I of course meant a wonderful Thanksgiving vignette, Linda, but being the woolly-headed wrote Halloween instead.

Estelcontar · 26 November 2010 · Chapter 3: The King's Blessings - Thanksgiving

A wonderful halloween vignette. Yes, Aragorn had much to be thankful for, and so had his people. He certainly deserved all his good fortune, and I do love to enjoy the glimpses of it we get in your one shots.

Yea, if any man has reason to give thanks, it has to be Aragorn son of Arathorn, the Hope fulfilled and the King Returned.

Author's reply

I love the thought that Gilraen could see Aragorn as king, at least in this moment of foresight, if not in reality. If only she could've seen him in Minas Tirith...

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I always wish that Gilraen had seen her son crowned too.

What a sweet and tender drabble. I just loved the portrait you painted of Aragorn as a loving grandfather.

Raksha The Demon · 2 March 2010 · Chapter 2: The Hope of Spring - Aragorn's Birthday

A lovely ficlet and great moments between mother and son. Aragorn as the harbinger of spring breaking the Dark Lord's winter works well as Gilraen's vision, since Aragorn is of course instrumental in Sauron's defeat and her visions would naturally have centered on her son rather than on a hobbit Ring-bearer.

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I pleased you liked my attempt to write about little Estel and his mother, fairly new territory for me.

That is a most exquisitely enchanting and tender vignette, Linda. I just loved the use you made of the imagery of the seasons to illustrate what Aragorn meant to Gilraen and his people. I loved Gilraen's flash of foresight too. I think it worked perfectly because it gave us a vivid glimpse of the man the loving child would turn into. Thank you very much for such a beatiful birthday present.
