How wonderful! I'm so glad Dreamflower pointed me to this story. This is a delightful scene.

Lovely,,, just lovely. I so love the whole concept. Thank you.
Rhyselle · 27 February 2007 · Chapter 4: A Wizard's Wish [Minas Tirith: Gandalf, Manwë]
I enjoyed all of these pieces but this last one left me with a smile on my face, tears in my eyes and joy in my heart. How very, very lovely! Thank you for sharing these wonderful little fics with us!
Dreamflower · 16 January 2007 · Chapter 4: A Wizard's Wish [Minas Tirith: Gandalf, Manwë]
I'm positive I left feedback at one time for this lovely gift! Perhaps on your LJ? At any rate, it's quite amiss of me to have never left it here as well! This was a wonderful conversation, with Gandalf at his most exasperatingly Gandalf-est! Yet, all in all, he got what he wanted. *sigh* Lucky wizard. Wish I could just ask for a hobbit or two...
Dreamflower · 16 January 2007 · Chapter 3: Drabble: A Fateful Acquaintance [Lindon: Elendil, Amandil, Gil-Galad]
Yes, Elendil is most definitely "star-struck"--in more ways than one, LOL!
Dreamflower · 16 January 2007 · Chapter 2: When a Peredhel Falls [Rivendell: Elrohir, Aragorn]
Yes, sometimes the familiarity and affection of family can make it perilously easy to let classified information slip... And Elrohir has no idea yet of how the fate of the Peredhil to love once only will entangle both his little "brother" and his little sister...
Dreamflower · 16 January 2007 · Chapter 1: Elfling Insights [Rivendell: Elrohir, Erestor]
This is so sweet and funny! I love Elrohir's concentration--that of the true and dedicated hobbyist! And I like that you show the twins engaging in totally separate activities, worlds apart, and yet in spite of that they remain aware of one another! And Erestor is hilarious. Yes,I daresay the scribes *could* use the exercise. I know one scribe (myself) who is always in need of it! LOL!
Ellie · 22 March 2006 · Chapter 4: A Wizard's Wish [Minas Tirith: Gandalf, Manwë]
The Gandalf story is cute, too. I love that conversation with his boss and the thunder in the distance and the wind in reaction to the words. I like Gandalf's wish.
Author's reply
LOL, I never thought of it as a 'conversation with his boss', though it certainly is, isn't it? I'm glad for Gandalf's wish, but I wonder if Manwe knew what he was setting himself up for with letting Hobbits into Valinor, even in the outer fringe. ^_^
Ellie · 22 March 2006 · Chapter 1: Elfling Insights [Rivendell: Elrohir, Erestor]
These are very cute! I like the ones involving Elrohir the best. They are precious. Then again, so is he both as an elfling and as an adult.
Author's reply
Thank you! Oh, I love him ^_^ I've actually claimed his character for this fanfic challenge on LJ- so I have to write 50 fics involving him, with passages from the Tolkien books as prompts. Wish me luck!
Larner · 17 March 2006 · Chapter 4: A Wizard's Wish [Minas Tirith: Gandalf, Manwë]
A fantastic moment, drawing on the gentleness and the fullness and humor and the compassion of which Gandalf of all wizards was capable. Two he would take with him, with the hope that a third might come after....
Author's reply
Thank you very much, sweets :-) I really want to explore Gandalf's character more, particularly pre-Middle Earth, but he's a rather tricky one ^_^ And I suppose that, with Bilbo and Frodo going, it made sense to let Sam follow after as well. I think Gandalf had only the Baggins' health in mind at this point, though.
Kitty · 17 March 2006 · Chapter 2: When a Peredhel Falls [Rivendell: Elrohir, Aragorn]
An Elf falling out of a tree? Only a pity Gimli wasn't there to witness it :D before the effort of keeping up with his brother’s words gave his concussion a concussion as well*lol* Nice way to put it! Ah, I loved the banter between the two. Oh yes, close one. Luckily Estel didn't ask more - it's too early for him to know of his true lineage. Sometimes it must've been difficult for his elven family not to say accidentally something like this ...
Author's reply
LOL, indeed! Though I don't think Estel will let Elrohir forget it anytime soon, either. Yes, much too early, and one wonders if he didn't have his suspicions at the end. I've seen it portrayed both ways- with him beginning to guess and him being taken by complete surprise. He's a very smart young man, after all ^_^
Kitty · 17 March 2006 · Chapter 1: Elfling Insights [Rivendell: Elrohir, Erestor]
Lovely ficlet, Etharei! Elrohir was so sweet, sitting there and painting his toy soldiers devotedly, regardless of what happened around him. And his talk with Erestor was fun. So Elrohir knew without looking where his twin was and Erestor decided to let the scribes search nevertheless *grin* Well, I'm sure Elladan meant only well. No matter if man or elf, everyone needs a bit of fresh air! It's not healthy to sit always in dusty studies and libraries! ;-)
Author's reply
Thank you very much, sweets! Well, my mum has always complained that once I'm sitting down with a book, nothing short of nuclear warfare could distract me from it. And yes, I'm sure things were quite exciting in Imladris when the twins were young. Though clearly even the older ones like Erestor still have their own sense of mischief ^_^
Bodkin · 16 March 2006 · Chapter 4: A Wizard's Wish [Minas Tirith: Gandalf, Manwë]
So that's how Frodo and Bilbo were permitted to sail... I'm glad Gandalf struck while the iron was hot and grabbed the chance offered him.
