Quite appropriate that Aragorn should comfort Faramir...he's a kind and caring man, king or not. He would never let his new royal position interfere with providing comfort to another.

I really like this. Faramir's sorrow is palpable, and his fears that Boromir suffered. And Aragorn's compassion and servanthood is shown well. Very poignant glimpse of the friendship between Aragorn and Faramir.

*hugs Faramir* I'm so glad Faramir has his devoted lord, king, and friend to sit by his side and keep him company on this night of all nights. Alas that Boromir was lost, but with his passing, firm bonds of brotherhood were forged between these two Ranger Captains...not just as King and Steward. I'm glad Aragorn can be the father to Faramir he so lacked, as well, caring for him, and that another anniversary will not pass by without Eowyn joining Faramir first. Faramir has lost father and brother, but Aragorn is willing to help him heal and for that I am immensely grateful. I'm sure Boromir is watching from beyond the Circles of Arda, entrusting Faramir's care to Aragorn. This story was lovely indeed and I think it a fitting tribute not just to Boromir but to the relationship between these two scions of the House of Elendil. Thank you for a wonderful fic, Linda. ~Kaylee

*Today* is the Anniversary of the death of Boromir!?! Considering I finally made it to Rauros today when I added my mileage to my total over at The Eowyn Challenge, that's rather fitting in a way I'd reach it today of all days. Wow!! This was your usual wonderful work Linda. Very much enjoyed this extended version. Especially at the end when Faramir was musing on just how much more he had to learn about Aragorn. Poor thing was so used to being pushed aside or lahed out at over whatever for far too long from Denethor and it only stands to reason he'd still be figuring Aragorn out. This really is lovely Linda. Thanks for sharing it w/us here. :o)
