This is way to sad. "sniffs". Tell me the poor soldier is an errand rider and not Boromir.

Nope - it's not Boromir - he's off to Rivendell...............

Sarasrati · 2 March 2009 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue
My goodness! Real life gets in the way, I don't look at this website for a few weeks, and there is a whole excellent new story posted when I come back! I had wondered a bit about what had happened when you put that note in Ten Thousand Years. Will we see what happens on the other end, with the plots hinted at here? Quite a gripping tale--I was supposed to be working and I read the whole story straight through instead (don't tell my boss)!
Author's reply
I just couldn't put anything more in 10,000 - it is way too long as it is! As I said, though, the Muse insisted the whole story be told.... PS - Your secret is safe with me.... Thanks for reading and reviewing and your kind support! Most appreciated.
Larner · 2 March 2009 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue
So it is that the word failed to come to Denethor in spite of the letter sent by Boromir himself. Alas for the rider! And alas for Rohan that the word was so halted!
Author's reply
I wonder if Denethor had really realized the extent of Theoden King's malady - might he have tried to do something? Yet, again - according to Pip - the Steward seemed to know a LOT about his neighbors... However, Denethor fully expected Rohan to come - until the very end, when Sauron's lies finally overcame him... Lots to muse on.... Very glad you were along for the ride, Larner. I most appreciated your support! Blessings in all you do!
Larner · 26 February 2009 · Chapter 6: To What End
A fascinating tale. At least he is now on his way at last.
Author's reply
He is - all that is left is the Epilogue. I've enjoyed this moment with the Man of Gondor, but his father is brutal and wants his own tale finished.... So - back I go to 10,000 Years. Bless you and thank you for the kind support. MUCH appreciated!
Tari · 26 February 2009 · Chapter 6: To What End
I,for one, think your muse is doing a wonderful job. I love Ten Thousand Years Will Not Suffice just as I love this tale. I hope Boromir's letter reached Denethor in time and I hope he is safely escorted to the Fords of Isen. I've always wondered how Wormtongue was able to get control of Theoden and reduce him to a shell of a man.
Author's reply
Bless you, Tari! I love 10,000 myself - since it's been in my life for over seven years now!!! Read the Epilogue - things do not end well - all the way around..... DRAT! Drugs - I really think that played a part in Grima's control....
Tari · 24 February 2009 · Chapter 5: Is There Hope?
So, Théodred and Háma are wise to the witch’s tricks. Good for them. I wonder how they found out. What a terrifying experience for poor Boromir. How helpless he must feel. I certainly hope the warning reaches Denethor in time.
Author's reply
Ah Denethor and Faramir - I do so wonder how they are faring - but at the moment, my main concern is Boromir.... Yes - hooray for quick-thinking Theodred - and Hama, ever faithful. Thankfully, Theoden King has made no edict against Gondor nor Boromir - nor has he said anything about Boromir being in Edoras... so I'm thinking this is why Theodred and Hama feel they can 'help' their friend... they are not going against any direct order of their King. The healer (and whoever she is in cahoots with) do not require obedience from these two.... Yet.
Larner · 24 February 2009 · Chapter 5: Is There Hope?
I'm certainly glad Theodred isn't a gormless soul! Excellent--he's managed to save Boromir's life and sent him the aid he needs. Now, to see the poisoner caught in the cleft stick of her own cutting!
Author's reply
I fear the blasted leech may be above justice - for the nonce. : ( *giggles* Theodred - as you will see - took awhile to accept the problem - perhaps, like his father, he is too good-hearted to look for treachery...
Larner · 20 February 2009 · Chapter 4: Treachery of A Friend
The vomiting has helped save his life, apparently. Now, if Theodred will only believe him.... In this case they need death for the poisoner, I fear.
Author's reply
I'm sure the vomiting helped... but I think there is more to the drink than met Boromir's (or the leach's) eye! We'll see what Theodred has been up to. Glad this has caught your attention. Thanks for the review!
