What a sweet story! I can just see it, the grandparents dancing together in the firelight, surrounded by laughing children and tweens, sharing their love and joy in each other. And all because a little child didn't limit what they could or should do. Just lovely. Thank you so much for writing it. I don't know when you wrote this, but I hope your grandfather is doing well, and if not that he was surrounded by love as the end came. BTW, just to let you know, I found this story through the undiscovered-gems LJ. I hope other people find it here too.

Eine wunderschöne Geschichte und trotzdem schrecklich traurig! Pippin hat die seltene Begabung, andere Leute aufzuheitern, selbst wenn sie verzweifelt sind. Ich glaube, für den alten Willibald war dies der schönste Abend seit langer Zeit, und für seine Frau natürlich auch. Ich wünsche Deinen Großeltern alles Gute!
