In any case, a hug from you can bring only healing, not hurt
What a dear thing to say. What a wonderful chapter! Merry's figured out a lot on his own, and now at least he isn't feeling so alone any longer. It can only do Boromir good to once again have the companionship of a hobbit, with their steadfast love and lighthearted speech.

· Chapter 51: A Meeting of Allies
A new chapter, and so soon, hooray! I'm looking forward to reading about the reunion of Boromir and Merry and to learn if the Druedain still come into the story. But I have a feeling you're going to leave us in the dark for a chapter or two, and return to Minas Tirith in the next one.
I have a question though: why do you keep calling Minas Tirith Mundberg instead of Mundburg that JRRT uses? My memory of Old English is very feeble, but isn't 'berg' used for mountains like the Dwimmorberg, and 'burg' for fortresses like Aldburg? I could be wrong, but I'm wondering.
Author's reply
Ah, thank you so much for calling my attention to that misspelling of Mundburg! You are right, it should be "burg." It was just me spelling it wrong to start with and then being consistent in my error. I shall go back and fix that for sure.
I'm still working out how to proceed in the coming chapters, but I'm hoping the Druedain will come into it, also! :-)

His hand is gentle to me and his growling has nothing but love in it!
I love that line. I can't wait for this reunion!

I've been following this story for over a year, and am always looking forward to a new chapter. I have to say, this is a brilliant piece; I feel as if JRRT himself were writing this. Thanks for the enjoyment I am getting out of this story.

Loving this story so far, excited to see where it all goes! And the medical knowledge behind the sucking chest wound was great. Hope to see more soon.

I am so happy for Merry, and look forward to that reunion, at least. And I'm glad Grithnir now knows that the King looks to return to Gondor. To know Boromir is determined to champion that claim is heartening.

Boromir will be surprised who is riding with the Rohirrim. I can't wait to see the reunion with Merry. Interesting that Boromir confides in his lieutenant for the news who Aragorn really is.

· Chapter 48: Hope Stronger Than Despair
This chapter is all about hope renewed. Pippin and Durlin have to go on hoping on faith alone while Theoden gets some really good news. The only one who is still close to despair is Faramir, but he gets help in the form of Mithrandir.

Ah! At least Theoden has excellent news, and knows that he will bring new hope and strength to Minas Tirith in the person of Denethor's older son! And Pippin has reason to strengthen his hope. Durlin has been good for him.

That was an excellent suggestion of Eadric. Boromir riding alone through the lands beset by enemy forces was never a good idea and on foot he would not reach anyone in time. This way he will arrive in Minas Tirith for the last battle.

· Chapter 10: Hill of the Eye of Númenor
I've been waiting for a good moment to stop and leave a review, and this feels like the right one. I love ending this chapter with the other half of the horn floating along the river -- backs us out from the story with a lovely, concrete image that also serves to heighten the tension and remind us that things keep moving forward, keep getting swept along.
A gripping story thusfar! Well written, and well researched (as others have noted). I am eager to catch up.
