Loved this! A/A are so sweet! ^_^
Raksha The Demon · 13 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Harishdane's Fall
A tense and searing chapter! I hope Aragorn regains his right mind; and that Faramir doesn't bleed to death...
RS · 13 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Harishdane's Fall
AWESOME!!!! What an EXCELLENT chapter!!! The descriptions of the different accounts of the battle is so vivid that I was right in the middle it. I bit my nails in this chapter as much as I did the original version. I thought it was brilliant that Aragorn used Arwen's sword to bring down Harishdane. Love Aragorn's words "She is mine to kill!". Revenge is so sweet! (Evil smile---I really am a peaceful person!). Another chapter that had me at the edge of my seat. Keep it up!!!
Author's reply
Yeah, I'm a very peaceful person either... unless it comes to writing. *g* I use up all my aggressive energy in chapters like this one. LOL - T.

This was very exciting, you kept me guessing all the way through ! I promise I've not forgotten your story, some domestic things have cropped up as well as the extra editing of my own work.but once I have my next chapter posted,I'll turn my attention to Untrodden Paths

No need to hurry! Life's stressful enough, so take your time when doing things you like. - T.
BM · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Harishdane's Fall
THis is GREAT!!!! I like this ending so much better than the first one, and I thought that one was wonderful! Please, hurry with more--I'm dying to see how this ends! Great job, you guys are 2 terrific writers, with a talent for characterization and scenes--your characters are so rich and life-like, they leap out of the story, and your scenes are so detailed I'm swallowed whole into the story and hear the sounds of battle all around me. YOu guys are top-knotch writers, please keep up the good work!
Author's reply
Welcome to the story! Thanks for your review. Just one little thing: the main story with all 39 chapters was a co-work with Katzilla (she wrote Rohan-based characters, and I wrote the Gondor-based characters and the Easterlings). This litte "twist" was just my idea of how different it would have turned out if Éomer had not been there on time to save his friend in Dunland. - T.
RS · 6 January 2006 · Chapter 4: Battle
AAARRRGGHHH!! Foiled by those Rohirrims!!! THE CAVALRY ARRIVES!! Your description of the charge is so breathtaking. I was starting to sweat bullets. Asentis is still alive. And so is Gishvane. I wonder how this is going to play out. So now Faramir is taking on his King!!!! What is he going to have to do?My heart is palpitating. Can't wait for the next update.
Author's reply
Oh, dear RS, should I give you a hanky for wiping sweat off your brow? Please, calm down a little so you can enjoy the rest of the story. *g* - T.
Linda Hoyland · 1 January 2006 · Chapter 4: Battle
I just loved this version !It is even more exciting than the other !
Author's reply
Uhum, thanks a lot, Linda! Yet - as pointed out - it is just a mind game, nothing to interfere with the main plot. I just had time and too many ideas on my mind... I'm sure there are much more possibilities to explore. This is just one. - T.
Ainu Laire · 29 December 2005 · Chapter 4: Battle
Scene: The Citadel, right outside on a bench by the White Tree. Laire is wringing her hands nervously as she reads the chapter. Once she finishes, she lets out a long breath. The guards nearby are giving her somewhat odd looks... but then again, they are used to her odd behavior. Oh my! What a chapter! My sincere apologies for not reviewing the last chapter. School kept me so busy, it was not funny. But now that I am on vacation... it is all good. This makes a great b-day present (I'm turning 16 tomorrow... might already be the 30th where you live, though O.o). But anyways, what a fabulous chapter! I shall also add thoughts of Ch. 3 here... but first, I need to find Aragorn. Aragorn: I am right here. *jumps* Aragorn! Where'd you come from? You just like... snuck up on me! That scared me! Aragorn: *chuckles* You just need to be more observant. Now, what is it that you wished to show me? This. New chapter. Aragorn: *groans* Oh, what fun do I experience now? ... well, you *almost* escaped... but wait, first see Ch 3. There you are tied to that lovely cross thing. Aragorn: Fabulous. *nod* And Faramir calls a retreat. And you are exhausted and all... and Asentis and Harishdane are really, really mean and stupid... I really want to hurt them... but see here! Chapter 4 is not that bad... no, wait, actually it is. The priestess frees you, but because of Harishdane's witchcraft, you can't move... and you go to strike Faramir! *guards look at her oddly* Aragorn: This is... quite lovely. Anything actually good happening for me or Gondor? Actually, yes. Eomer came! The Rohirrim save your sorry butts again. Aragorn: ... ... well, it's *true*. But I'm sure you'll save them... one day. Aragorn: We saved them from Dunland, remember? ... well, I don't think that *counts*... and even if it does, you still owe them for Pelennor and when Eorl the Young came in. Aragorn: I wasn't king during either period of time, so I do not 'owe' them anything. Yea, yea, yea, sure... well, I loved this chapter, Mrs. Timmy ^^ Hope life is treating you well, and hope to hear from you soon! *bows and exits*
Author's reply
Laire, this was just too good to be true. *author still chuckles* Belated birthday greetings from my side. I hope you celebrated Gondorian-style!! Well, let's see. Aragorn does not approve of the way the author deals with him? Now, come on, other readers would very much miss excitement if he could just slip away, escape, vanquish his foes. Just with a snap of his fingers? Boring stuff. So this might just go on a little bit. But - assure him, please - there is an end in sight. Hugs from me, too. - T.

