Too proud indeed--too proud by half; and lost through their pride and fear.
Author's reply
Their pride was their downfall, though they were once a great people. It's very interesting to explore their development.
Thanks for the review!

Very nice diction, somewhat Tennysonian (I've often thought Tolkien's poetry a bit tennysonian). It's old-fashioned but doesn't sound hokey, as usually happens when a poet attempts such. You make good use of poetic devices such as consonance and assonance ("Gold joy pervades, and glories grow", "fancied foe", etc.) without overdoing it, and the lines scan without sounding sing-songy and the rhymes don't sound trite and predictable (I like how you use half-rhymes sometimes like "waves" and "gaze". You show a good command of language throughout.
Excellent job! (praise from a fellow poet;);))

I'm honored by that praise, and I'll look at your poems as soon as I can. Thank you for that review -- it was extremely helpful, because now I know my strong points and know where to improve myself, if that makes sense.
Thanks once more, and I'm glad you liked it.

Oh my goodness! This was lovely! And each phase of Numenor so beautifully depicted. I loved the last line....
