Oh, a wonderful story. I must say it had me smiling, especially your note at the end. *grin* Thanks for writing, and congrats on being nominated. ~Cal

Larner · 6 July 2009 · Chapter 7: Sunday

Ah--she lost at last--to sentiment! Poor Eowyn. But she won what was most important, and in the end that is what is important. But once Ivriniel is gone I am afraid that dress will be toast! Heh! Glad I finally had time to finish rereading! As much fun to read the second time!

Author's reply

Thank you, Bonnie! I'm going on holiday tomorrow, so won't be able to keep up with stories. Will pick up again afterwards!

Larner · 6 July 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

Ah--the infamous last words! Heh! Love the interval with Ioreth, and I fear she's all too rightabout Faramir! Heh!

Linda Hoyland · 4 July 2009 · Chapter 7: Sunday

Poor Eowyn, Aunt Ivriniel was indeed a tougher foe than the Witch King!Thank you for a delightful story. If I hadn't been beaten too it,I'd have nominated it for MEFA myself!

Author's reply

Thanks, I'm glad it pleased you.

Agape4Gondor · 3 July 2009 · Chapter 7: Sunday

Delightful - despite having to succumb, I really think Eowyn is the victor here - for does she not now have a wondrous husband, an aunt-in-law who surely loves her, and a king and queen who will, if she needs help, come to her aid. Loved this! Good luck with the MEFA's.

Author's reply

Thank you. I think in the long run, she'll prefer the sister-in-law to the aunt. ;-)

Elflingimp · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 7: Sunday

Dear Virtuella, today as I looked at the chapter list I was almost afraid to open the last one! LOL! The tension was built up just right way, I knew in my heart of hearts that old lady was going to win!. LOL! Hugs The Imp

Author's reply

Thanks, glad you've enjoyed this!

Fantasia · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 7: Sunday

Oh well! sometimes when the wedding is finished and you are trying to remember what happened, you realize that you have done a lot of things that you didn't planned in order to satisfy your parents wishes, the whole thing get out of your control and you end fulfilling all their dreams, not hardship at the end, you make them happy and you are happy too, because the only thing that really matters is that you marry the person that you love...

Author's reply

Thanks for your wise words! ;-)

Lying, sneaky, sentimental old witch! She knew just wich buttons to push didn't she and I bet she was the one who got Faramir to wear the Waistcoat of Doom! Beware Maiden Aunts! I am with Eowyn in burning the darn thing, heirloom or not! Lynda

Author's reply

Lying and sneaky maybe, but I was hoping to show that she did genuinely feel a great attachment to this project. But you're right, for this kind of dress there can be nothing but a flame thrower. ;-) Thank you!

Sunny · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 7: Sunday

I see that Éowyn would have brought in some goats after all - even if dealing with the dress would have upset their digestions. I am sure that once the honeymoon is over, Faramir and Éowyn will do their best to get their hands on their respective wedding outfits - and ceremoniously put them to the torch - just to finish the job Éowyn started.

Author's reply

Yes, that'll be a merry bonfire. Thank you!

Aearloth Lindir · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

Come on, Eowyn, you can manage one more day... I'm looking forward to what happens next, and whether Eowyn or the dress wins this stupendous battle!

Author's reply

Thanks, and there's no need to wonder any longer.

Linda Hoyland · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

I just love your Ioreth! it seems Faramir is a typical man where dresses are concerned!

Author's reply

Thanks, I'm glad you approve...

Raksha The Demon · 30 June 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

In my experience, most men do not have much interest in the finer points of wedding fashions. Though now I'm wondering what Faramir is going to wear...Looks like Eowyn is certainly getting her own back!

Author's reply

"now I'm wondering what Faramir is going to wear" Good point! Hehehehe.

VIcki_Turner · 30 June 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

I'm really enjoying this story. It's very cute. Keep Writing!

Author's reply

Oh, it's quite finished. One more chapter to go. ;-)

Fantasia · 30 June 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

Eowyn, that was too easy, I'm sure that you will have a nasty surprise before your wedding...You might have to use your sword arm after all...

Author's reply

The sword arm? Slaughter and in-law slaying in the citadel? Impossible!

6336 · 30 June 2009 · Chapter 6: Saturday

Eowyn, Eowyn, Eowyn (shakes head) do you really think it is going to be this easy? Look out for pot holes in the road, as I think Ivriniel has a big one lined up for you! (Pride comes etc,etc....) Eagerly waiting for more, Please, Lynda

Author's reply

One more to go!

Larner · 30 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

It WAS a valiant attempt, of course. Poor Aunt Ivriniel! Although the old lady DOES rally, doesn't she? Hee!

Author's reply

Well, you know, don't you? ;-)

Larner · 30 June 2009 · Chapter 4: Thursday

A most fitting dream, I must suppose! Heh! And Aunt Ivriniel reminds me of the aunt in Nanny McPhee!

Author's reply

I'm trying to remember the aunt in Nanny McPhee, but she escapes me. Will look it up.

Agape4Gondor · 29 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

I seem to be relegated to 'oh my's' by this tale - but that is waht my mind keeps thinking as I read.... Poor Eowyn - I somehow do not think she has won..... Oh my!

Author's reply

Oh my indeed. ;-)

Parmalokwen · 29 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

Huzzah! The evil dress has been vanquished! Brides of Stewards for generations to come shall rejoice on this day! Unless, of course, Ivriniel manages to repair it. But given how time consuming lace is to make, that will be quite difficult.

Author's reply

I'm not saying anything on this issue. ;-)

Linda Hoyland · 29 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

I doubt Aunt Ivriniel will give in so easily!I eagerly await what happens next.

Author's reply

I'm not saying anything on this issue. ;-)

Linda Hoyland · 29 June 2009 · Chapter 4: Thursday

Poor Eowynhaving to endure fittings of the dreadful hot dress. The Aunt is a real character!I'm sure the Witch King's ghost is laughing at his revenge!

Author's reply

I've never had any clothes tailor-made, but I imagine it would be really tedious in any case, and even more so in this one!

Elflingimp · 28 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

Oh! Dear, the dress is ruined LOL! Yeah! Hugs The Imp

Author's reply

Would you like scissors to cut it up a bit more? Hehehe.

6336 · 28 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

Silly girl, if Irvriniel does not have an extra length of the fabric lying around somewhere I will be surprised, either that or another equally hidious dress! More please, Lynda

Author's reply

I'm not saying anything on this issue. ;-)

BM · 28 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

*grins* Creative, I'll definitely say, but I wouldn't be claiming victory quiet yet. Ivriniel still has 2 days to come up with a way to fix it and it does, after all, have plenty of fabric available to do that!

Author's reply

I'm not saying anything on this issue. ;-)

Sunny · 28 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Friday

Well, when Éowyn saw her chance - or how the chance might be manufactured, she certainly didn't hesitate to use it. Good tactics! (And no need to inflict tummyache on any goats.) Oh, dear, indeed!

Author's reply

Yeah, though the goats would have been cool, too. ;-)