Jay of Lasgalen · 20 February 2009 · Chapter 4: Treachery of A Friend
OK, there's nothing like a cliffhanger to end a chapter! I just hope it's Theodred, who's worked out what's going on ... Jay
Author's reply
Usually the 'timing' doesn't work for me with cliffhangers - but ths one did and I was glad *devilish smile*
Tari · 20 February 2009 · Chapter 4: Treachery of A Friend
What a chilling chapter. It’s a good thing I don’t bite my nails. Theodred will be devastated when he finds out what he is doing to his friend. I hope no one is at the end of the tunnel to impede Boromir’s escape. Hopefully he’ll wait until night to do so. That might be a little safer for him. A Mearh would get him out of there the fastest. (fingers crossed) I’m hoping he gets his hands on the witch that is poising him too.
Author's reply
Sorry about the nails... but I think this one is going to be pretty tense for quite some time! And poor Theodred - it looks like he is going to suffer dreadfully at this leech's hands! I don't really think Boromir can steal one of the Mearas... but who knows.
Grey Wonderer · 14 February 2009 · Chapter 3: At The Mercy of the Mark
I had hope for Boromir's quick escape there for a minute but now I don't know how he'll manage. At least he knows what's been done to him and by who. Then again, with the drug he was just given I have to wonder what he'll recall later.
Author's reply
I had thought he'd get away too - hmmm.... nasty people he's dealing with. I can't see him getting out of this without help... we'll see who shows up. Thanks for reading and reviewing.... MOST appreciated!
Tari · 11 February 2009 · Chapter 3: At The Mercy of the Mark
Based on what poor Boromir went through, I’m even happier that I have never had a hangover. How awful for him, and he wasn’t even drunk. Too bad he didn’t know how to get rid of the drug in his stomach. I don’t suppose he could have stuck his finger down his throat, filled the basin with it and then poured it out of the window. The thought that they gave Boromir arsenic horrifies me. It is definitely something Grima would do.
Author's reply
Well - we'll see if Grima had a hand in this.... As for the poison - I think we're behind quick measures....
Larner · 11 February 2009 · Chapter 3: At The Mercy of the Mark
She does appear to be the worst sort of herbalist! And love the idea he and Faramir played Hide and Seek down there in the dungeons and figured a way out. Now--to see what happens next.
Author's reply
You KNOW little boys would find the dungeons incredibly intriging. And I'm sure Eowyn was with them.... I can't see her not running around with her brother and her cousin and therefore, with the boys from Gondor. Such fun!
Larner · 3 February 2009 · Chapter 2: What Has Happened to Rohan?
Yes, drugged and soon to be lost, perhaps? And Grima slew Aunt Indis, did he? Sounds right for the creep! Excellently presented intrigue.
Author's reply
Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I'm afraid Boromir will have a tough time for a bit - ....
Grey Wonderer · 1 February 2009 · Chapter 2: What Has Happened to Rohan?
I was nervous when the horse disappeared but now I'm really worried. I wonder if it is Wormtongue that means to harm Boromir or a certain eaves-dropper from earlier. Either way, I fear Boromir will need help if he is to get out of this alive.
Author's reply
There is no way, that I can see, for our beloved Gondorian to get out of this alone... Yet, who knows where he is but those who took him??? Drat...
Tari · 30 January 2009 · Chapter 2: What Has Happened to Rohan?
If I were Boromir, I would have left Meduseld immediately upon discovering that my horse was missing. As for Grima, why Boromir would accept a drink from him is beyond me. The creature is indeed a "snake", and a poison one at that.
Author's reply
Well, Tari - he needs to get a horse. He can't walk all the way to Rivendell... *giggles* though the poor man loses the horse at Tharbad and actually walks all the way from there!!! Well - Boormir wasn't going to accept the drink - but when the servant popped in and topped it off, and knowing servants have a way of 'testing' the fruit of the vine, he assumed it was safe. However, he didn't realize that Grima has such a vast network working with him in Edoras. He does now!!! What is that definition of assume????? *sad smile* Thanks for reviewing!
