Accepting loss can be quite difficult. I know I seemed to see my little one everywhere for a time. Wonder where he's ended up.

Starfire_Moonlight · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 12: Small Things
Oh yes, the little things will always make one remember. Weither it a song or a simple trick of the mind and heart, one will always remember the dearly missed by those little things.
Queen Galadriel · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 12: Small Things
We must...not...stop to...rest...or she...she'll get...ahead...and I won't...be...able...to keep...up. Breathe! *grins* I'm teasing. Whew! You're going to set a record for the most chapter postings in a day, Antane! :) But you know I just love it! Now to the reason for this review. :) Oh, this is such a beautiful chapter, and you captured so perfectly what I was thinking of earlier today. My mom was talking about our little pet bird who died when I was eleven, and I, silly as I am, just got all teary-eyed, thinking of how he never would perch but must sleep lying down and how he loved cornbread of all things. And it's been years! But yes, that is so true to life, and very touching. Poor, dear Sam. But bless Rosie and Frodo-lad and Elanor for being there! :) God bless, Galadriel
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Springtime
Finding the fulfillment again is difficult, but includes just this form of remembrance. Was thinking of my own ones gone from me while I read this, and found Tony sitting on his side of the bed, and Mom petting the poms.
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 10: Learning to Forgive
Very insightul, of course. Frodo is healing at last, and is almost ready to fully open to the new joys he must know now.
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 9: Birthday Celebrations
Yes, the joy of healing, the joy of finding the joy to share instead of the loss to divide.
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 7: Frodo of the Shire
Two Frodos of the Shire--one just accepting life, the other re-accepting it and finding himself anew.
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 6: Firsts
Sorry about reading out of order, but am catching up as I can. Lovely look at the first winter and the memories of the great joy that was. Beautifully done.
Starfire_Moonlight · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 10: Learning to Forgive
Yes! Finally, he sees the light! Lol, just kiddin'. He's been seein' the light, just hasn't let it sink in that he needs to forgive himself. Yes, all those things he did were pretty bad, but it's time to put those aside and find rest and healing. I could go on and on 'bout this all day ya know, but I ain't ;)
Starfire_Moonlight · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Springtime
'I remember you rushing over to my home and nearly pulling my arm off, you were so anxious to get started, but you remembered your manners in time to ask if I could come out.' Wow, sounds like somethin' I'd do, lol. I could very well imagin Frodo being excited over a new book and can't wait to tell Sam 'bout it. 'Mr. Merry had said you weren’t truly gone if we remembered all the places you had been and the memories we had of you there.' *sigh* So true. As long as one remembers the places another was is gone was, they are never really gone.
harrowcat · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Springtime
Oh this was a treat to find two chapters posted since I last had a chance to check Antane. And two very different feels to them. To forgive yourself is the hardest of things even though others have also failed. I like how Elrond is helping from his own personal experience. And to de-discover Frodo through the places he loved is wonderful.
Queen Galadriel · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 11: Springtime
Very sweet. Going back to the old places or even looking at the departed loved one's things has always been the hardest part for me when I'm grieving, but it's so healing to. I'm glad Sam, Merry, and Pippin could experience that. God bless, Galadriel
Larner · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 8: Still Together
A good March thirteenth for both then, and the healing in the presence of Iluvatar.
Author's reply
Thanks for your continued kind reviews of this, Larner! I haven't made it to Ties of Family and your others yet but now that you say he's going to be dancing, I'm going to have to read them! Lovely just to think of him doing it again! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Queen Galadriel · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 10: Learning to Forgive
Oh, I'm so glad Frodo is finally learning to see the truth and forgive himself! And I'm as anxious as they are for the glad reunion! :) God bless, Galadriel
harrowcat · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 9: Birthday Celebrations
The pain has lessened enough that I can feel that now. I don’t miss you any less, but I can remember you now with a smile, instead of with tears. What words can I use but yours. You mark the path through grief to acceptance and joy so well.
harrowcat · 16 February 2006 · Chapter 8: Still Together
Well if he couldn't be as well as Sam wanted and not notice the date then time spent in that room and being uplifted by all who love him is the next best thing. And to know the awareness that others are thinking of you, even when so far away, is a great gift.
Queen Galadriel · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 9: Birthday Celebrations
Oh, I love the image of Frodo with Elanor in his arms, both sleeping peacefully. And I'm glad they could both feel a measure of happiness on these special days. God bless, Galadriel
Starfire_Moonlight · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 8: Still Together
Even far away, Frodo still hears his Sam's voice. I would imagin so, as close as they were. And the song is simply beautiful, Galadriel really has a talent in creating them. Update soon! You know we all love it! :D
Queen Galadriel · 15 February 2006 · Chapter 8: Still Together
Oh, I'm so glad Frodo could still hear Sam's voice! :) :) The thought of Frodo being ill and Sam not being there to comfort him and probably worrying so much about him makes me blink back a tear every time. And thank you for fixing the punctuation in that song! :) Right after I sent it I looked over it and saw that I'd left out a comma, and I kept meaning to mention it and didn't-so glad you saw and fixed it. :) God bless, Galadriel
Queen Galadriel · 14 February 2006 · Chapter 7: Frodo of the Shire
What a beautiful chapter! I love to imagine that after our remarkable Frodo Baggins left the Shire, there was always a Frodo there, even if not by the name of Baggins. And I like this especially: Lady Galadriel has been such a great help. She has been one of those who have held me and I felt like a child in his mother’s arms. I can't say why, it's just...I've read so many fics about Galadriel, and while it's true that she really messed up, it's rather humbling. It's silly, but when you have a pen name like that, it's like you share something with that character in a sense. Can't wait for more! God bless, Galadriel
Starfire_Moonlight · 14 February 2006 · Chapter 6: Firsts
The firsts are always hard. It feels strange, without a loved there who is always there. But, with time, it all will better.
Starfire_Moonlight · 14 February 2006 · Chapter 7: Frodo of the Shire
'I have confidence that when you come, you will not see the same person you left on the shore, instead it will be the one I feared so greatly would never exist again, Frodo of the Shire, not Frodo of the Nine Fingers or the Ring-bearer, but simply your Frodo.' I don't doubt that one bit. When Sam arrives there, he will see his master just as he was before the Ring and the Quest. And that sweet, how Frodo-lad has Frodo's eyes. :) The healing process goes not for only for Frodo and Sam, but you add Galadriel. Three sides of the healing triangle, I suppose.
harrowcat · 14 February 2006 · Chapter 7: Frodo of the Shire
I am constantly amazed and in total awe at how well you manage and portray Frodo and Sam's journey to healing. And now you add Galadriel. But she has come to peace with it all and with herself. You are so right - the path to peace goes through the sorrow and pain and not around it.
harrowcat · 13 February 2006 · Chapter 6: Firsts
There are so many firsts to endure in that first year when you are grieving - even with the hope of seeing your loved one again. I think that to try and live without even that hope must be worse than impossible.
Queen Galadriel · 13 February 2006 · Chapter 6: Firsts
Oh, I love this. It's so bittersweet. The firsts will be so painful, yes, but I'm so glad to see Sam making sweet memories with his daughter. And this is priceless. I hope there’s a garden for you to sit in, meadows to walk in, libraries to read in and your bed has a mattress you can sink into with lots of feather pillows for you to have blissful dreams in. Awwww! God bless, Galadriel
