Raksha The Demon · 10 April 2008 · Chapter 3: Blood will out

Things are not what they seem - hopefully the truth will soon be revealed and justice will prevail! I liked the bit about Ostoher's descent from Elendil's ship's carpenter - the Numenoreans were famous for their crafts and engineering skills as well as their love of the sea.

Linda, just today I was asking you when you meant to post the next installment of this revision. I'm so glad you did. I love how it reads now. What an improvement on the original story, which was already good. Trust Aragorn to see that justice is done.

Author's reply

It was the Medieval king's duty to not only fight the wars but also be the Chief Justice of the land, as you illustrate in Aragorn struggles through in this chapter. I'm enjoying his efforts to get to the bottom of Ostopher's story instead of cavalier-ly sending the presumed criminal to his death. I can't wait to find out the results of the defendent's little tete-a-tete with Aragorn and Faramir. - Steff

Many thanks for your much apppreciated review.I'm pleased you are enjoying the story.I wanted to show Aragorn as a wise and just King as I believe Tolkien intended.

Larner · 10 March 2008 · Chapter 2: Don't judge a book by its cover

Sorry bout that--the computer thought I was done before I was! Now that Aragorn has found a means of seeing if Ostopher was involved in a fight we are that much closer to the truth!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much apppreciated review.Hopefully Aragorn will soon learn if there is more than there seems to be to Ostopher.

Estelcontar · 9 March 2008 · Chapter 2: Don't judge a book by its cover

Linda, you know I really enjoyed your first version of these two chapters, but just like it happened with the first chapter, I like your expanded version much more. I can't wait for chapter three.

Shireling · 8 March 2008 · Chapter 2: Don't judge a book by its cover

Hi Linda Thank goodness Aragorn and Faramir are prepared to listen to their instincts in this matter. As Faramir can attest it is hard to resist the King's insight and healing hands and I am sure the truth will out and justice will be served. I do so love 'your' Faramir. . .you and I are clearly on the same wavelength when it comes to our favorite Ranger. Thank you for sharing this story, I look forward to reading more. Hugs Helen

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I believe that neither Aragorn or Faramir would ever want to take an innocent life.Gondor is in good hands with them in charge! I always write Faramir with dark hair, but we do see him in a very similiar light.Your story is the one I currently most eagerly await updates of! I hope to post more soon, Hugs,Linda

Raksha The Demon · 8 March 2008 · Chapter 2: Don't judge a book by its cover

Ah, the plot thickens. What will the young accused criminal reveal? Trust Aragorn and Faramir to look beneath a deceptively simple surface for the truth!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review, my first for this chapter. I like to imagine that Aragorn and Faramir truly care about justice.

Miranduviel the Elf-Hobbit · 1 March 2008 · Chapter 1: Clothes maketh man

I loved your first chapter of "Mask of Virtue"! I'm waiting for King Elessar to get curious about the recaptured prisoner... (And a quick note: "clothes make the man" is an aphorism (smart remark), in this case from Mark Twain. I love his comment, and hope you will, too: "Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society." ...hmm... guess Mr. Twain never heard of Lady Godiva! (Why do I have an Aragorn and Arwen plot bunny hopping around me?)

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review and welcome to my stories. I hope to post more soon. Thanks too for sharing the Mark Twain quote which is new to me. Let me know if you write an Aragorn and Arwen story,as I'd love to read it.

Shireling · 22 February 2008 · Chapter 1: Clothes maketh man

Hi Linda I do enjoy stories that explore the beginnings of the friendship that Estel and Faramir will come to share. There is clearly more to the young convict's tale than has yet been explored and I am looking forward to finding out just how his and Maglor's stories are connected. Helen

Larner · 19 February 2008 · Chapter 1: Clothes maketh man

Excellent logic here. Now to find out WHY he was in prison and WHY he needed so desperately to get out. And why the blankness in Maglor?