Jay of Lasgalen · 29 January 2009 · Chapter 2: What Has Happened to Rohan?
When Gríma put the wine before Boromir, I was shouting, 'Don't drink it! Don't drink it!' Oh, Boromir - you know he's a poisoner! I rarely read stories with Boromir or set in Rohan (I rarely read anything without elves in it!) but I'm glad I clicked on this. I like the intrigue and mystery, and no-one knowing who they can trust. And poor Théodred being sent to the Fords of Isen. *sniff* We all know what happens to him there ...
Author's reply
I was shouting the same thing - he definitely considered not drinking it till the servant came in and topped it off. He probably thought he was being paranoid. Better paranoid than dead!!! Shees. Thank you much - I was hoping, even though Grima seems to be behind this, that the element of mystery is there. Let's not think about the Fords - drat.... Very glad you stopped by - and no, I don't believe there will be any Elves in Edoras at this time... oh - that sounds like a fun title 'Elves in Edoras' - No - go away nuzgul. Blessings!
Tithenaru · 29 January 2009 · Chapter 2: What Has Happened to Rohan?
You have created a great sense of the atmosphere at Meduseld, just how I imagine it would be before people began to question Grimas hold over the court. Poor Boromir, he was right to be suspicious of the wine - what a pity he changed his mind. What is going on? Where is his horse? I can't wait to find out Tithenaru
Author's reply
*giggles* very glad you are intrigued by the tale... It seems odd that things got sooooo out of control, but Sauruman's master, Sauron, even fooled the Numenoreans! After all, something had to happen to Boromir's horse; when Eomer meets up with the Three Hunters he says the horse THEY gave him came back riderless...... Bless you for reviewing!
Grey Wonderer · 27 January 2009 · Chapter 1: A Strange Welcome
This Hathawyn sounds like a very evil person. I enjoyed this first chapter and loved how they went about setting up the meeting. Now, unfortunately, this Hathawyn knows far too much and I can just imagine the trouble it will cause Boromir and maybe Theodred too.
Author's reply
Poor Rohan! They do not know how evil Grima is and how he 'shadows' their every move.... Poor Boromir will pay for this.... and we all know how Theodred ends up *sobs*
Larner · 27 January 2009 · Chapter 1: A Strange Welcome
Indeed a situation to be careful in. Not a good one at all, with a poisoner on the loose!
Author's reply
I didn't give the poisoner much thought in 10,000 Years - but I did KNOW she was going to come back and haunt Boromir when he rode through Edoras on his way to the Quest - I hadn't, at the time, thought it would be this nefarious! Thanks for reading and reviewing!!!
Tari · 27 January 2009 · Chapter 1: A Strange Welcome
Yahooo! Yet another tale from the master story teller. Thank goodness for the attack of the Muse. This is another part of the trilogy, which had not received much attention. Did Theodred indeed know his father was under Grima’s spell? I have to think he did. Did he try to counter Grima in any way thereby causing him to be sent to the Ford of Isen and his death? We can only guess. I was very happy to see the TBC at the end of the chapter.
Author's reply
Hi, Tari! *blushes* thanks for the huge compliment! The blasted Muse is driving me nuts - too many stories to finish - but this one, hopefully, will be short - it's only two weeks for goodness sakes!!! Theodred and the rest of Rohan didn't do anything about Grima until after Gandalf's visit on September 19th of 3018.... so they would still have been 'respectful' of the vile creature when Boromir was there.... Happy reading to you and thanks for the review!!!!
Lady Bluejay · 27 January 2009 · Chapter 1: A Strange Welcome
This is good. I was attracted by the word Edoras - couldn't you guess! LOL Now I have to try and find time to go back and read your epic saga. LBJ
Author's reply
The epic will take you many a night to read... It's from Denethor's birth to his death. I'm in the midst of writing the last year's events - 3019... and then I will be done with it - began it in January 2001..... So if I'd put Edoras in my other summaries - you would have read them all *giggles* Thanks for reading and reviewing!
