This was a totally fascinating and most enjoyable read. It was wonderful to see Frodo happy for a change. I am truly sorry to see it end.
Author's reply
Thanks so much Tari! But there is much more where that one came from. There's "Bear me Away" a sort of prequel, and "Light from the West" a companion-piece to both, and "West of the Sun, East of the Moon" the tale of Frodo and Sam's reunion in the west. And even a couple of sequels to those, although they do not involve Frodo so much. Nearly all my LotR fanfics are interconnected in some way or another.
Thanks so much again for commenting Tari! Playing fairy godmother to Frodo was such a joy, I rather miss it sometimes.

This is wonderful. You have a real gift for words. I can see whatever you are describing in my minds eye. I feel as if I'm right there with Frodo in that beautiful land beyond Middle-Earth. I do hope you are still writing.
Author's reply
Thanks so much Tari! I'm glad I managed to bring the Blessed Realm to life for you. Tolkien barely described it at all, so I felt free to make it my own.
This little romance was the first in a series I wrote about Frodo in the West. I hope you'll see fit to check out some of the others as well!
Thanks once more for commenting.

I have *no* idea how I missed this lovely story before, and I'm grateful to Larner for showcasing it. You know how happy I am when Frodo finds healing and joy, and this is a magical, gentle, loving story. I'm glad I read it.
Author's reply
I'm glad you read it too dearie! Thanks so much! It has been a joy playing fairy godmother to him...LOL
Larner's version still takes my breath away!

I enjoyed this one very much as well! It's really interesting to read those 3 different stories all on the same events, but focusing on different parts. Very good!

Why thanks again! Pssst--you can see the stories on my website with illustrations at http://delroz.bravepages.com/elves/dreamflower.html (in case you didn't know that already!) This was the first one of the trilogy. Another strange and offbeat idea, but one that wouldn't leave me alone. So glad to please!

As I promised, I went directly over here and started reading this story.
And I found it fascinating!
I remember the old tale of one of the Tooks, who went off and married a fairy. But I would never have thought that the same thing could happen to Frodo!
At first I thought, she was really dangerous, but it turned out, that her lack of human feelings was due to her immortality. And that changed completely after she was married.
I'm glad, that they both found happiness and good old Sam came just in time to see it all. He's still struggling with the "Mr.", isn't he ;-)
One last question: How do you know, that I come from Germany? Must be my English ;-) Anyway: Vielen Dank für diese schöne Geschichte!
Author's reply
hi Andrea! Sooo glad you liked it!! I got the idea well over a year ago...and I kind of shoved it onto the back burner and forgot about it for a while, maybe didn't think I could really make it work. Then I found the plot-bunny about the dolphins, and then I thought, well...I suppose they probably don't have fairies in the Blessed Realm, but what if she came from the sea and was a sort of mermaid or water-sprite? And then I remembered about the Took ancestor taking a fairy-wife...and so the story started taking shape. Wasn't even sure when I started writing it whether it was going to end up being tragic or happily-ever-after...and of course I decided on the latter course!
I'm sure Anemone would have ended up being dangerous if she had not acquired a soul, however, at least to Frodo, and without actually meaning to be. I thought of the faery-folk as having the sort of simplistic emotions as animals have, but with superhuman powers, and that could end up being truly dangerous to humans. I suppose maybe she's a sexier version of the Little Mermaid and Frodo is a smarter version of the Prince LOL
Yes, old habits die very hard, especially when you're old yourself! lol
Your English is fine (better than my German;))--it was the gmx.net in your email address that gave you away! I have some German friends who have that provider also. My best friend in the whole world is Germany (she's with t-online, however) and I got to visit her 4 years ago in Waldheim, near Dresden. It's a piece of paradise!
Thanks sooo much for reading and for your lovely reviews!

That was amazing! You had my mouth hanging open on the last chapter -- with joy for Frodo and Sam and amazment again at the fairy-dance! I don't know what to say! That was just gorgeous.
Author's reply
Thank you, thank you! Couldn't very well end it without a genuine fairy ballet, now could I? Hey, did you notice I named one of Anemone's daughters after you...sort of? lol
Sooo glad you enjoyed the story...now I can get started on your birthday piece........*gggg*

Apparently accepting mortality is a bit more painful on those of faery than for Elves. Oh, dearie me!
Author's reply
Oh yes...I would say birth is painful whether it's a body getting born or a soul. But sometimes there are compensations...and then the birth pains may be forgotten!
I think I was vaguely recalling the Little Mermaid acquiring a pair of legs (book version, not film *g*) and what pain it caused her fish tail to rend in two...ouch!

This is lovely! Is there more, or are you finished now? *pout* I hope you're not!!
"the fine art of discretion" indeed! I don't think Frodo should (or could, for that matter) change her one bit!
I'm totally loving this little story. And Anemone is the perfect name for her, it blends with her personality perfectly. My friends and I like to choose what flower the others would be if they were one, and Anemone is the perfect flower (and name!) for your little fairy -- or should I say Frodo's fairy-turned-mortal.
Farawyn
Author's reply
Oh noooooo precious, there will be more, there will be more! Couldn't let it end without our heroine getting a few lessons in what it's like to be mortal, could we?
Yes, good thing she's living in the Blessed Realm and not in "polite society"...just imagine how she'd go over THERE! lol
Anemone means "wind-maiden" actually, so it's got to be just right for a faery-girl, even one from the sea. So glad you're enjoying this!

Armariel, who is a Rose because that's her name *g*

My! Glad I waited till the next chapter was up 'til I read this. Don't think I could have stood the suspense of what was happening to Anemone.
Next chapter, quick!
Author's reply
That was why I worked far into the night putting the next one up. I was like, oh dear, how will anyone be able to stand the wait? I'm a reader too, after all *g*

"I would much rather look at you."
Sweet! This is great. Will you have an epilouge with Sam coming and seeing that Frodo has married a fairy? I can just see his look of absolute disbelief, and yet happiness that his beloved Mr. Frodo finally found his soul-mate.
This story is amazing! It keeps me totally concentrated on it - usually I'm still thinking in the back of my mind that I've got an appointment at so-and-so time and this and that, but this is so ... what's the word... enthralling. I love it!!!!!!!!

So glad you're enjoying this! Sometimes I think I didn't quite see what I was letting myself in for, trying to write about a paradise in which no serpent could intrude....then again, ya never know...............
Thanks for reviewing--I always savor your comments! (Still hoping to see a little something-or-other from you here one of these days;<))

Love--the greatest of perils, the greatest of joys, so dangerous the room in which it is studied in the Department of Mysteries is ever kept locked.
Yes, Frodo is perilous, as she is perilous. But if both can find joy--I'd so love for Frodo to have known that joy....
Author's reply
Ah yes.....Paradise Lost or Paradise Regained? We shall see.....

An interesting love affair for Frodo, with a dolphin Selky.
Author's reply
Selky--well, I've heard of those but didn't really think of it! Wow!
I originally meant for this story to be light-hearted but I fear it's going to end up being rather sad, then again, maybe it won't.....We'll just see how it turns out.....hmmmmm *g*

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's all I can type! This is just all too delightful. I can't wait for the next chapter. I love the bit with Gandalf at the end...... and the part with Frodo becoming part of the water and stars, and singing..... and how he obviously loved Anemone from the first.
Author's reply
Strange the things the Muse dumps on me, without warning and without even telling me how it's going to turn out....
I've often thought "Anemone" would be a pretty name for a girl, but have never heard of anyone actually being named that!
thanks bunches once more,
