I always thought the part in the book where Aragorn uses the seeing stone was good. You did a great job putting Aragorn thoughts on paper.

grumpy · 21 May 2007 · Chapter 11: Celebration

Good thing that Strider was released from this marriage, or Arwen would have had to go out and claim what is hers, Meanwhile the village will get a fine guard beast.

Larner · 17 May 2007 · Chapter 12: Shadow

Sounds almost like a marriage between movie and book-verse here, and well done indeed, as this ought to have occurred in Helm's Deep with but one Hobbit in tow. But the determination is there, and the readiness to face Sauron and let him at last know what he faces.

Larner · 17 May 2007 · Chapter 11: Celebration

And she finds a place among her own people. And love the realization there is another love for this stranger, and a great celebration to know when the day when he achieves it may come.

Larner · 17 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Rogue

Okay, so this is her true consort--sounds like a lion? But how did it come to such a place, we wonders?

Linda Hoyland · 16 May 2007 · Chapter 12: Shadow

Aragorn is just so brave. This must be a chilling prospect for him.

Linda Hoyland · 16 May 2007 · Chapter 11: Celebration

This has been a fascinating story which still leaves me hungry for more.Larina is truly intruiging.

grumpy · 14 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Rogue

I have been thinking, maybe they can make a deal with this beast, no killing and it can stay. Make it a nice hut, they can use it to scare off wolves, bears or whatever come along.

Author's reply

Great idea as always. ;)

Elflingimp · 10 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Rogue

Timmy you still have me guessing, but I am really enjoying it, will wait for more!

Author's reply

Thanks for telling me!

RS · 9 May 2007 · Chapter 9: Knife

So she does not have power over everyone! COME ON PROMPT!

Author's reply

Nope, she doesn't. And this little story comes closer to its end.

Larner · 9 May 2007 · Chapter 9: Knife

So, the story progresses, and our Aragorn is able to fight this woman's power almost effectively. Interesting. Now, to find out the nature of the beast!

Author's reply

We always knew that Aragorn is stronger than any woman, um, power. :)

Elflingimp · 9 May 2007 · Chapter 9: Knife

Oh Come on! I am dying to know what is going to happen! Please update soon!(sorry but I am not used to such good short stories)

Author's reply

Thanks, Elflingimp, that you like the short contributions to the challenge. It will be a short story indeed. ;)

Linda Hoyland · 30 April 2007 · Chapter 8: Secrecy

So poor Aragorn has an unwanted wife?Oh dear. This is gripping.

Author's reply

Well, remember, it's just a short-short story. There's not much room for more than a mere touch of drama... :)

Linda Hoyland · 30 April 2007 · Chapter 7: Prank

A great twist !

Linda Hoyland · 30 April 2007 · Chapter 6: Sky

Poor Larina, another of your fascinating OCs,who has caught my interest.

Author's reply

Too much honor, Linda, for this is a too small space to develop a character.

Linda Hoyland · 30 April 2007 · Chapter 5: Abandoned

I love all the suspense !

Author's reply

My gratitude goes to Michelle, who introduced me to this challenge... and I just couldn't help myself and got into sequels... ;)

grumpy · 21 April 2007 · Chapter 8: Secrecy

No, Aragorn, do not go into any hut with this woman. Who knows what she will do behind a closed hut door. What will Arwen say, just wait till Elrond finds out about this. Quick distract her, and make a run for it.

Author's reply

Maybe he will never tell Arwen a single word about it... But there is still a beast to worry about, so the hut will have to wait.

Larner · 20 April 2007 · Chapter 8: Secrecy

Alas, poor Strider--caught in a situation he doesn't properly understand in which he fails to hold the proper information. Let me see if I understand--a spell of some kind on this woman in which she draws the men of the village, apparently, only to be broken when a Man manages to break the spell with understanding? I hope they don't need sexual congress to break it!

Author's reply

Ah, what a nice idea! I haven't thought about that yet, but if you bring it up... I might. :)

RS · 20 April 2007 · Chapter 8: Secrecy

Ok, when is the next prompt?!! Explain, Larina, Explain!!!!! What are you hiding?!!!

Author's reply

Well, if I knew I would tell you... :-)

Grumpy · 14 April 2007 · Chapter 7: Prank

Hold on there. If there is to be any gifting of Aragorn as a bridegroom, I want a chance at him. I can not sing, but I do make a great pot roast, and Strder does look like he could use some fatting up.

Author's reply

:) Always so good to hear from you, Grumpy! Can't tell you how much I missed your wonderful comments...

viggomaniac · 13 April 2007 · Chapter 2: Clouds

Loved that chapter. You really made me sympathize with Boromir and the difficulty of his task. So sad that he came to the end he did -- a flawed but ultimately noble character in my estimation.

Author's reply

Yes, and the flaws are what makes him so great and... human.

Larner · 12 April 2007 · Chapter 7: Prank

Oookay! How did this happen? This is becoming very fascinating. How is Aragorn getting out of marrying ANYONE, as we know his heart is given elsewhere?

Author's reply

The subject of 'how to get married' should be looked at very closely in this village... :)

Larner · 9 April 2007 · Chapter 6: Sky

A grief to be cast out, and then left behind in such a manner by one she'd come to love and honor so. Now she has met one intended to be a judge and arbiter of justice himself. This will be an interesting visit, I think.

Author's reply

Interesting indeed. Maybe not in the way it's supposed to be.

grumpy · 9 April 2007 · Chapter 6: Sky

Yes the villagers need to be educated, mostly to stop leaving folks out on the fen.

Author's reply

Yes, some of them might meet Gollum along the way...

RS · 8 April 2007 · Chapter 6: Sky

Hmmmmm....so the plot thickens!!! She "will teach them"??? And I don't suppose her teachings will involve Aragorn? Damn these 500 words!!!

Author's reply

Yep, right, it's hard to stop after a page... ;)
