No fair!! You posted this prologue years ago and never wrote any more chapters! I would have liked to read how Elurin and Eluréd faired in Finrod and Amarië's custody. Please, please, won't you return to it and continue it?

Aren't you going to continue this?

I agree with everyone else who have left reviews. This is a wonderful story and needs to be completed. I hope to see more on this story soon.

please do continue - this is a great start. Be fun to see how things develop & how often the twins ask after Glorfindel.

Thinking about it, Elrond would be the likeliest close relation, nephew, that they have. Their brother in law and sister are not in a postion to foster them. I would like to see this story continue, it would be intersting to see how they cope with life as a family and did they ask about Glorfi? Lynda

Oh Rhyselle, after reading the first chapters of ‚Elf, Interrupted’, I *so* wanted more about Glorfindel and the twins, and hoped Fiondil would one day write about their release from Mandos. Though I always hoped Glorfindel would be there for them, I’m not sure if he’s still in Aman at this point, and it is probably better for them to have a whole family. So Finrod is the perfect choice; he’s a Reborn himself and knows what they’re going through, he’s a friend of Glorfindel (and can regale them with all of Glorfindel’s pranks and other failings *grin*), and he’s related to them on both their true parent’s sides. Though I’d need a Hobbit to explain the correct degree ;-) Now I am absolutely happy to get the story I had wanted! It was so cruel to abandon these little elflings in the forest to a terrible death; no wonder it took so long for them to be ready for the rebirth. I am glad Námo and Irmo care so much for them and look for the perfect place for them to be fostered. This will be interesting, and I truly look forward to more of this story!

I got to read this when it was in work, twin and I liked it then. I like the polished version even more. I'm still tickled with the idea that Elured is a scribe and singer (you know why!). Do I get an early look at the other chapters too? Please? Hugs, Edlyn

A lovely tale. As one whose children all came to me pre-growed, I empathise with these.

While all five of my children were borne by me, I have friends who have fostered and adopted and married into families with grown children, and I have always appreciated that no matter if the children are babes in arms or rambunctious 18-year-olds, they all need the love of a family. Thank you for reviewing!

I loved this plot and everything. I'm glad also that Elured and Elurin are finally living a childhood that they could not have in Middle Earth. I wonder how they'll react to Finrod as their foster-father?? I think that you have done a wonderful job on this and since I read Fiondil's 'Elf Interrupted'but am guilty for not reviewing, I don't think you mangled anything. >>>"At least with this bringing of children into the household I won't be getting fat!" What did Amarie mean by this? I don't understand what she is saying here will you please explain it?? Thanks for writing!

I appreciate your commenting on the start of my tale. Thank you! You asked: [quote] >>>"At least with this bringing of children into the household I won't be getting fat!" What did Amarie mean by this? I don't understand what she is saying here will you please explain it?? [end quote] Amarie and Finrod are already parents and their children have grown and are out and about doing their own things at the time this story takes place. Amarie is commenting that she doesn't have to endure a pregnancy in order to bring the twins into her home. :-)

Ah! What a lovely idea for a fic: More Finrod! More Amarië! More Námo and Irmo! More twins! More everybody! Let's see: Finrod and the twins are -- if I'm counting on my fingers correctly -- second cousins once removed. It'll be interesting to see how those who died as children differ from the older Reborn we've seen so far. Can we bribe you to winkle more details out of Fiondil? ;-) [Apologies, but I can't stop being a (volunteer, occasional, retired) proofreader. In my copy of the Silmarillion (2nd ed. Houghton Mifflin trade paperback), both in the text and in the Index, the twins' names are accented on the *second* syllable: Eluréd, Elurín. (And for what it's worth, it's that way also in the Encyclopedia of Arda.) I'm not an expert, and I'm quite willing to be proven wrong if there's some reason why my Sil is untrustworthy. But you might want to look into it.]

Thank you very much for reviewing! I hadn't intended to post this yet and then the "Thanksgiving" story showed up and, well, I guess Lord Námo decided that it was time to get the tale started. :-) I just hope he'll be as kind to me as he has been to Fiondil, and keep telling me what is going on! Ah! I knew I oughtn't proofread on the aftereffects of too much turkey and pumpkin pie! I appreciate your kind and diplomatic words about the placement of the accent marks on the ellyn names. Thank you! I'll pop in a fix them after I get home from work.
