Sorry! :( I have been thinking about all of you as I try to drum up another few updates, but both chapters-in-progress involve complicated battles so I've been brushing up my battlefield tactics with lots of internet research! They're coming, I promise. :)

Conquistadora, I am so glad that you have begun to upload again. I read all three parts of "We Were Young Once" for the first time last year, and I am planning on reading them again this year. Thanks for your amazing contributions to the world of Tolkien fan fiction! I know that this is a rough time for everyone with Christopher Tolkien's death, but stories like the ones that you write have helped me through that. May we all be united because of this wonderous and magical world that J.R.R. Tolien created. With blessings from America, Lanya

Thank you! I have many more plans, but sadly I write extremely slowly. Thoughtful reviews like yours are highly motivating!

I have just recently become a Thranduil fan. I am currently reading We Were Young Once II. During the past Christmas I read your paper on Thranduil and agree with every letter you typed. I also did my own research after reading your thesis to check the facts your presented. Thank you for blowing away all of the fandom fanon myths out there. As for "We Were Young Once" series your writing skills proclaim you a master story teller. When LOTR movies came out in the early 2000s I knew nothing of Tolkien's works. After going crazy over the movies I began my love affair with Tolkien's Books. Now in some ways I wish I had never seen the movies. They do no justice to JRRT's works. Well, my dear Conquistadora this post is for you. Thank you for writing a serious tale about our favorite Greenwood Boy... ;) Seriously, if you ever get writers block or need a smile just know YOUR fans are out here to cheer you on... Hugs, Cal

Thank you!!! I just write the kind of thing I would want to read, and its very exciting when others enjoy it too. Thanks so much for all your kind encouragement. I promise there is another chapter in the works, but it's going to be a long one and I want it to be good. ;)

mystarlight · 9 December 2019 · Chapter 21: Hopeless Courage III

I reread this chapter and although I knew what to expect I was mesmerised once again. Fast pace and action packed made me forget about the whole world. Love Thranduil's wrath and he really acts as the greatest king. The idea of his wife gathering their people in Valinor is wonderful. You are a brilliant story-teller!!!

mystarlight · 3 December 2019 · Chapter 28: Hands of a King

Every time I think this story can't be better you prove me I am wrong!!! You made me feel like nothing else mattered but reading this story! I am with Thranduil in healing Halls and watch him help the ill. What happens to the boy and a father? Will any dragons appear? Excellent characters, loads of action and a deep well developed world I do not want to leave. Read this chapter during my break as waiting for going home seemed like ages to me:D.

It kept me so involved I want to immerse myself in this world and never leave.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 20: Hopeless Courage II

This story keeps me turning pages. Loved how suspenseful and full of action this story is. I am on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait for what happens next.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 19: Hopeless Courage

This world is rich, has depth, and is full of angst and joy, with some awesome battles thrown in. I find myself fully immersed each time I open a story.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 18: The Darkest Night III

I definitely couldn't get enough of this story. Wonderful characters development.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 16: The Darkest Night

This chapter made me cry. Poor Thranduil. I was so sure she will sail to Valinor.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 15: The Challenge

I am happy that she survived but Noruvion is right they really need the king not the martyr. I didn't like Mithrandir at their first meeting: he was so arrogant.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 14: The Storm Breaks

This story offers a cinematic adventure. Characters are really memorable and terrific.

mystarlight · 29 November 2019 · Chapter 13: Whispers in the Dark VII

A truly amazing read.

mystarlight · 26 November 2019 · Chapter 12: Whispers in the Dark VI

This chapter left me breathless again. He managed to light the fire with his will only!!!

mystarlight · 26 November 2019 · Chapter 11: Whispers in the Dark V

Thranduil is really busy. Terrific story.

mystarlight · 26 November 2019 · Chapter 10: Whispers in the Dark IV

It is a must-read for people who love Tolkien's world.

mystarlight · 25 November 2019 · Chapter 9: Whispers in the Dark III

I am mesmerised by the plot. Finally Thranduil can suspect Sauron's return. Love council meetings. His nightmares about Mordor are well written. Is he imagining Sauron's laugh or Sauron somehow left a mark which allows him to do that?
