This was a beautiful story! It bought tears to my eyes, for all the emotions that you managed to put in your words. All the happiness mixed with sadness, Aragorn and Arwen, Elrond and Celebrían and the House of Telcontar branching and fluorishing like a tree. Wonderful!
Author's reply
Thank you for your kind words, your review is really encouraging and flattering. I am glad you like the story. :)

Oh! This is so beautiful and touchd my heart in so many ways. It's hard to find words that seem appropriate for how this story made me feel. I loved the ideas of Eldarion drawing his mother, and that Arwen herself drew. I like to think she enjoyed somthing artistic like that. I also liked how you named the daughters after famous Numenorean women. As a big Numenorean fan I liked that detail a lot. :-D You did beautifully and I'm so deeply touched. Thank you for this. And I too hope you will write the reactions of Elrond and the others when the pictres reach Valinor. Just from reading this I know you could do it justice. Really well done!

Oh, thank you! Your kind review really touched me. I am glad you like the story so much. And you know what? Your wonderful review is one of those "unimportant" small things I mentioned in the story; it is not unimportant at all, it put a big smile on my face and made my day better. Once again - thank you!

Oh, this was just absolutely touching and beautiful! It was the perfect gift and, I think, totally in character for Arwen to come up with as a way to comfort her family in the Blessed Lands. Well done!
Author's reply
Aww, thank you! I am glad you think it is the perfect gift for her parents and glad that you like the story.

That was a wonderful tale and so heart warming, I have to wonder how Elrond and his wife will react when they get it across the sea, maybe a sequel????(hopes) Hugs The Imp
Author's reply
Oh, thank you for such kind words. *hug* Seems like I really have to consider the sequel seriously, don't I? :)

What a thoughtful gift! It wouldn't last forever, of course - like all meterial things. Elrond and Celebrian would see these sheets crumbling to dust, too, one day. But until then, they have this last message from their daughter. Immortality is a daunting concept indeed.
Author's reply
I hope that the gift will last a lot - perhaps even the ruining of material things goes more slowly in the Blessed Realm? I don't know. But I believe Elrond and Celebrian would be glad to receive this gift, and hopefully, it would be easier for them to wait until the final end and reunion. That will be a day of such joy for them! Thank you for your review!

I do not believe that the good professor did ever say how many, just "daughters". Every author has their own list. This is lovely! Made not only by her own hands, but children and grandchildren for as long as could be, right up to the day Legolas left. Was it Emerson who said that "things" are not really gifts, the best gift is a piece of ourselves? The description of walking through the palace with Legolas and feeling that the place was now empty reminded me of going to the house of my Grandmother, who died at age 94, after her death. Lots of relatives milling around, but still the house felt "empty"!
Author's reply
Yes, it is best to put a part of yourself into a gift. I mean, everybody can buy something, or have something done; but actually to create something, to put yourself into it... that is more special. And Arwen is also special, I believe, and she knows it too; that's why she made this gift. Thank you!

I, too, have pictures made and sent to the West via various ships. And this is so perfect--yes, it is the little things, the daily life, that tells the true story--and in this case the story if of love and joy! So true a gift for her to have wished her parents to have of her!
Author's reply
Yes, I also send pictures and little gifts to my long-distance friends (photos, though, not drawings; my drawings are like those of 6-year-olds *blush*). It is a great feeling to be in touch with the people you love, even though you are far away; Arwen knows it too. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

They'd see how much my little family made me happy. And that is what parents want most. What a lovely idea, and lovely story. I, too, would enjoy a companion piece from Elwing and Elrond's POV when Legolas and Gimli arrive.
Author's reply
I am not a parent, but I believe you're right - children's happiness is the most important for their parents. And I believe Arwen was really happy with Aragorn. Thank you for reading and reviewing! About the sequel... we'll see. :)
utfrog · 30 January 2010 · Chapter 0
Just lovely. Please write the companion piece in Valinor!
Author's reply
Thanks for the review, I am glad you like it. But the companion piece... I don't know for now, I have a feeling that it would be harder to write it than this one. I won't promise anything, but I'll try.
