner · 15 October 2005 · Chapter 16: Chapter Sixteen: Resolving the War

A wonderful resolution, I must say! And the ink will linger that long? Interesting. What kind of dye was in it? Poor Aragorn--no kisses until the dye wears off? Does that mean not until the wedding? Heh!

Author's reply

Actually, I got the ink prank from a movie, so I have no idea what was in the stuff to make it last so long. :) Arwen will see the light and Aragorn will get his kisses before he leaves. Poor man, he needs them!

Eruviluieth · 14 October 2005 · Chapter 16: Chapter Sixteen: Resolving the War

Excellent!!! The entire story is wonderful, but the end of this chapter is truly inspired! "Let's join the Quest for a bit of a lark to keep away boredom." Brilliant!!

Author's reply

Thank you! I still can't believe that this fic turned out as well as it did. :)

Bodkin · 14 October 2005 · Chapter 16: Chapter Sixteen: Resolving the War

The picture of the rest of the Fellowship skulking in the gallery to observe the outcome is just delicious. Especially Legolas and Boromir collapsed with a fit of the giggles. Gandalf's bonding plan certainly worked! Except possibly between Aragorn and Merry/Pippin. I can somehow see those two getting stuck with most of the latrine-pit digging jobs over the next weeks. At least poor Elrond is close to getting his house back to its usual calm serenity. And then his head might stop aching!

Author's reply

Somehow I can't imagine Aragorn tempting the hobbits' ire with latrine digging. But they've all truly bonded now, so yes, Gandalf's plan did work. Lol! Ah, Elrond. We'll be seeing more of him in the epilogue. ^_^

grumpy · 13 October 2005 · Chapter 16: Chapter Sixteen: Resolving the War

The war was started over a old fake map, I love it, and i thing Gandalf was having a good time with it as well. So the hobbits want to go on another adventure, hmmm, seems like a good time for the ranger to take them on a small hike up a very cold mountain.

Author's reply

Thank you! Yes, things were not all they seemed. Poor Fellowship. :)

GamgeeFest · 13 October 2005 · Chapter 16: Chapter Sixteen: Resolving the War

Wonderful conclusion to the war! lol I love that Gandalf couldn't keep a straight face, that everyone else was spying on the conference, that Merry was still peeved at the end because he was tricked by a pretend map and that Aragorn let it go with grace, even though his teeth will be black for the next month. Can't wait for the epilogue. :)

Author's reply

Thanks! Everyone is feeling good about the war ending, Elrond especially. Poor guy. His reaction is in the epilogue.
