This has always been one of my favorite stories. I am so glad to see you writing again!
shirebound · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 14: Chapter Thirteen
Welcome back, Regina! :) You've imagined this event beautifully. I look forward to more of the story.
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 14: Chapter Thirteen
And he certainly has reasont to feel abandoned. Poor Frodo. At least this time she's not pushing him. And the morning will come soon enough.
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 13: Chapter Twelve
Esmie knows both Bilbo and Frodo well enough, obviously. Now--to get Frodo calmed down. Time for those cakes that were kept back.
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven
Well, she got part of what she wanted, at least. How did he become so expert, though?
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten
Oh, dear--still too intent on giving herself. I doubt it will turn out well.
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine
I find myself siding with Esmie here. And considering how many of my own stories are overdue at the moment, I can't complain about other people's ability to finish stories!
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
She's intent on putting the dessert before the main course, it sounds like! We'll see how it works out, of course.
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Forewarned is forearmed, of course. But Eglantine's ambivalence isn't likely to be helpful, I fear.
Larner · 3 December 2012 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six
He has good reason to wish both Merry and Pippin to keep quiet, of course, and too much reason to know how the rumor mill in the Shire grinds. Fun how the once respectable (predictable) Bagginses are now seen as eccentric instead! One little adventure--surely no one really noticed.... Heh!
Larner · 2 December 2012 · Chapter 5: Chapter Five
That was what I feared might happen. Now--if Pippin will only keep quiet in front of Lalia! And it does appear that Pearl needs to follow Frodo's lead rather than leading him on!
Larner · 2 December 2012 · Chapter 4: Chapter Four
Reason to be glad! But perhaps Merry's spying might lead to their undoing?
Larner · 2 December 2012 · Chapter 3: Chapter Three
It does sound like a pleasant courtship, and one does need to watch what one says around small, precocious children such as Pippin.
Larner · 2 December 2012 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two
Pippin sounds quite the handful already! Love the description of Pearl's new-learned skills, and Lilac sounds as lovely as Lalia is awful.
Larner · 2 December 2012 · Chapter 1: Chapter One
Poor Merry--stuck on Lalia detail! But he is hopefully strong enough to deal with her chair. Bless Esmie for rescuing poor Pearl.
Larner · 2 December 2012 · Chapter 0: Author's Prologue
I may have read this elsewhere, but look forward to reading it now.
Pervinca · 19 October 2004 · Chapter 13: Chapter Twelve
I must have missed when you updated this one! I love it when people can seamlessly work in the opinions of other characters to a very well known scene. It gives the scene a new edge for when I read through it again :) You have done very well with this one - I especially liked Esmeralda's reaction. I never thought of how she might have felt about Bilbo's departure, but now I will. - Pervinca
bobo baggins · 12 October 2004 · Chapter 13: Chapter Twelve
Poor Frodo! I was always heartbroken for him when Bilbo left. This is a major turning point for him, and I know what the outcome is, but I am still interested in where you are taking this story. I really can't see what is going to happen next, so I'm anxious for the next chapter. Hope you update soon!
Nina the powerwriter · 5 October 2004 · Chapter 13: Chapter Twelve
I came across this story yesterday, and practically zoomed through it. Whoa, what a story it is! I've never seen Frodo and Pearl paired up, but it is a good match and quite interesting. Why did Pearl have to be Lalia's favorite. That ruins everything for her and Frodo. Oh well, in the long run, it's for the better. I found chapter 11 *ahem* interesting indeed. It was sensual but emotional too. Very well written. I like this story, and I hope it gets continued soon.

Well, I'm planning on chaining my muse to my wrist now, so it should get updated sooner than before! :-) Glad you're enjoying it--it's been a challenging but fun story to write so far. Regina
Pervinca · 20 June 2004 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven
I can't tell you how happy I was to see you had updated this story! I was reading it on ff.net, but I'll certainly watch it on here from now on. This chapter certainly was not what I expected (though I probably should have). You've managed to write this little adult scene so well. It had a touch of steam, but was not in any way smut. I really like the pairing of Frodo and Pearl. If Frodo was to have a chance with any lass, it may well have been Pearl. I hope you'll update again soon. This is such an interesting story. - Pervinca

Thank you for the wonderful review. :-) It took me a while to strike the balance between steam & smut; hence the wait on posting. Am glad you like Pearl; she always seemed the likeliest match for Frodo to me as well. If only . . . ;p Regina
Lyta Padfoot · 19 June 2004 · Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven
Ohhh... new chapter! Thank you for updating this marvelous story!

You're very welcome--just find it in your heart to forgive me for the long wait. :-) Regina
Grey Wonderer · 19 June 2004 · Chapter 2: Chapter Two
A very good story! I like the way Merry wound up watching Lilia. I look forward to more of this one.
bobo baggins · 28 March 2004 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten
Oooh, I am hanging by a thread trying to figure out where this is going next! I am bursting with curioisity as to how Frodo and Pearl's relationship ends up. Doesn't she end up marrying someone else? Please update the next chapter! I love the way you have integrated all the smaller stories with this one, as well. It makes everything more seamless, especially to those of us who read all the rest of your stories.
Author's reply
Thank you so much for a heartwarming review! :-) I know how long it's been since I updated (hangs head in shame). Am hoping that I'll get a new chapter up in a couple of days & that you like as much as the others. Again, many thanks! Regina
