Hello Agape4Gondor!
Gandalf is one of my favourite characters, so I really appreciated reading this fascinating insight into his thoughts. I loved the start (Gwahir is another of my favourites)- I loved the ending. Pipeweed? - so 'homely' after all the Maia had endured. Gandalf's reactions to the Balrog of Morgoth; his concerns for the Fellowship; his understanding that he cannot always be of help - they all make this a wonderful gap-filler. Many thanks for giving me a greater understanding of this situation.

I have a difficult time with Gandalf... as a Maia, I expect him to 'know' everything and be able to save everyone.... I wonder if he felt the same frustration. And yes, pipeweed and putting your feet up by the fire really are great medicine after what he'd been through.

Lovely, Agape, just lovely.
"The weight was so strong upon young Frodo when I left him. How much more must it weigh so close to Moria?"
Did you by any chance mean "Mordor" here?
Anway, I liked this "inside" view of Gandalf's thoughts upon returning to Arda. He would indeed have many questions and doubts about what might be happening without him there to see things through. It must have been somewhat humbling for him to realize that his presence wasn't absolutely necessary at all points. I think we see this lesson played out later where he doesn't always take center stage in the decision-makings of the Lords of the West, but let's Aragorn take the lead.

Thanks so much for catching that error, Fiondil. I've corrected it!
I wonder what the Valar thing of his 'interference?'

Bravo!! This soars like the eagle. I love that his thoughts are with the Fellowship and their individual needs.
Beautiful.

Don't you just love that, Pearl - I know he was just come back 'from the dead' but his love of the Hobbits and his concern for all of Middle-earth would have, IMHO, been paramount.

Well done! This is a wonderful gap-filler.

Thank you, shirebound... I liked the idea that he first was taken to Lorien.
