harrowcat · 11 January 2007 · Chapter 8: Flame and Shadow – Aragorn
“What is the future without the past?” Aragorn replied. “Our land needs both. Together we shall build Gondor anew.” Perfect - thanks Linda and Raksha.
Author's reply
Thank you so much.I'm delighted you enjoyed this.
shirebound · 10 January 2007 · Chapter 8: Flame and Shadow – Aragorn
“What is the future without the past?” Aragorn replied. “Our land needs both. Together we shall build Gondor anew.” As he spoke, the bells proclaimed the sun reborn. That's a beautiful and inspiring scene.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm so pleased that a writer of your calibre should find it beautiful !
Raksha The Demon · 10 January 2007 · Chapter 8: Flame and Shadow – Aragorn
I really didn't have much to polish here - it's a very beautiful, stirring scene, captured in only 100 words. Nice use of shadow and flame.

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm so pleased you enjoyed this.It is a scene I would love to witness.
Larner · 9 January 2007 · Chapter 7: A Man of Worth - Éowyn
Coming to know Faramir must have been almost difficult and yet easier after having become obsessed with Aragorn first. But she's found her love.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I admit I find Eowyn rather difficult to write.
Raksha The Demon · 7 January 2007 · Chapter 7: A Man of Worth - Éowyn
Perceptive look at Eowyn, who is certainly not an easy lady to capture, in words or otherwise (it took Faramir a few weeks, and even then, capture was not in his game plan). She wanted someone who could at least understand her, and you convey that very well.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm so pleased you liked this, especially as you can write Eowyn so well, while I struggle with the lady.Unlike Arwen, she does not speak to me.
Julia · 7 January 2007 · Chapter 7: A Man of Worth - Éowyn
Um, can I nickname this one "Eowyn Finally Develops a Brain," or "Rebound Hits Eowyn Like a Brick" ? Just joking, but you know that I always felt she was lucky to get Fara.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review. LOL I agree with you, though she was the highest ranking lady around that Faramir could marry.
Bodkin · 7 January 2007 · Chapter 4: Last Thoughts - Boromir
Glory? M'mm. Security, maybe. He's spent too long standing against the irresistible, poor man, and I think protecting Gondor was his first thought. But then, I do like Boromir!
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I never liked Boromir in the books, the films made him like him better, then too many wonderful Boromir fanfics, turned me right off him! I do like the way you portray him though and pity the poor man.
Bodkin · 7 January 2007 · Chapter 3: The Parting Gift - Galadriel
Courageous decision - to embrace the future instead of turning away from it. But Galadriel never lacked courage.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I like Galadriel, she is a woman/Elf ahead of her time.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 6: Thengling Mighty - Théoden
Oh, how wonderful a look at Theoden's last few days, all surrounded by the glory he has truly deserved and of which he was almost robbed totally by Wormtongue.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this. I think Tolkien contrasts Denethor and Theoden well, in how they spend their last days and am glad Theoden died with honour and glory.
Julia · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 6: Thengling Mighty - Théoden
Another first-rate drabble, showing Theoden's darkness and then his healing by Gandalf. Liked the phrase "The children of his House."
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review . I'm pleased you enjoyed this. Raksha suggested the phase you like.
harrowcat · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 6: Thengling Mighty - Théoden

Excellent look at Theoden's fall and rise; with a really beautiful, perfect, last line.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I think the last line is a mixture of Shakespeare and Wordsworth !I'm glad you like it.
RS · 2 January 2007 · Chapter 5: Blessed by Hope - Éomer
OOHHHH!!! This gives me goosebumps! I truly am enjoying your drabbles. Though I sometimes don't leave reviews for all of them, rest assured they are read by this reader. Hope we have more drabbles for the year 2007!
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I am delighted you are enjoying my first attempts at drabble writing.I certainly hope to feel inspired to write more !
Julia · 2 January 2007 · Chapter 5: Blessed by Hope - Éomer
A very good drabble--Eomer is one of my favorite characters, and it's always nice to get inside his head.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I like Eomer too but needed Raksha's help to get inside his head !
Larner · 2 January 2007 · Chapter 5: Blessed by Hope - Éomer
Between you, you and Raksha have indeed presented us with a wonderful impression of Eomer's first sight of Aragorn son of Arathorn.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm so pleased you liked this.
shirebound · 2 January 2007 · Chapter 5: Blessed by Hope - Éomer
He stirs my soul. The light in his eyes kindles hope anew That's wonderful. Eomer certainly did have an instantaneous and permanent respect for Aragorn.

harrowcat · 2 January 2007 · Chapter 5: Blessed by Hope - Éomer
I do like the title of this piece Linda. Coupled with the last line it makes it great.

harrowcat · 1 January 2007 · Chapter 4: Last Thoughts - Boromir
I hope that these aren't YOUR last thoughts on Boromir as well as you write him well. So sad that he is still doubting himself to the very end. This is one scene in the film that I liked even though it really was a cinematic closure device. Happy 2007 one and all.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I have to admit I feel I don't know Boromir well enough to be certain what his last thoughts would be. I found the scene moving too in the film. Wishing you a very happy 2007 too !
Larner · 31 December 2006 · Chapter 4: Last Thoughts - Boromir
Alas, Boromir; it is a question to be wondered at. Although I think in the end Boromir would have borne with Aragorn accepting the Winged Crown.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I just don't know about Boromir as in an earlier version, I believe Tolkien had him fight a dual with Aragorn !
Julia · 31 December 2006 · Chapter 4: Last Thoughts - Boromir
A very well-written drabble. Even a fellow non-Boromir fancier like me could not help but feel some pity for him.
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you could pity poor Boromir too.
Raksha The Demon · 31 December 2006 · Chapter 4: Last Thoughts - Boromir
How sad that it takes his own approaching death to render Boromir introspective, willing to question himself. At least he seems to know he did right to urge Aragorn to go to Minas Tirith and save Gondor in his stead. Good drabble!
Author's reply
Goodness, that was quick.I had only just pressed the show button !Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you liked the drabble. I was thinking of Fafner the dragon, who is wise when dying !
RS · 28 December 2006 · Chapter 3: The Parting Gift - Galadriel
This is beautiful! I can just imagine her watching the fellowship leave with this thought in her mind. Truly poetic. "Almost everyone finds Aragorn adorable" will work--works for me!
Author's reply
Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm so pleased you enjoyed this. As you might guess,I am one who adores Aragorn !
