It was such fun to revisit this story this evening while fireworks boom all around us outside, scaring the daylights out of the poor cats. I think my chuckling reassured them, actually, so your story has performed a valuable service in addition to being comforting and amusing to read.
(((hugs))) my friend. Well done. Introducing hobbits (especially tipsy hobbits) to new ideas and customs is such fun!

Count on a Shirebound story to put a smile on my face. Love the bowling in Minas Tirith, Beregond, your hobbits and drunk! Sam and PIppin. the "Sick" circle and other mispronunciation was so funny.
Miss your hobbits so very much! :hugs: :)

This has been here since May...and I missed it. I agree with the other reviewer who said they enjoy reading the other reviews as much as the stories! Just a lot of fun. Hmmm... dwarves bowling in Moria? Yes!
Author's reply
Glad you enjoyed this! Yes, I can definitely imagine the Dwarves bowling in Moria. Those lovely long halls, and all the stones you can roll! :D

A bowling alley in Minas Tirith, and Hobbits not realizing Men tend to be far less controlled at rolling balls than Hobbits. Hilarious! Love it, Shirebound!
Author's reply
Thank you, Larner! Yes, a bit of harmless confusion and fun. :D

Great story of the hobbits discover how men play bowling, with trick shots too. Poor Sam he has had a bit to much to drink.
Author's reply
Yes, I'm very familiar with those trick shots -- especially 'gutter balls'!
Tipsy hobbits are so adorable. :D

Loved this, Shirebound! How priceless that the hobbits are convinced the Men are using 'trick shots'!
Oh dear, it seems that Pip and Sam are a little the worse for wear - they do like their ale, don't they? And as for the 'Seeing Scones'........I know hobbits bring everything back to food but really! Not to mention the Sick Circle - what an appropriate location for the Houses of Healing! :-))
Author's reply
...the Sick Circle - what an appropriate location for the Houses of Healing...
I actually didn't plan that on purpose! You guys are just too clever.
This was such fun to write! Tipsy, confused hobbits, their respect for the race of Men intact.

THis was just hilarious !I'd love to see the Hobbbits play the Men, but Pippin and Sam need to stay away from the ale.
Author's reply
*giggles* I remember that, if FOTR before the hobbits even left Bag End on the Quest, Sam had to "visit" the beer barrel in the cellar one last time... and Pippin kept talking about reaching a pub by nightfall! They do love their ale.
:D
Author Reply: I meant to say, "IN FOTR before the hobbits even left Bag End..." *sigh* I should never type before breakfast. :D

Delightful :) Yes, they give themselves a 7 - 10 split just for the fun of it :) :)
Well done, as always, dear shirebound :) :)
Author's reply
Thank you, Pearl! Ah, those wacky Men... so inventive when it comes to those 'trick shots' of theirs!

“These Men are very clever; obviously they must get extra points for trick shots.” He pointed to a friend of Beregond, who seemed upset. “I heard him call that a ‘7-10 split’. That set-up had to be deliberate; it’s very difficult to hit pins so far apart with one ball. And did you see what Beregond did just now? He allowed his first ball to roll down that ‘gutter’, thus handicapping himself with only one ball left to hit all ten pins.”
ROTFL!! Oh, my gosh--Merry is too funny. I wish I *did* get extra points for a 7-10 split! Then again, I wish I got all the subsequent three extra "Field Goal" points, too, lol.
Very cute!

Thanks, Pippinfan! Yes, if only the 'rules' of bowling were hobbity ones.

LOL! Sleeting scones! Sick circle! (Isn't that where you'd find the Houses of Healing?)
Thanks for the laugh!
Author's reply
Yay, I'm glad someone got a giggle out of the insidious Sleeting Stones!

*laughing* Oh, Shirebound, that is great! Trick shots, indeed! LOL! They have no idea how easy it is to mess up! And I love tipsy Hobbits! Heehee! Yep, Frodo and Merry had better get Pippin and Sam to bed. This was such a lovely way to start my day!
God bless,
Galadriel

Aren't tipsy hobbits fun? So endearing and adorable.
Yes, I've had my share of gutter balls myself. Next time, I'll be proud of my 'trick shot'!

Oh LOL!! How interesting. The HObbits discovering bowling. It dosen't make too much sense to me either, though. That was funny. I loved it. Namarie!

lol This was delightful. I've often wondered what hobbits would make of Men's less accurate aim. They'll be very disappointed (and confused) to find out that the trick shots were really bad shots. Still, the 'trick shots' could still work in the Shire. :D
Author's reply
Perhaps the hobbits will never find out the truth, and always believe the Men were very skilled and clever! :D

Bowling! "The Prickly Pins"! Trick shots!
I loveitloveitloveit!
Did the dwarves introduce Ninepins to the Shire? (I'm thinking of "Rip Van Winkle.")
"Pin ball"! Eee hee hee! If Gandalf played, he'd be the Pin Ball Wizard! ROFLOL!
This is adorable, Shirebound. Thanks so much for sharing it!
Blessings,
Mum
Author's reply
Thanks, Mum! Now you have me imagining Ninepins being boisterously played in those long, smooth halls of Moria...
Pin Ball Wizard!!! You clever thing.

The sick circle, indeed! :D
Ah... clever hobbits! I wonder if there'll be a sequel where Merry and Frodo actually get to try the trick shots :)
Author's reply
You never can tell about sequel-bunnies! They arrive exactly when they mean to.
Thanks, Lily! This was fun.
