You know, Dreamflower, since "Good King Elessar" is a 6-chapter story, you ought to post it as a separate story. Then everyone who wants to read it could find it easily. It is a nice story--too nice to be hidden within any of your story anthologies! =)
Larner · 23 January 2018 · Chapter 38: The Search for the Perfect Gift
Am so far behind in making comments and reading here! Again, thank you so much for this story--it filled the bill so well! In the end Frodo found that out of the mouths of babes....
Andrea · 18 January 2018 · Chapter 38: The Search for the Perfect Gift
A very wise person showed me that the things you like the most are the best things you can give to people you love, because if you love it, they will, too. How wonderful! I like this very much. Wisdom does not always require a long life to gain it. But like Frodo I doubt that Folco is aware of that, too ;-)
Antane · 3 January 2018 · Chapter 38: The Search for the Perfect Gift
What a sweet story! I love it. :) Happy New Year! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
KathyG · 3 January 2018 · Chapter 17: Good King Elessar: Part 1, Hither Page and Stand by Me
You should post this one as a separate story! It would be perfect for that.
KathyG · 3 January 2018 · Chapter 38: The Search for the Perfect Gift
I love how Folco helped Frodo decide what would be a perfect gift to give to Bilbo. Plus Bilbo also received all those other gifts from his other relatives and friends! =) Are you going to post this on Fanfiction.net, too?
Antane · 30 December 2016 · Chapter 37: A New Year's Game of the Shire
That's a fun game - thanks for sharing! Happy Yule! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Thank you, dear! Happy Yule to you and a blessed New Year.
Larner · 28 December 2016 · Chapter 37: A New Year's Game of the Shire
Oh, how delightful a game, and so appropriate for a Shire Yule!
Author's reply
When I started writing it, it was just going to be my usual Shire carol, but as I continued, I realized how fun a game it would make for the children to play, so I added an extra line to the chorus, and figured out the directions.
Andrea · 27 December 2016 · Chapter 37: A New Year's Game of the Shire
Don't look for it behind; A new one we must find! That is indeed a very nice game and a lot of fun! I hope you have had a merry Christmas and I wish you a happy New Year!
Author's reply
Thanks! It seemed like it might be a good game for little hobbits! I had a great Christmas, and am looking forward to the New Year.
Antane · 24 January 2016 · Chapter 36: How Yule Came to Gondor
The hobbity version is a much better way to celebrate - dear me, how depressing it must have been before just focusing on much you've screwed up. New Year's Eve is my favorite holiday because there is the excitement of a new year coming and all you can do it. I don't do anything to celebrate except in my heart and mind being excited and that is best. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Andrea · 24 January 2016 · Chapter 36: How Yule Came to Gondor
A very nice story. I'm quite sure the people of Gondor will love this new tradition. I also like the newest carol. But my favourite still is the lighting of the Yule Log. The day is short; the night is long. Against the dark we sing this song-- Let our hearts be filled with light And may the world again grow bright...
UTfrog · 19 January 2016 · Chapter 36: How Yule Came to Gondor
I really enjoyed this story. The litany was beautiful. Thank you.
nancylea57@yahoo.com · 18 January 2016 · Chapter 35: An Unexpected Yule Bounty
Loved the story the first time I read it. Loved the fact that this read through reminds me of one more cold evening fill-up, now where did I leave the grocery list.
Lindelea · 22 December 2015 · Chapter 35: An Unexpected Yule Bounty
Oh, lovely! I want to try this. Maybe this will be a new Christmas tradition...
Andrea · 6 December 2015 · Chapter 35: An Unexpected Yule Bounty
"Sam said you were splendid, sir, and well, I-I reckon he's right" A wonderful story. I liked it very much, especially young Till!
Eruherdiriel · 4 December 2015 · Chapter 35: An Unexpected Yule Bounty
Awwww. Til is very cute. I enjoyed this a lot. Thanks for sharing! ~Eruherdiriel
Antane · 3 December 2015 · Chapter 35: An Unexpected Yule Bounty
I loved this story! Horray for simpler times and the joy of giving. Love Frodo and Bilbo's tradition of dusting the mantle and the interactions between Till and Frodo :) Nsmarie, God bless, Antane :)
Lindelea · 5 January 2015 · Chapter 34: Eucatastrophe: Yuletide in Annúminas
Such a lovely celebration! I adored Frodo's rescue of Pippin, lol! (Is that what they call "tit for tat"?) As always, so many little details bring the story to life, like the fact that a feast was managed, that was truly a feast, yet did not deplete the food store in view of the weather emergency. Beregond! How I love to catch a glimpse of him. And Bergil, of course. And somehow I find this AU quite comforting.
Author's reply
Wow, I can't believe I never answered these comments! Yes, it certainly is "tit for tat"; Frodo has a habit of rescuing Pippin that goes back to Pip's faunthood, LOL! Well, Beregond is Faramir's Captain, and Bergil is a Guardsman of the Citadel, so it made sense for them to have accompanied their lieges. I also find it comforting--it's quite a happy AU
Larner · 1 January 2015 · Chapter 34: Eucatastrophe: Yuletide in Annúminas
So delighted to have this as my Yule gift, and joy to you in the coming year! Love the poem, too. May this new year be filled with accomplishment for all of us! (And loved having Frodo included!)
Author's reply
Thank you very much, dear! I can't believe I never answered these comments last year. I had a great year--and now a new one coming again! Frodo always makes it better! :)
Antane · 1 January 2015 · Chapter 34: Eucatastrophe: Yuletide in Annúminas
Great fun for them all! Gimli will be sorry that he missed it. That would have been been the whole surviving Fellowship. I am glad Faramir was there too. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Thank you so much for this lovely comment; I am sorry it took so long to reply.

KathyG · 1 January 2015 · Chapter 33: Good-bye, Old Year, Good-bye!
LOL! Yeah, that's right. Yule and New Year are one and the same for hobbits; there's no discrepancy between the 2 holidays as there is for us.
Author's reply
Yes, exactly! Of course, technically all the Yule stuff should happen on Dec. 21 of "our" calendar but what would be First Yule on the Shire calendar, but I figure there's been some stellar drift over the many millennia. At any rate, I choose to equate it with "our" New Year for simplicity's sake. But that's why the LOTR GenFic Comm has its Yule exchange at New Years rather than on Christmas.
