Thranduil is not happy. I hope he does not blame the healer or sword-master, but I don't want him to be too hard on Lariel either. What will Elrond do when he finds out? And will Glorfindel fetch a snake in time? Please keep writing!
Author's reply
Thanks for your review, Mysterious Jedi! You are the first reviewer that has ever read this story that had some sympathy for Lariel. I salute you for that! :) There is much more to come!

You know, it is hard to find someone who can write wee Estel fics these days, but this fic and the previous one have caught my attention so well, that I find myself reading it each night.
Great job.

What a bittersweet chapter. Legolas' interaction with Estel is definately a good background for the deep friendship that we know will exist. Excellent filler!

· Chapter 42: Challenges
Oh, poor Estel! He's had a bit of a rough time in this story, hasn't he? I have been reading this story for several days straight, trying to get caught up, and I'm greatly looking forward to the next chapter. I do have one question, though. How long have they been back in Mirkwood? I thought it was only a day or two, but then the healer wouldn't have had time to travel to Lake Town, study with the human healers, and return to Mirkwood to tend Estel. Did I misread the length of time since their return? But I am really enjoying this story, and seeing Thranduil confuse all his people with his concern for Estel. :)
Author's reply
Ah Misty, you have a quick eye, don't you? I did not really specify a set number of days, but rather used the action of Thedin's return to loosely give a time frame of "some" days pasting.
I never thought I would be able to write Thranduil, but I am beginning to really like writing him. He is, quite frankly, fascinating!
Thanks for your review!

· Chapter 41: Glory in Darkness
Poor little Estel! This was an excellent chapter. I think you really have the characterization of Estel at that age spot on. God knows I've taken care of plently of four year olds. He's a bit brighter than most, but then again, he's Estel, and he was raised by elves. That helps. Keep up the great work!
Author's reply
Thanks for your review, Nikara,
I've based Estel on my grandson, Lance. He truly is my inspiration. (And of course I got married when I was 5 myself or else I'd surly not be old enough to be a grandmother!!!) ;)

Ha! I'm finally caught up! I've really been enjoying this story, even if there are a few things that I have some issues with. I love your characterization, and I appreciate the way that you create convincing OC's. Very nice. A few opinions though- I don't think you really need as many flashbacks to your own stories, especially not long ones. They tend to interrupt the flow of the story a bit too much. Also, I doubt that most elves would know who has the elven rings, especially in the case of Elrond. Glorfy and the immediate family- sure. All of the elves living in Rivendell (such as the bad guy in the last story)- not so much. It has become a central part to the story, s I understand why you need it, I just doubt that it is particularly cannon. Anyways, I've really enjoyed everything thus far, and I can't wait to read more developments! Keep it up!
Author's reply
Hi, Nikara,
I'm just getting around to trying to answer your questions. Yes, I absolutely stumbled into the mistake regarding Elrond's ring. I can only claim ignorance. I've been learning more as I go along.
I understand your thoughts about the flashbacks too. You're probably right, but I tend to write what I am feeling at the time. It's not the best way to write, but it seems to work for me. My muse seems to be very particular about what she feeds me.
Lastly, even though I try to be as accurate as possible, this story is AU and not totally canon. (Gee, I hope I did not forget to put that in the story breakdown!)
Hugs,
Cindy

Like I said before, I love how you wrote Thranduil. And, of course, my favourite elf-knight ever, Elrohir. Beautiful writing.

Hello Tira,
Thanks so much for your review! I am so glad that you are enjoying how I write Thranduil.
Oh my, another Elrohir fan, huh? Well, my friend, I am about to rock your world later on because Elrohir and Thranduil are going to go head to head in about 20 chapters. It should be very interesting! ; ) I will be very curious to hear your ractions to those scenes!

Hee Hee! I love that last line. Legolas, I have a feeling that Glorfy isn't going to be particularly pleased that you just said that! On another note- when I asked you to update, I didn't realize that it would mean this! Yikes! You've had a ton of those chapters tucked away, haven't you? I'm loving, but I'm definitely not going to be able to get through them all tonight. Just know that I'm happily reading away!

Don't worry about it, Nikara! I'm just thrilled that someone is reading. : ) There are plenty of chapters left for you to read, so there is no hurry. Take your time and enjoy!

Poor Legolas - does he really think his father doesn't know everything that goes on?! Especially in regards to his son!
I love to see how the relationship between Estel and Legolas grows. Slowly, as most do, yet Legolas has already fallen under his spell.
Yes, I hope these reviews encourage you to write the next installment! I'm wondering about Elladan!