Hmmm, pull back, release, twang, thack!! This arrow things work really well, I am going to find some very large arrows, and give them to Arwin. An elf should be able to hit Harishdane and make her die.

RS · 12 December 2005 · Chapter 3: Preparations
My nerves are starting to twitch!!! The Easterling laughing at the Gondorians for their cowardice??? GRRRRRRRRR!!!!. If I can get my hands on them....... And Ridasha is starting to irritate me.. Does she really think they will they will succeed?? OK,(ten deep breaths). I know the outcome of this whole fic but you are starting to get me worried!!! I am so pleased that Arwen has a more physical and authoritative role here. And why shouldn't she?? Is she not the queen? Is it not her duty in the absence of the King? I love her take charge attitude. "...your concern, my prince, is the whole land with its entire people. If the king falls it will be for the sake of his kingdom". Those words must have broken Arwen's heart. How brave of her. Poor Faramir. He did the right thing (just like Aragorn would have wanted). "But let me assure you, that I will not accept King Elessar's death unless there is no other option to throw back the enemy". Well no wonder my nerves are shot!! With a cliff hanger like that?? Very intense chapter. I LOVE IT!!! And as for your inquiry on the word "twitterpated". Forgive me, I mispelled it the first time. The definition that I use is the flighty, exciting feeling you get when you think about/see the object of your affection. The ever increasing ecceleration of heart beat and body temperature as the result of being romantically excited. You know, like the first time I met my husband or seeing Strider...I mean Viggo!!! It was used in Disney's BAMBI, the owl said, "the birds gettin' all twitterpated!" Hope that helped.. Will be waiting for the next chapter!
Author's reply
That helped very much! Thanks. *author adds it to personal dictionary.* Yes, Arwen's role should be more than just being a beautiful decoration. She's not Eowyn, that's not her part, but she is more than just a 'wife'. Why should the Easterlings not think of victory? Harishdane's whole scheme did work out perfectly! And the people are desparate enough to believe in everything for their own sake of survival. - T.
RS · 28 November 2005 · Chapter 2: Rhûn
You know, after reading this chapter I had to tell you before going on with my rambling review. I am so glad that you are writing. You have such an amazing talent. You know how to get a hold of your readers and have them want more. You know how to convey your characters feelings and it transfers on to the reader. Your story lines are never boring.. I love the subject of Aragorn, but more so with Arwen. But though your stories are mostly of Aragorn, you add enough of Arwen in there to satisfy this reader. The way you write their feelings toward each other just leave me twitterpaited. I really don't like some of the so called "fluff" that I sometimes read on other fics. And your fics are not fluff. Believe me. Great action, angst (boy, can you write that) and just enough romance!! I am so thrilled that I have discovered your fanfics!!! Anyway..back to the review. I'm not sure if I like this version better or the original. They are both great!!! Of course I love the fact that Arwen has a more physical role in this one. So she rode ahead of the Rohirrim!! What lies ahead for her?? I love the fact that Eomer wanted to comfort her. I hope Aragorn revealing himself to Ridasha does not backfire!! She sure is determined to get her people land..no matter how they get it!! Seems like she's becoming a little bit to sure and cocky. Is she going to become on of the "bad guys"? And my feelings for Harishdane and Asentis are both the same. I still want to beat them up!!! MORE, MORE, MORE!! PS..Don't know if you have Thanksgiving where you live. If you did, hope you had a wonderful one!!
Author's reply
Good Lord, RS, do you know what happens to me when praised too much? My head might blow up and I can't wear a hat anymore. Imagine that in these cold winter days! -- OK, just kidding. My way to say thanks for such a wonderful review. *author clears throat* You might be so kind as to explain the word "twitterpaited" for me. I couldn't find it in my dictionary and it sounds like a word I want to know! The little "twist" wasn't intended to be 'better'. It was just my mind on overdrive thinking that there were others solutions possible... And you might think of even more than I came up with! We don't have Thanksgiving around here (Germany), but since there are many 'fashions' coming from the US I suppose, it's just a matter of time *g* - T.

