Larner · 10 February 2007 · Chapter 5: Pinned

Neither Frodo nor Sam, nor Aragorn is alone. Iluvatar sent Sam to represent himself to Frodo, and knew Aragorn was already awake and aware, and ready for whatever might befall him.

Author's reply

Indeed. Very nicely said. God may not have revealed Himself to the hobbits but He was very much there. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Elemmírë · 5 February 2007 · Chapter 6: At the Black Gate

Another terrific look at Elrond's thoughts as Frodo is on his journey. I like how you added the iaun in as well. :D ~Elemmírë~

Author's reply

Hannon le, my dear! This is the story I'm least sure of in whether it's realistic so I'm glad that I have all these kind reviews to show that I'm wrong. :) Namarie, God bles, Antane

harrowcat · 5 February 2007 · Chapter 6: At the Black Gate

Aw *happy sigh* I am glad that you have updated this Antane. Elrond may not think that he can guard Frodo's Fea, (chapter 1,) but he is obviously being allowed to, albeit from a distance.

Author's reply

Hannon le, dear harrowcat. Sorry it's taking so long to update. I'm doing bits and pieces as I came across them as I'm re-reading the tale for Via so it'll be another long while but it'll be coming. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Althea · 4 February 2007 · Chapter 6: At the Black Gate

This is beautiful. I love this line especially, " I wish I could help you, my brother, but since I cannot, may you feel the Arms you are wrapped in, stronger than mine could ever be."

Author's reply

Hannon le! I so appreciate your kind words! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 4 February 2007 · Chapter 6: At the Black Gate

Oh, Antane, you don't know how much I love these! This one especially! I want to cry. So interesting that Elrond calls Frodo brother. This is encouraging, though I don't know why. Hantanyel, meldanya. God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Hantanyel right back, ammelda! :) So glad you are enjoying! Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane

eiluj · 4 February 2007 · Chapter 6: At the Black Gate

A lovely series. We can never have too much Elrond -- JRRT shows us so few glimpses of him.

Author's reply

Hannon le! I appreciate your support! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 14 November 2006 · Chapter 4: Leavetaking

Wow! Oh, wow! These are amazing! I love it! I can't pick favourite parts because it's all so wonderful! Please do continue this! God bless, Galadriel

Larner · 7 November 2006 · Chapter 4: Leavetaking

Yes, the one to go all the way would be obvious, I think. And he sees the determination for all to do as they can, which is all any can ask of another. The words of Elrond here are among the wisest spoken in the entire book, the advice not to seek to stand in the dark before one has seen the darkness fall. And the others will not turn away until Frodo lets go their hands to walk alone as he must--save, of course, for Sam's continued presence.

Author's reply

I love the way you said about Frodo holding onto all those hands and then having to let go. So must we all at some time or another. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

harrowcat · 7 November 2006 · Chapter 4: Leavetaking

I hadn't thought about Elrond as yet another one who watches over Frodo from afar but this chapter makes it obvious that he is also part of the Fellowship in his own way.

Armariel · 7 November 2006 · Chapter 4: Leavetaking

Clean and simple and spare, nicely done. The quotes from the book mesh well with your own writing. Sweet! ~~~{~@

Elemmírë · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 3: Affirmation

I' glad to see you continuing this one Antane! Sometimes the smallest are the greatest, in service, love and humility. I am honored, Ada, that you have shown me these. They are wonders to behold. That was such a lovely and heartfelt 'conversation' between Elrond and Iluvatar. Elrond was truly meant to encounter these particular hobbits and his life will be all the more enriched because of them. ~Elemmírë~ p.s. Thank you so very much for pointing me back in the direction of 'A Hobbiton Halloween' I LOVE the addition of Gandalf to the tale. Somehow I find that Gandalf and sweets always go together very well ... and combined with wee Sam and young Frodo ... *sighs in content*. LOL! Anyway, I really enjoyed the additions you made. :D Namarie

Author's reply

Hannon le, my dear! Glad you enjoyed both tales! The Gandalf part came to me on the way home from work and I just had to put it in - better than waiting until next Halloween. :) It was a lot of fun to do. Now if I can just figure out how to continue Love Endures... Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Althea · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 3: Affirmation

"Sometimes the smallest are the greatest, in service, love and humility. I am honored, Ada, that you have shown me these. They are wonders to behold." So true.

Author's reply

Hannon le for reviewing! They are indeed. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Althea · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 2: The Call Answered

" It is even less possible to separate You from him than his faithful brother." This is beautiful.

Author's reply

Hannon le! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

harrowcat · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 3: Affirmation

These chapters are great Antane. And I love the final prayer.

Author's reply

Hannon le, my dear! I love that prayer also. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 3: Affirmation

Indeed the one prayer that will in the end mean the most to both Frodo and Sam, and that will bring them the most heart and peace along the way. I am glad he utters it here.

Author's reply

We all need prayers, don't we? :) Hannon le for reviewing. It'll be continuing soon. Namarie, God bless, Antane

Larner · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 2: The Call Answered

Beautiful weaving of the original text into this short view of our two protagonists.

Larner · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 1: Brothers

I read this first earlier in the day when I was rushed. I read it now more at leisure. This is your most powerful writing to date, and indicates how much you are maturing both as an individual and as a writer. It is emotionally satisfying without being maudlin, and a wonderful point of view for these thoughts. I very much love the dialogue between Elrond and Eru.

Author's reply

Hannon le, my dear Larner! This is high praise indeed and very much appreciated! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane

Anonymous · 3 November 2006 · Chapter 3: Affirmation

"The journey will be very dark." "And filled with light." You've said so much in these few words. This is a truly beautiful story.

Author's reply

Hannon le! Glad you enjoyed! More to come... :) Namarie, God bless, Antane

Althea · 3 November 2006 · Chapter 1: Brothers

This is beautiful. I love the spiritual aspect of this tale. "Though he knows not what he saw, I have already sent him a dream of what his reward for all his labors will be." This line particularly appealed to me. It explains so well the dream Frodo experienced at Tom Bombadil's. I have never much cared for that part of the book, but your story has made me rethink Frodo's dream. I am so glad that Elrond sees not only Frodo's light, but Sam's as well.

Elanor Silmariën · 3 November 2006 · Chapter 3: Affirmation

Frodo's determination is wonderful! To think that a small hobbit could teach a mighty Elf-lord like this is great! God bless, Ellie

Author's reply

I've learned so much from him myself! Hannon le, my dear! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Elanor Silmariën · 3 November 2006 · Chapter 2: The Call Answered

Love the conversations between Iluvitar and Elrond here, so perfect! God bless, Ellie

Author's reply

Hannon le, my dear! Thanks for the Bible verses - I think that one about offering or being a perfect sacrifice fits our dear. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Elanor Silmariën · 3 November 2006 · Chapter 1: Brothers

Ah, yes, I remember this story. Lovely! God bless, Ellie