Author's reply
Teeheee, that he did! I mean, who wouldn't want a Hobbit or two to look after? *squishes hobbits* Thanks for reviewing, sweets.
harrowcat · 15 March 2006 · Chapter 4: A Wizard's Wish [Minas Tirith: Gandalf, Manwë]
Now that is a grand take on why Frodo and Sam are allowed to go West! I enjoyed this!!!
Author's reply
Thank you very much! It came out of a bout of silliness, really, but I think it's perfectly possible that they were allowed passaged because Gandalf asked it for them :-)
Grumpy · 3 March 2006 · Chapter 2: When a Peredhel Falls [Rivendell: Elrohir, Aragorn]
Great one of the relationship of the twins and Estel. Elrohir almost letting the "cat out of the bag".
Author's reply
Thank you! I suppose there must have been a few times where Estel's guardians almost forgot themselves. :-)
grumpy · 3 March 2006 · Chapter 1: Elfling Insights [Rivendell: Elrohir, Erestor]
Love this one of the twins. Elrohir painting, "wee Glorfindel" toy soldiers, and Elladan playing with the "scribes".
Author's reply
*giggles* Thank you, the twins are such sweet darlings :-)
Bodkin · 3 March 2006 · Chapter 3: Drabble: A Fateful Acquaintance [Lindon: Elendil, Amandil, Gil-Galad]
Well - Gil-Galad would be a pretty impressive person to meet. Any elf, really - but knowing he was there for the War of Wrath and had been king for an age... Gave Elendil a good role-model, though! And everybody is young once.
Author's reply
I am actually intrigued about how Elendil and Gil-Galad came to be 'dear friends' (I'm sure they were described as such somewhere). May write something about that in the future. Anyway, I reckon GG probably knew Elendil for most of his life, and so they probably met when Elendil was young. I guess most mortals would be intimidated to meet a High King ^_^ Thank you!
Bodkin · 3 March 2006 · Chapter 2: When a Peredhel Falls [Rivendell: Elrohir, Aragorn]
Poor Estel, getting squished by a foster brother! I don't blame him for trying to escape predatory ellyth, though - although showing his caring, nurturing side will only make them pursue him more energetically!
Author's reply
*giggles and hides her Peredhil-seeking goggles* Oh, too true, too true! ^_^ I'm sure some of those ellyth wish that Elrohir had fallen on *them*!
Bodkin · 3 March 2006 · Chapter 1: Elfling Insights [Rivendell: Elrohir, Erestor]
Lovely Elrohir. I just love the way he is painting his little army - and yet just knows where Elladan is and what he is up to. And the collusion with Erestor is delightful. And after all, the scribes could do with being out in the fresh air and getting some exercise!
Author's reply
Oooh, thank you! LOL, yes, it probably was some sly plot put together by our sly counselor ;-) I do love the ickle twinsies! *squishes them*
Larner · 2 March 2006 · Chapter 3: Drabble: A Fateful Acquaintance [Lindon: Elendil, Amandil, Gil-Galad]
Aha--a wonderful meeting between Elendil and the Lord of Gondolin. Wonderful indeed.
Author's reply
Thank you sweets! *hugs* I really appreciate your comments in all of my entries here :-) Drabbles are, in many ways, more difficult than longer pieces of prose, so I'm gratified that you liked this. PS- Did you mean Lindon? Gil-Galad was the last High King of the Noldor, residing in Lindon for most of the Second Age.
Larner · 2 March 2006 · Chapter 2: When a Peredhel Falls [Rivendell: Elrohir, Aragorn]
And for which side was it a close one, I wonder? Interesting conversation between two who will see their adar's dilemma played out in their future, one on the giving side, one on the receiving side.
Author's reply
Hmm, an interesting point! And though I like writing about Aragorn and the twins, it's always painful because of what we know will come between them in the future. At least it's not as bad as the grief between Elrond and Aragorn. Thanks, sweets!
Larner · 2 March 2006 · Chapter 1: Elfling Insights [Rivendell: Elrohir, Erestor]
Yes, I can see the logic of Elrohir's point of view. So, Elladan is happy being a child and getting all worked up about him, while his brother is happily being an Elven craftsman, doing his first painting job of toy Elven soldiers! Lovely!
Author's reply
Hi sweets! Thank you, I'm glad you liked it :-) I love writing about happy twinsies, and I like to think that their respective activities say something about their different personalities as well. PS- I've almost caught up on 'The Acceptable Sacrifice'! :-D
