Pippin is such a dear. Such an almost-adult but still-tween!
Author's reply
He's a lot of fun to write because of that! And he talks just as fast as I do. :) *hugs him*

This chapter is awash in peace and joy, and beautifully highlights the compassion of those who try to ease distress wherever they find it, no matter how small the being who is suffering. I wish everyone in 'our' world could remember to do that.
Author's reply
Thank you, my dear! I've been wanting to do a Frodo and Este and Nienna story for a long time and finally the muse cooperated with the former! :) Glad you enjoyed! :)

It had been so long since we had any light.
Oh, dear Frodo. Dear Sam. You give us such a clear vision of Frodo's heart and soul, and the love and compassion of those who surround him.

What a gentle and tender conversation. Arwen said all the right things, in all the right ways. She really does know exactly how Sam and the others feel.
Sam held out his hand and Frodo took it and they left the room. They hadn’t needed to talk any further, for their hearts were laid bare to each other from the ordeal of the Quest and all that passed there was plain for the other to see.
That's lovely.

Thank you, my dear! Glad you enjoyed and took the time to read during moving! :)

I only left a few minutes to use the privy," the younger hobbit protested.
"He’s not supposed to be left alone, ever!"
Pippin’s lower lip trembled and he looked to be on the brink of tears.
"It’s not your fault, Pippin," Aragorn said gently as they hurried to Frodo. "It’s going to be all right. Don’t lose hope."
The young hobbit looked up at his king and tried to be brave.
Poor Pippin, I mean, what was he supposed to do? Shout for help and wake Frodo up? Leave him alone to fetch someone? He did his best!
And i love Sam wrapping his heart around Frodo's - where it has always been.
Get lost Sauron - love will win out in the end!
Author's reply
Re: get lost - You tell him! :)
Pippin did do his best of course but you must forgive poor Merry for being stressed out.
Did I ever tell you that I got a gift from my mom that were socks with two hearts - one heart completely surrounded by a larger one - I called them my Frodo and Sam socks. :)
Hantanyel for such a lovely review, my dear! :)

· Chapter 8: Brothers
All the loud noises had brought a small audience to the door, unnoticed at first by the four combatants. Arwen and Rose smiled; Aragorn, Gandalf and Faramir softly laughed. As they watched Frodo gained the advantage for the moment over his cousins. He knelt over them victoriously, but it was very short lived as he lost his balance when he was pulled back down.
Pippin looked up then and belatedly saw that they had an audience. "Gandalf! Aragorn! Faramir! Come join us!"
"Yes, do!" Frodo seconded. "But on my side! I’m being overwhelmed!"
"Then Queen Arwen has to be on our side," the impetuous Took said. He looked at the Elven lady eagerly as Sam stared at him aghast for such audacity.
Arwen laughed softly. "I thank you for the invitation, Master Peregrin," the Elf said gracefully, "but I must decline."
"But I will not," Aragorn said and waded into the fray with a large smile.
"And I must defend my brother against these terrible assaults as well," Faramir said.
The hobbits squealed in delight and Arwen laughed as Pippin and Merry crawled over all their king and his Steward, trying to find a vulnerable spot with Frodo defending them as best he could, all of them laughing in unvarnished delight.
Well, if Arwen won't take part, then can I? Hmmm????
FOR GONDOR!!!! AND THE SHIRE!!! AND THE TOPS OF HOBBITS TOUCHY TOOTSIES!!

A pretty big Hobbit there, but perhaps he's been taking lessons from Terry Pratchett's Captain Carrot, an adopted Dwarf? Heh!
Very nice to see Frodo and Faramir offering each other part of the healing both need. Sam's letter is definitely paying off.

In a big way too and in ways he couldn't have foreseen either. Not familiar with Pratchett's stories, but definitely a big Hobbit but one nonetheless. :) Glad you enjoyed.

Surprise, surprise...guess who? :) Am I still welcome after my disgraceful absence? :D
This story deserves its MEFA nomination, and I don't say that lightly because I don't read much fanfiction these days. It really does, though. I grinned through most of the first part of this story...bar the letter, of course, though even that created anticipation because I knew Aragorn was going to come. The little boy offering his stuffed bear was very cute, and the Hobbits' teasing is perfect, as always. Faramir was almost funnier though, the way he takes the whole snowballing business with such perfect calm. LOL! I'd love to see a close-up of him really getting into the competition of the thing, mild man that he is.
This thing with Sauron...almost like demonic possession but not quite...is really interesting. I look forward to seeing what you do with it...and soon! What a cliff-hanger to leave us on! :D
Hugs, blessings, and apologies for absenting myself so long and frequently.
Author's reply
Well, guess who indeed! "I thought you had abandoned the Shire forever" But how wonderful to hear from you, ammelda, and I didn't have to wait years and years either like Frodo did. Of course you are still welcome and "the oftener you came back the more I'll be pleased" So glad you are reading and enjoying. I just love Faramir to death since he is so hobbity. I could have gone longer in this chapter, but then this little ending occured and I am very happy to leave such a cliffhanger for everyone! :) *evil laugh*