Wow. Absolutely brilliant chapter. I'd leave a longer review, but it is late and I need to get to bed. One thing. Did you get my email? I sent it quite a few days ago... around Tues or Wed, I think. I would still like to keep in touch with you :)

Don't worry, Laire, I'll stay in touch. *hug* - T.

Oh goodness! You have literally made my day. This is most wonderful. An alternate ending? With an even more evil and effective Hardishane? You mean I get more chances to have her be the villain I love to hate? Honestly, woman, you have my heart a'palpitatin'! I don't suppose being told you're wonderful wears thin, does it? (Oh, BTW, I ALMOST forgot -- wonderful chapter, although truthfully, I'm going to go back and re-read chapter 30 of 'Twilight of the Gods' to get a better idea of what was happening at that point). Thank you for this most pleasant surprise. I posted a note about this over at the Aragorn Angst Yahoo Group and on my Profile Page at FF.Net so hopefully, you'll get even more readers who have yet to discover your classic stories. (Now, now, Timmy, don't let your head get too swollen from all this gushing praise. Winter's coming and you want a hat that fits)! Thanks. Oh, I may have said that already.
Author's reply
What hat?? Since you started writing reviews, Viggomaniac, there's no stetson, base cap or woolly hat ever fitting. Imagine my cold ears now, it's winter over here!! Anyway, thanks for placing advertisements! - T.
RS · 14 November 2005 · Chapter 1: No Relief
Yeehaw!!!! Just when I thought it was over (much to my chagrin)..We now have an extended version with a different twist!! I am delighted!!! I LIKE IT!!. My old feelings are coming back again regarding the villain that I love to hate (you know who). I think she got away easy in the first version. Can we at least inflict some pain on her during the trek to Rhun?? Is that me talking?? Pardon me, she just brings out the evil in me!! Atta girl Arwen!!! I knew it was hard for her to just sit idly by and wait for her man!!! I love her determination. So Harishdane thinks the elves have forgotten about middle earth and other races that they will give her a pass to just simply waltz through their neighborhood!! Hope she gets a surprise!!! Simply loving this. Cannot wait for the next update!
Author's reply
Hi RS, love to entertain you a little further with this *smile* Harishdane is a villain to hate, so put all your enery in it and be a happy camper the rest of the day! But you wouldn't want her wasted on the trek, ey? There has to be more than that and will be. - T.

Very good twist to the story. Makes me dislike Harrishdane even more, is that possible. Plus hope that the elves will somehow pop out the the woods, maybe a ent or two, to the rescue.

Hi Grumpy and welcome to the little *twist*. And, yes, go ahead and warm up to hating Harishdane. You'll have all reason you need *author grins malevolently*. - T.
