Larner · 12 April 2020 · Chapter 3: Gandalf's Arrival

Poor lads! Now they're catching it from Sam, and with the Wizard and Ranger as witnesses. Ah, dear!

Larner · 11 April 2020 · Chapter 2: Breakfast at Bag End

Oh, but this is the Lotho we love to hate. Glad Frodo is able to ignore him, but reacts to the arrival of Gandalf as he does.

Author's reply

Thank you for reading, a little more of Lotho to come yet, though I don't suppose your view of him will improve any. Thank you for reading. Jules6

Larner · 11 April 2020 · Chapter 1: Unexpected Introductions

Alas, poor Frodo--the Ranger was perhaps too much for him! Heh! And alas for Aragorn's backside, having been stuck with a Hobbit's hand trowel! Hopefully Bilbo can bring order out of this chaos.

Author's reply

Yes, alas, those trowels can be tricky items to navigate, even for a ranger. Thank you for reading - very much appreciated. I apologize for the delay in replying. Jules6

Lindelea · 9 April 2020 · Chapter 1: Unexpected Introductions

shirebound · 17 September 2019 · Chapter 2: Breakfast at Bag End

It's intriguing to think about Strider at the Birthday Party. I enjoy reading about him meeting Frodo pre-Quest.

shirebound · 14 April 2019 · Chapter 1: Unexpected Introductions

Strider had vowed to protect Bilbo when the Ring Wraiths are sent by the Dark Lord but he is unaware that the legacy of who is to carry the Ring to be destroyed falls upon a totally different Baggins hobbit. That's an interesting and creative premise for a story.

Wind Baggins · 12 January 2011 · Chapter 13: Author's Note

I really like this story! You should continue it!

*teehee* I am being annoying..^-^ cant wait till next update!xoxoxox ~Katie

Author's reply

Dear Katie, No, you are not being annoying, but I have recently had a major computer crash, and I lost all the stories that I have written or been in the middle of - ALL of them. Including my other fandoms. Most I should be able to get back, including Escape, just may take a little time. I had a lot of ideas for the next chapter and future ones that are lost permanently, but hopefully the story will come out all right. Will up date as soon as I possibly can. JULES6

Alex Robert · 10 April 2006 · Chapter 12: Sacrifice

Wow!!! That was so amazing!!! The way you describe how each character is feeling is amazing!Oh please don't keep us in suspense much longer!!!!

Author's reply

Thank you for such a great review. Happy to see some people are still reading. I am about halfway through the new chapter - which has a lot of changes from the book and the movie. I am not using Arwen or Glorfindel to rescue Frodo and the chapter is proving to be one of the more difficult ones. I do hope you keep reading, there is a long way to go and lots of twists and turns along the way. JULES

Lotrgirl1415 · 13 December 2005 · Chapter 12: Sacrifice

sorry i havent left a proper review hun! I loved this update and almost died of joy ..;) Poor lil Frodo all hurty!*hugsforfrodo* "Ouch! Not so hard Katie!I'm in pain!" shouted Frodo in despair. "I'm sorry Frodo I just wanted you to feel better." "Well, In that case hug away" And so Frodo and Katie hugged for 7 hours until he was ALL better, then they got married had 7 children, and lived happily ever after. ...And so concludes the story of Frodo Baggins, the most fameousest hobbit of them all. The End .... well..okay maybe i got a little carried away...but that was a pretty good ending *yetanotherfangirlmomentofstupidness* Anyhoo..loved the update Jules..keep up the great work, and I shall be a good litle reader and wait as patiently as possible for the next update of your series of Stories. lots of love, Katie

Rick from Vero · 23 November 2005 · Chapter 11: Into The Wild

Jules, When will the next chapter come out? Looking forward to it greatly. Rick

Author's reply

Dear Rick, And everyone else patiently waiting for the next chapter. I promise that I am doing it as quickly as I can, but RL often gets in the way. The next chapter is currently about 60% completed - but one of the most complicated that I have written to date. With the introduction of new characters and new place. The next chapter will be the last for this story and it will be the stepping stone for the continuation of the series through the next story. So it is critical that I get some of the plot right in this chapter. I do apologize that you have had to wait so long, but hopefully an update as soon as I can. Thanks for reading and taking the time to tell me that you are still reading. JULES

Hi Victoria, Humbled by your comments and so glad you have enjoyed the story so far. The next chapter - over 25 000 words has been written - in the process of being betaed - so updating very soon. Thanks and hope you keep reading - there are lots more twists and turns to come. JULES

hey sweets, im just reviewing again(my lil annoying self)lol i still love evey word and cannot wait till next update! lots of love, *katie*

Author's reply

Hello, Thanks for still thinking about this story. I am working on the next chapter - but it has been one of the more difficult ones that I just want to work. It has a bit more to go - including the scenes from Weathertop - which are a real challenge. You are not annoying at all - I really appreciate the note - I just don't want to update for the sake of updating - I want the story to flow well for further chapters later and for readers to enjoy the journey I am trying to take them on. JULES

Lotrgirl1415 · 9 September 2004 · Chapter 10: The Road to Bree

Author's reply

Hi Katie, After Hurricane Frances - just what you needed from my story then - MORE WATER !!!!!! LOL Thanks for thinking of my story in a scary time for you. Hope everything works out okay. Lots more to come - but the next two chapters are going to be the hardest yet - with Weathertop and the journey to Rivendell. Hope you keep reading. And please - let me know always - love the reviews - makes me write more. JULES

Iorhael · 9 September 2004 · Chapter 10: The Road to Bree

Oh, July, I so much read this one! My goodness! Well, - I always marvel at your stamina to write this long in one chapter. If this were my fic, I could split it into 5 or 6 chaps! - The part in the river is so thrilling! I was on the edge of my seat and that's true! - I was touched you inserted the part where Frodo remembered his parents when he was drowning. So sad. Poor Frodo. - And Bill Ferny? What an evil man! Well, I don't know if you decide to focus or extend the part of Frodo with the man or you'd prefer Frodo to vanish. I'll follow wherever you lead the story... I'm so enjoying this - well, you know, I enjoy angst stories. And this one is amazing!

Author's reply

Hello Iorhael, You don't know how much you just made my day with your review. Thank you so much for the kind words. Actually you would kick me to know that this particular chapter has been written since June but my Beta was away for a considerable time - she has done her usual outstanding job of making sure my tangled up words make sense. The second part to Frodo and the Ruffian was actually written a long time ago - I just ended this chapter with the first half. I had a different idea about Frodo and the ring and by the time I finished this chapter I had changed it again - so now I have to do it different. Bill Ferny wasn't a cast member until I was almost finished - he was previously just known as the "Ruffian" who grabs Frodo. But we will see him return later as I intend to write the Scouring of the Shire at some point and will include him and Mr Goatleaf as key characters in those chapters. As for the river scene - that actually comes from a story of mine from another fandom I wrote almost 3 years ago - I changed the setting and the names, but basically the same - especially the white shirt being caught on the tree branch. Please keep reading - it takes a while to get it all together and although this story may have only two chapters to go - they are very pivotal to the story line or later and Weathertop and onto Rivendell are a challenge all of their own. Lots of changes in mind - but will have to wait and see how they sound on the page. Thanks so much for reviewing - hopefully the next chapter will be ready as soon as I can. It is started - but slow going to include everything and all the tension that I need. JULES
