I love this story! And I think that the characterisation of Estella was really good. It's nice to see them spending time together as just friends, though do I detect a hint of Merry feeling a tiny something more? Maybe not; maybe it's just my romantic nature...Anyway, I love it :)

Thank *you* for being kind enough to leave a reply! This was just a random bit of fluff that surprised me as well! :)

A sweet tale of early love and a nice fore-shadowing of things to come. We all need friends to encourage us in our endeavours.

I'm so happy that Merry and Estella have each other to lean on -- especially since their futures hold so much uncertainty and dark things. Thank you for reading and being kind enough to review!

And what a knight he in time became!

Now that's sweet. I love it that Estella can see all these qualities in Merry, and that she is so open about it. Good foreshadowing of the Quest. (You didn't mention how long before the Quest, but I'm assuming this must be some time after Merry came of age, but before the Conspiracy.)

Thank you very much, and thank you for reading. (I hope all is well with you after the hurricane. I remember for a few days there being uneasy and just beside myself -- not only because of what happened, but because I was thinking of you! After reading all the things on Marigold's LJ I didn't know what happened. To think, a fellow hobbit in danger and none there to hold out a helping hand! But, I trust everything is as well as it can be. Bless you I'm so glad you're alright :) I always pictured Merry and Estella to be such a lovely couple. I'm glad you enjoyed my portrayal of them both. :)
