as always a great chapter, I tried that ice cream, and you are right. The competion was a little closr, but not by much. I can't wait for your next update, I'm enjoying this as a start to the Easter Holiday. Thank you for taking the time to write uch a wonderful story! Happy Easter! Galimeril

Author's reply

Awww, ice cream is always great, as is chocolate. Easter eggs are aplenty (and on sale everywhere!) which cannot be good! But even better is the news that I'll be finishing the next chapter within the next couple of days and posting it here! =) Till then, have MORE chocolate to tide you over!

Love you're story so far. It's good to see Elrohir coming back to a more relaxed state. The way you write about the interaction of the twins is very accurate. Can't wait to find out just why te hell our elfling is trying to get to Aman without anyone of his people knowing just where he is. And not telling his full name just shows how stubborn he can be.... just like his ada ;)

Author's reply

Thank you, Fire. And yes, he is stubborn as Thranduil is; whether or not it's a good thing is anybody's guess!

Jay of Lasgalen · 14 April 2006 · Chapter 3: His Name

I'm enjoying this. I like to see Elrohir's slow emergence from his self-imposed shell of grief, and Elladan's patient attempts to coax him. Poor Legolas - why is he so desperate to reach the sea? Is he suffering from the Sea Longing already?

Author's reply

Thanks, Jay. I hope that I have managed to handle as delicate an emotion as self-loathing and grief in a way that most people would find believable, as well as the love his familiy has for him. The next few chapters will reveal why Legolas is trying to go West, but no, he isn't suffering from the Sea Longing as yet.

mistry89 · 14 April 2006 · Chapter 3: His Name

I am enjoying this very much - I won't waste loads of space spouting on about how I do think that "something" must have happened to Legolas as a elfling - how else can we account for his readiness to join the quest (dwarves notwithstanding!)? Thank you.

Author's reply

No, I agree completely about Legolas needing a reason to have gone on the quest. Why else would he be chosen over a powerful Elflord like Glorfindel?

Ellie · 13 April 2006 · Chapter 3: His Name

I am still enjoying this. Another fine chapter. There is so much anger still n Elrohir. I have my suspicions as to who the elfling is, but I won't try to guess for fear I am wrong as I probably am, but anyway. I am looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's reply

I don't think you're wrong, and the next chapter is almost ready for publication. Elrohir is still terribly angry, but it takes a long time to release all that emotion building up over so long a period.

Elflingimp · 13 April 2006 · Chapter 3: His Name

I really love your story,I am in the States and we have weird cloudy weather one minute and sun the next too,I hope the elfling will be alright althou I know who he is and probably why he seeks the sea, I think he will help Elrohir in the end. P.S. Have a nice Holiday!!

Author's reply

At least spring seems to be here for the moment! The Elfling's identify is more or less obvious, but it's revealed here. I hope I have managed to make it believable that Elrohir and Elrond do not know who he is.

Fire · 2 April 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

I love the story so far. Poor boys... and I mean all off them.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! Yes, I do have a tendancy to torture all my characters, which is rather unfortunate for them, I admit. Yet there might be hope still, so read on! x

Lyn · 31 March 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

Excellent!

Author's reply

Hiya Lyn, nice to see you again, and thank you! =) x

Bodkin · 30 March 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

Well - I have no idea how Legolas got there, but I suspect it could be a very good thing for Elrohir. I loved the description of him settling down next to the elfling to offer him the comfort of his presence. And Elrond's insistence that bathing would make him a more hygienic healer's aide.

Author's reply

I agree with you in that. Trite as it sounds, we do draw some comfort from trying to offer it to others, and I believe Elrohir has sunk so deep into his anger and grief that it would take something quite different to lift him out of it and teach him how to care for others again. As for Elrond's insistence, if only the NHS would subscribe to that theory as well. x

Ellie · 29 March 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

This is a very interesting story! Keep up the good work!

Author's reply

Thank you for your review! I hope you like the forthcoming chapter as much. x

Larner · 29 March 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

Aha! Had wondered if this might be our friend Legolas! And a good wakeup call to Elrohir.

Author's reply

Indeed Elrohir needs to be jolted out of his ever-deepening misery, and who better to do this than a spirited Elfling. x

galimeril · 29 March 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

Nice chapter, you did wonders for my mood. I just failed a geometry final (the second half is tomorrow). This is a great pick me up, almost better than the 5 pounds of chocolate and ice cream, well actually, this was better. I hope you have fun wherever you're going. Best wishes. Eagerly awaiting more, Galimeril

Author's reply

Oh no! =( I hate maths. And I am very flattered that you think this is better than chocolate and ice cream, although if you were eating a Häagen Daz chocolate ice cream fondue I think the competition would have been fairer. ;) I'm back now, so the next chapter will be up within the next few days. x

eliza61 · 29 March 2006 · Chapter 2: Healing

Hooray, an update. first I must apologize for not reviewing sooner, (I actually thought I did. LOL, it must be that pesky real life again). Lovely, lovely story here. The terrible twins are my favorite characters. I can't decide who I feel worse for Elladan or Elrohir, both seem to be in a lot of pain. Tell Elladan to keep hanging in there, his brother will be back. Elflings are hard to resist. Update soon, Eliza

Author's reply

I love the twins too! For some reason they've been taken and made into really workable characters from what little we're told in actual canon. I agree that Elflings are hard to resist, especially one as cuddly as this fine specimen here! Hopefully he won't be too much of a Mary-Sue, but the jury is out on that one. The story is focused more on Elrohir, but I do see your point about Elladan being in a lot of pain. Thanks for pointing that out, and I'll try to see whether that can be taken. x

Galimeril · 24 March 2006 · Chapter 1: A Precious Find

You really capture the emotion of the moment, is the little elfling Legolas? Why is he out on his own? I can't wait fot the next update!

Author's reply

Thank you, Galimeril. You will have to wait for the story to unfold to find out! Well, I think some of it is pretty obvious, but hopefully your questions will be answered soon. x

Jaylen · 23 March 2006 · Chapter 1: A Precious Find

Great start. Looking forward to the other chapters.

Author's reply

Thanks Jaylen. I hope you enjoy them as much as this one. x

Larner · 22 March 2006 · Chapter 1: A Precious Find

A fascinating beginning here. And the fury of the suppressed emotions is very believable.

Author's reply

Hi Larner, thanks for your review. I was wary of making it too over-the-top with Elrohir, but am glad that you find it believable. Elrohir has a lot to deal with, and does it mean anything that I feel realy bad for putting him into this situation? x

Blaise · 22 March 2006 · Chapter 1: A Precious Find

I'm the first...Yeah!! I can't wait to get more insight into this first meeting of Legolas and Elrohir along with further info into that oft-mentioned time of Legolas stay in Imladris. I'm looking forward to discovering the foundations of Roh and Las...of how they save each other and form the bond that will only grow stronger. Can't wait!

Author's reply

Hi! I'm glad you're enjoying it, and I have to say it's been a plotbunny that's be nestled at the back of my head for ages now. it'll be really good fun to develop, and I can't wait to see where it will go from here too. Now I only hope it'll live up to all the 'hype'! x
