· Chapter 7: Dreams Abound
Truly horrible dreams that they're all experiencing - truly horrible. *shivers* Wonder if that White Wizard has anything to do with Elladan's dreams?
Author's reply
Dreams played such a large part in Tolkien's many tales... It seemed logical and plausible, during this terrible time, that many involved would be assailed so... however, is it the White Wizard???

Don't! Do not go there! White Wizard didn't expect you -- let him be!
Author's reply
Eeeeeeeeeeekkkkk - nasty things - wizards
You'd think the twins would protect him????

· Chapter 6: Wizards and Such
Ooooh, poor Faramir! Helps got to get there soon, doesn't it?
And I, too, have a bad feeling about the White Wizard.
Author's reply
The White Wizard has not shown his colours to any yet - but this might be the turning point???
And Faramir - who can say?

· Chapter 5: Brothers United
Excellent advice from the elven brothers - grief can, in fact, kill. I've lost track of the number of older folks I've cared for who've died only to have their spouse pass away a short time later.
And oh, I hope they don't go to Angrenost. Saruman's not likely to be help, he's more likely to try and mess them up.
Author's reply
I found it also interesting that Elrohir was able to share and Elladan was not. Grief's manifestations are so different, person to person. I'm hoping some of this will help Ell with his own grief.
And Aragorn, though he has seen death, has not experienced it in the familial sense. Seems to me, with his running all over the Angle, etc., that he and Gilraen did not see each other much. I wonder if she 'blocked' him to protect his heart?
Life is interesting.
Thanks for reading and replying!

· Chapter 5: Brothers United
Oh, dear--visit Saruman, when he is probably the one behind the assassinations? Don't do it, Aragorn, unless you are VERY, very wary.
Author's reply
I found it fascinating in ROTK that Saruman falls under Sauron's spell almost immediately after he uses the Palantir. In 2989, his treachery was still unknown, but I believe it was there, hiding in the caves and tunnels of Angrenost.
Thanks so much for reading and responding. It does NOT look good for our three.

Why indeed are there birds about? I hope they are birds, at least.
Author's reply
I have to giggle, Larner. This was a slight mistake, not where I had intended to go with it, but then the muse laughed (bwwaaahhhaaahhhaaaa) and made them a little dark.... what kind of birds indeed?

So, he goes home first before hading south into Gondor to Faramir's aid.
And he's met by Imladris's answer to Fred and George.

· Chapter 2: Friends of Gondor
Indeed a matter for grief; but Theoden must find the traitor, of course.
Author's reply
He knows that, even though Amandil has been found out, someone in the Mark sabotaged that wagon way back in one of the first chapters of My Sword Sings. To leave Edoras unprotected, so to speak, for too long a time, is too dangerous.
And, sadly enough, there is nothing he can do for Faramir at this time.

Oh. *sniffle* Poor Faramir. Poor Indis. They all need help so badly.
Hope it arrives soon...
Author's reply
Once again, Indis will have to create a solution herself. And it will lead into danger. But she will do anything to save the Steward. Anything.

· Chapter 4: Sorrow Untold
Oh dear, things look very bad for the little Steward of Gondor. Indis and Theodred are in a sorry state as well, though not in any peril, just worn out and despairing. They need some help.
You do realize that if you kill off Faramir in this AU, I will scream and yell at my monitor screen and generally behave in an indecorous fashion, don't you?!
Author's reply
*covers head*
I did not 'mean' to kill off the other one in the last tale - the muse hit me over the head, I struggled furiously, but could not win against her. NOW - Surgical Steel says he might have been saved. NOW!!!
As for this little lad - I have no plans for his demise... yet... *ducks*
As of now, and the story is far advanced from the chapters posted here - the boy still lives. Does that give you hope?

· Chapter 3: An Elvish Reunion of Sorts
Seems a good place for Aragorn to head first - to consult with the 'senior physician' before going down to look after poor Faramir. Looking forward to seeing more!
Author's reply
*giggles* - I was going to have him go straight south - but a little voice said, Nay.... Besides - he might pick up a friend or two for help!

Wow, Gondor really needs help - poor little Faramir, and Indis doesn't seem to be doing so well either!

I second that - Gondor really needs help.

Gondor could certainly use a return visit by Captain Thorongil. Trust Gandalf to get the word out!

· Chapter 2: Friends of Gondor
Yikes, poor little Faramir is in bad shape, and Indis doesn't seem much better. Looks like they could use some help!
Theodred is a brave little chap. The Rohirrim are well-written here - and the people of Mundberg owe them a huge debt.
More soon, I hope!
Author's reply
I have absolutely fallen in love with the Rohirrim... due to Eomund's awesome behavior in 'Sings' - now Theodred is quickly growing up.
I am sorry that our poor Faramir is still in the grip of the Valar only know what - but I'm hopeful...
Thank you for your compliments!
Oh, thank goodness - you'd suggested in the previous story that 'Thorongil' might have been with Denethor's party. Thank goodness he's still around.
Author's reply
I can't wait till Indis sees 'Thorongil' - should be fun! I remember you wondered about him dying with Denethor's party - but he was not there - he left Gondor in 2980 and this occurs in 2989.
No fair--a cliffhanger! Except, having read the last story I do know already. Am very glad to see that Aragorn is ready this time to reprise Thorongil and aid as the boy grows, or so I must suppose.
Love that NO one wishes to sit at the table where the mysterious Strider sits the odd times he's able to visit Bree.
Author's reply
I can't wait to see what part Thorongil has in this too. You know Indis must have known him - being as much a part of the politics of Gondor as she had been while Denethor was alive.
And I'm soooo glad you noticed about the table... I got the biggest kick out of that when the muse presented the idea. Being from a rural area, I'm sure superstitions ran rampant... and Rangers probably played a big part in them!
Thanks ever so much for responding, Larner!
How sad. I confess I hardly could read through "My sword sings", it was... you know, like bad news you don't want to know. And now I hope once Aragorn is in the story, it all should end well, with crown, wedding and healing, but what dreadfull path will lead to that end?
Author's reply
Oh! Phyloxena....
As I wrote in the little header for 'Sings' - I too was taken aback by the path the muse took me. I did not like it one bit, but knew she was going somewhere??? The title sounded so promising....
I'm hoping 'Weeps' is going to lead to happiness for all concerned... another little boy is going to become a man; I can feel it already.
Thanks for responding!
