Thank you! I get so inspired by the Professor's world.

Mysterious Jedi · 20 December 2005 · Chapter 1

I'm glad to find yet another of your lovely stories. I was wondering what wedding custom you would use! Is Carol your sister or something? <>< Saved from sin through Christ, mj

Author's reply

Thank you, MJ! Carol is my sister-in-law, and a very gifted singer/songwriter.

Queen Galadriel · 12 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Aww! What a sweet, hobbity thing to do! Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue-I like that. :-) And what a beautiful, moving song! God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Thank you so much. Ah, these inventive and affectionate hobbits -- I just can't resist them!

Anso the Hobbit · 7 December 2005 · Chapter 1

You wrote that beautiful song? Wow! *bows humbly in awe of your talent* What a wonderful story! I love it when the hobbits bestow gifts upon others or show people a Shire custom. This was really great. :D

Author's reply

Thank you, Anso! That song was a co-production between my sister-in-law (who began it) and me (who finished it).

pipspebble · 6 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Oh, so lovely! And each gift so perfectly suited to the giver. Especially Pippin's song! My dear, I knew you were talented, but had no idea you were such a gifted poet, too! Sweet, sweet story, and thank you for sharing your gifts! :-)

Author's reply

Thank you so much! What a joy to share this happy, hobbity story. :D

Maid of Ithilien · 5 December 2005 · Chapter 1

What a lovely, lovely story. And the song was so beautiful. The gifts were just perfect! Thank you for sharing with us.

Author's reply

Thank *you*! I'm so happy you enjoyed this.

Grumpy · 4 December 2005 · Chapter 1

What a wonderful story. It was great of the hobbits to think that Aragorn's and Arwin's marriage must start off right. The presents they got great, thoughtful and I love the recipes one.

Author's reply

Thank you, Grumpy! This was wonderfully fun to write. :D

RS · 4 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Beautiful. Those hobbits are so sweet. Truly a touching story. I almost cried when Frodo presented Gilraen's recipe's for "something borrowed". A wonderful fic and I truly enjoyed it.

Author's reply

Thank you so much. I'm happy this touched you so, and really appreciate your kind words.

Baggins Babe · 4 December 2005 · Chapter 1

This was a delightful story, Shirebound. How sweet of the hobbits to want Aragorn and Arwen's marriage to get off on the right foot, and what perfectly suitable gifts. The bird feeder was especially beautiful and Pippin's song was wonderful. A wonderfully happy, hobbity story which made my day.

Author's reply

Thank you, BB! What a challenge it was, to match each gift to the giver. I'm so happy they seem appropriate. Nothing can stop this marriage, now! :D

Andrea · 4 December 2005 · Chapter 1

"Oh I know the reason that bird can sing -- In his darkest hour, he believes in spring." That song is really gorgeous! Aragorn should not have feared, they spent all their money, for these presents have a greater value. They come directly from the heart :)

Author's reply

Thank you! That particular lyric you highlighted was written by my amazing sister-in-law many years ago. Those are my two favorite lines in the song, too! Indeed, gifts from the heart truly mean the most. :D

Tigger · 4 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Awww...Leave it to the hobbits to realize they had to help Aragorn and Arwen be properly blessed on their marriage. This was so touching and heartfelt. I loved Pippin's song too. What a lovely gift from Gondor's Littlest Knight. Thanks for sharing this w/us Shirebound. Wonderful as always!! :o)

Author's reply

What would a marriage be without the proper hobbity blessing/gifts? Thank *you* so much, Tigger.

Julia · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

What a perfect little gem of a story! Put a big ole smile on my face, and that's not easily done.

Author's reply

Now *that* big a big ole smile on *my* face, Julia. I'm so happy this delighted you so. I had a wonderful (and challenging) time writing it. :D

Armariel · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Thank you! And ohhhh, that tree is definitely one of your most lovely creations! *admires*

Larner · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Bless the Hobbits for wishing to bless this marriage as they have. Yes, very, very fitting.

Author's reply

Thank you, Larner. And such a gracious King and Queen to let the hobbits gift them according to their own culture!

harrowcat · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Ooh what a treat tonight Shirebound. And what wonderful gifts. I especially loved the song. Do you have music to go with it?

Author's reply

Thank you, harrowcat. There *is* music to go with the song; perhaps we'll meet someday, and I can sing it to you! :D

SlightlyTookish · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

This is wonderfully inventive! I don't think I've ever read a story about the hobbits choosing gifts for the king and queen before. I love the gifts you chose, each one suited the hobbit who gave it perfectly! I especially adored Pippin's song - such an appropriate gift from someone you've written as having musical talent in other stories (can you guess that I'm thinking of "Healed" right now? *grin*) Your Aragorn and Arwen are so wonderfully in love, too. This was just perfect in every way, I loved it :)

Author's reply

Thank you so much! You know how much I love happy hobbits, and this was their chance to make sure their king and queen were happy and taken care of, too. Oh my, if only we could have heard more of Pippin's lovely singing voice in the movies.... *sigh*

Frodo Baggins · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Shirebound, This was a funny little ficlet. I always love your stories. You do all of the characters so well!! And Pippin's song was absolutely gorgeous! Keep writing! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Author's reply

Thank you, Frodo! I'm so happy you enjoyed this. And believe me, I *will* keep writing -- the hobbits just won't let me stop! :D

Laerien · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

You know I am not a great hobbit fan (sorry, we are not the same :o) ), but I sometimes find some gems which I can enjoy immensely! And this was among them. Great work, the idea itself is so cute. And the hobbits were lovely!

Author's reply

Thank you, Laerien! I know we all have different characters we most enjoy reading/writing about. I appreciate you checking out this hobbity story, and am glad you enjoyed it!

songspinner · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

That was perfectly marvelous! Yes, I can see the four hobbits so very concerned that something was missing from such a solemn wedding. And the gifts were definitely right...I gave a song as a gift once, and it's fun when it's unexpected. The character detail here were wonderful and quite true to Tolkien's hobbits, I think.

Author's reply

Thank you so much! I can just imagine the revelry of a hobbity wedding, and how amazed the hobbits might be at one so brief and formal!

Pearl Took · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Lovely!! *loud applause and happy tears* Each gift is perfect. And so we discover another talent - you're a published songwriter!! 'Tis a lovely song and I would love to hear "Pippin" sing it! Thank you for a most lovely gift :)

Author's reply

Thank you, Pearl! (My friends and family and I went through a long and lovely songwriting period awhile back; it was fun to finally find a place for one of them in my hobbity world.) I'm so happy you enjoyed these gifts. :D

Nilmandra · 3 December 2005 · Chapter 1

Oh, this was lovely! I am glad the hobbits thought to bring their own traditions to Gondor... and as Pippin says, you can't be too careful about marriages! LOL, and your king and queen have just the perfect grace to accept the gifts in the manner intended.

Author's reply

It's fun to think that the hobbits will now forever believe that *they* helped this Royal marriage to flourish. And who knows... perhaps they're right! :D
