Oh, it really is terrible. I had one of my episodes and threw up my meds and I had to stay in bed all day! I felt so restless!

Celeste Lucretia Black · 16 May 2021 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

That's wonderful

Any chance you might return to writing fanfiction, and write some more chapters for this delightful story! I'd love it if you did!

shirebound · 8 February 2018 · Chapter 3: An Afternoon Visit

I needed a smile tonight, and found your utterly sweet story to re-read. Thank you again for giving the hobbits puppies!

shirebound · 3 August 2014 · Chapter 3: An Afternoon Visit

I'm re-reading some of your sweet stories this evening, and I wanted to thank you again for writing such lovely fluffiness. I never tire of basking in their warmth.

COULD a story be more adorable, I ask? Oh my goodness, this was just the warmest, sweetest thing ever!!! More? I mean, the puppies do need to keep the hobbits comfortable on that long journey to Minas Tirith. :)

Author's reply

Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed! I never planned on writing anything beyond the first chapter, but more and more plotbunnies appeared. And now you've just given me another! :) Unfortunately I don't have much time for writing these days, but I'll definitely keep your idea in mind. Thanks!

Grey Wonderer · 22 January 2008 · Chapter 3: An Afternoon Visit

I'm reading this again to put a smile on my face. I love seeing Pippin in this light and all of the hobbits helping where they can including Frodo. Besides, there are puppies!

Author's reply

Aww, thank you, GW! I really appreciate it. I wanted to show what all the hobbits were doing to help even though of course I focused on Pippin :) I'm so glad you enjoyed!

Pearl Took · 22 January 2008 · Chapter 3: An Afternoon Visit

The delightful combination of Hobbits and puppies, ST! I'm sure it would be very helpful for the hobbits to go 'round and visit the wounded. They are such an open race and good at showing care and concern. *happy sigh*

Author's reply

Thanks, Pearl! I'm so glad you enjoyed. Yes, the hobbits certainly would make great care-givers, with their loving natures. :)

Andrea · 22 January 2008 · Chapter 3: An Afternoon Visit

What a sweet story! I believe in the "healing abilities" of those little puppies! Happy belated birthday :)

Author's reply

Thanks so much, Andrea! I haven't had much time to write this year and I've really missed hobbits and posting at this site. I'm so glad you enjoyed :)

I needed a "pick me up" and came back to frolic with the hobbits and their puppies! *happy* Any plans for a chapter 3, where the pups help cheer up the wounded Men? :D

Author's reply

Thanks, dear! I'm so glad this story can still serve as a "pick me up." :D As for chapter 3, I'd love to have something ready for a certain upcoming birthday if time and inspiration allow me! :D

Linda Hoyland · 18 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Very sweet.Trust the Hobbits to name the puppies after food !

Author's reply

Thanks very much! Hobbits think with their stomachs so I tried to think of golden-colored foods that they could have named their puppies after :)

Tigger · 14 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Oh...These two little stories are so delightfully comforting, adorable and just so fluffy!! Faramir sent a very, very wise gift, but I doubt even he realized just *how* much good those golden bundles of mischief and love would do. And leave it to hobbits to name their pups after food....LOL!! This really was a delightful and lovely surprise to find last night. More please!! More!! :o)

Author's reply

Thank you SO much! I'm very happy that you thought the stories were comforting, that is exactly what I'd hoped for! You're right, I don't think Faramir realized just how important those puppies would turn out to be. He picked four very special ones! I have some ideas for more "puppy stories" and I hope to write them soon. Thank you! :)

Armariel · 14 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Ohhh cuteness overload!;) Love the names. *petpetpetpetpetpetpetpet*

Author's reply

*puppies wag tails eagerly* Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this, and liked the names :)

harrowcat · 14 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Ooh, puppies as healers - oh yes! Puppies as personal trainers to get your fitness back - oh yes!And what wonderful names for them! Lovely to see this through Pippin's eyes.

Author's reply

Thanks, harrowcat! That was something I wanted to see, the puppies encouraging the hobbits to push themselves to full recovery, and also being there to comfort them when there were difficult days. I'm so glad you liked the names, believe it or not they took a while for me to think of! I tend to see things through Pippin's eyes, so I'm delighted you liked that as well :)

Andrea · 14 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

“Merry tells me that Biscuit even keeps his arm warm at night.” Very nice update :) After reading chapter 1 again, I realised that those cute little puppies instinctively made themselves comfortable where their warmth and comfort was needed the most. For Merry this would be: in the crook of his arm! Just wonderful!

Author's reply

Thank you, Andrea! I'm so delighted that you noticed that about the puppies! I wanted to show how the puppies would heal the hobbits right from the start, and that somehow Merry's would know just where he was hurting most, and soothe him. I'm so happy you enjoyed! :D

Larner · 14 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Yes, our four-legged friends do help us heal! Lovely!

Author's reply

Thank you, Larner! I'm so glad you enjoyed the puppies :)

Elemmírë · 14 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Their conversation was interrupted by insistent barking, followed by a peal of laughter. They peered ahead, watching the puppies frolicking in the grass, tails wagging as they competed for the hobbits’ attention. It was the sight of four happy hobbits, however, that made Gandalf and Aragorn laugh. Picture-perfect as a postcard, Slightly Tookish! You've also got me craving to run out and find a puppy of my own to cuddle :D

Author's reply

I thought the hobbits needed puppies to cuddle and comfort them as they healed. I'm so glad you enjoyed. Thank you! :)

Pearl Took · 13 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Springtime in Ithilien

Wonderful!! Reading this is healing. Sweet, gentle, kindly and uplifting! Excellently well done, ST :-)

Author's reply

Thanks you for your lovely words, Pearl! I'm so glad you thought so :)
