“The grasshopper of doom!” ROTFL!!! That was brilliant, Lily! Sweet revenge, indeed! Now he only had to worry about Frodo and the ideas the boy might come up with soon. Well, that's Merimac's own fault. He's far too good a teacher :) P.S.: Although Maseric and Marroc have a lot in common, I don't think Maseric is as dangerous as Marroc proved to be. Maseric wouldn't try anything like that again, I think. Marroc would try to take revenge on Frodo as soon as possible! It's a never-ending story, I fear.

If Frodo ever tells me some of the pranks he come up with I'm sure Merimac will end in a bit of trouble as well - seeing who Frodo has got it from and that Saradoc knows about that :) I agree. As another reviewer said at LJ, Maseric will probably spend the next few weeks at the other end of Brandy Hall - far away from Frodo and embarrassment.

Perfect revenge, and well-executed!

Author's reply

One should never take on Frodo and Merimac together. :)

LOL Brilliant prank and it was brilliantly played too!

Thanks :)

The Scoundrel in training, under the aegis of the last one to hold the title! Heh! Wonderful payback.

Author's reply

I wonder if Frodo will tell me some of the ideas he came up with. I'm sure there must have been some... maybe some that got Mac in trouble with Saradoc because the latter knew who Frodo was trained by? :) Thanks for reading.

Frodo glowed with the pride of a restored reputation Yay. I love happy endings.

Author's reply

Yep, happy endings are great - especiallly if they include a happy Frodo :) Thanks for reading!

LOL! A great prank! I love the "grasshopper of doom" and of course, Mac's little quip: “You know, having a wash time and time again should prevent that” LOL!

Author's reply

Merimac enjoyed this prank even more than Frodo, I think :)

Larner · 21 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

Ah, Maseric--what you have set in motion! I suspect I shall love this.

Author's reply

*grins* You shouldn't have Frodo as your enemy, especially not if he allies with Merimac - Master of the Arts of Mischief, was it?

Armariel · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

Heheh, very cute! And I would dearly love to know how Maseric gets HIS backside exposed.......maybe a follow-up is in order? teehee! ~~~~{~@

Author's reply

Don't worry, Frodo will get his revenge - and Merimac will enjoy it just as much as Frodo :) Thanks for reading.

No galu govad gen = “May blessings go with you” It is Sindarin <3

lotrgirl1415 · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

What a horrible thing to do to poor Frodo...stealing his clothes, and all that about being the Master’s darling. I almost felt that I should jump into my computer screen to give that Maseric a good beating...lol But all that would come from that would be a broken computer monitor and my family pointing and laughing at me...so in the end I decided against it. ;) I love that Merimac came to the rescue, if it had been anyone else...Frodo would surely be picked on more. I really enjoy this story and am excited to learn what happens next! <3 No galu govad gen --Katie

Author's reply

Merimac might pick on Frodo for a while and tease him about the incident but I think in the end running into Merimac was the best thing that could have happened to Frodo. Thanks for reading! No galu govad gen May I ask you what that means? And what language is is?

Andrea · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

Maseric? Never heard of him before. Is he in the family trees, or an OC? He achieved what he wanted though, he made Frodo very, very angry. Maybe even too angry ;-) Merimac to the rescue! I enjoyed that part a great deal! And he wouldn't be Merimac if he didn't take advantage of the situation! But now Maseric has not only one, but two enemies! Let's see what Mac comes up with! It will be a grand plan, I'm sure!

Author's reply

Maseric's an OC - very much the English Marroc, but I didn't want to take him over into the English stories. It's enough to have one Marroc .... and Maseric isn't quite as bad. Frodo is very angry - and so is Mac. No one embarrasses his cousin and gets away unharmed. And he wouldn't be Merimac if he didn't take advantage of the situation! That's so true! I think that little event made his day :)

SurgicalSteel · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

Merimac has a rather wicked sense of humor, doesn't he? Can't wait to see where this goes!

Author's reply

Merimac doesn't only have a very wicked sense of humor. He isn't ashamed of anything - at least I have found nothing in the 14 months I'm now exploring his character. He loves Frodo and is always willing to give advice, but he wouldn't be Merimac if he let a situation like this pass without a teasing comment.

Breon Briarwood · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

Oh, dear, what has he got himself into now? I just love the relationship you've developed between Frodo and Merimac. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Author's reply

I like to see Frodo and Mac together. Frodo, in my stories, is always a little shy and withdrawn and keeps everything private. Merimac is just the right force (due to his directness and openess) to lurk him out of his hole and have him show his fire.

SlightlyTookish · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

Aww, poor Frodo! I couldn't help but laugh, though, at this line: Had it not been his bare backside that waggled through the darkness he would have thought the situation comical. Hee! And I love how Merimac greets him, and how he deals with Frodo's story about the dragon. I'm looking forward to the next chapter :)

Author's reply

Merimac very much enjoyed Frodo's plight - and I'm sure he will tease him for quite a while. I'm glad it gave you a laugh.

Grey Wonderer · 19 August 2007 · Chapter 1: Master's Darling

I do like Merimac's thinking at the end of this one. An in the background helper is exactly what is needed here. I enjoyed this very much.

Author's reply

It is. If Frodo were to strike back alone Maseric would find another way to avenge whatever Frodo will be doing. Besides, it will comfort Frodo a great deal to know that he doesn't have to fight this battle alone. Thanks a lot!
