Tari · 2 August 2011 · Chapter 91: Noldóran

Aren't we all to hard headed to see the forest for the trees, or something like that. Arafinwe now understands and will become the King he was meant to be. So happy that it finally happened. Three cheers for the Valar and especially Manwe for the wisdom he shared with Arafinwe.

Author's reply

Very true, Tari. Arafinwe took longer than the Valar had hoped to learn the lessons he needed to learn, but he is now in the position to become the king he was always meant to be. I'm sure the Valar are breathing great sighs of relief right about now. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

bookworm · 2 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

*cheers for Ingalaure* Although having said that it probably is a very good thing that he was stopped before he could do something more permament to Ingoldo. Can't wait to see how this all pans out (especially considering what must eventually happen to poor Ingalaure based on your other stories!)

Author's reply

Hi bookworm. Yes, it was a good thing Nornoros stopped Ingalaurë from going too far. And while the end for Ingalaurë isn't too far off, we know that he is eventually returned to Life and to his family and we have to hold on to that thought as this story continues to its climax. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so.

galathil · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

Oh another hang on your seat chapter! Well I didn't see that coming now the right elf is in charge things are going to get even more intersting, though don't how much more I can take.Friday is to long for the next chapter.LOL Galathil

Author's reply

Hi Galathil. Glad you found this an exciting chapter. At least you don't have to wait 4 months instead of just 4 days for the next chapter. Consider yourself fortunate. LOL! Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I really appreciate it.

Tari · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 90: Repairing the Damage

If only Arafinwe knew how deeply the Valar loved him and how desparately they were trying to help him. I hope Lord Irmo's plan works.

Author's reply

He will learn eventually, Tari. We will see how successful Lord Irmo's plan is in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Larner · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

Well, the fool had gone way to far. And there's no question he definitely deserves it, as does his equally foul unmentionable name of a wife!

Author's reply

They are both pieces of work, aren't they? *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing, Larner. I appreciate it very much.

Fantasia · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

They should do a trial right now, it is treason, not matter if the High King is there or not. I know that is worng, but I'm so happy for the trashing, GO Ingalaure, Go! And I like Nornoros more and more everyday.

Author's reply

Hi Fantasia. Well, there are other considerations right now, but never fear, a trial is definitely in Ingoldo's future. And I am glad you like Nornoros a lot. He's grown on me as well and I enjoy writing him as I enjoy writing all of the Maiar. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

6336 · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

You were right, Ratty does have a few nasty tricks up his sleeve, he has just played one and no doubt has still more. Well Ingalure is back in charge of the city, now things can start to get back to normal, or as normal as it can be with the loss of The Trees, he has more kingship in his little finger than Ratty has in his whole body! Now to figure out where Elindis and Indil are, maybe with Ingoldo under lock and key some of the palace servants will be willing to talk? I think Eonwe would have been a little upset at recording Ingalure's oath but he would underatand, he was probably cheering Ingalure on and will thank Nornoros for stopping it in time. Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. We will see how well Ingalaurë fares now that he is in charge and how he learns the whereabouts of Elindis and Indil. And you are probably right about Eönwë's reaction to Ingalaurë's oath. We will see how Nornoros fares for his interference in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Larner · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

Ah--good for both the Maia and for Ingalaure. Both did exactly the right thing. I believe Atar is most pleased with the two of them!

Author's reply

Yes, they did, Larner, and I'm sure Atar is pleased with the two of them as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Laikwalâssê · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

oh my, how often will he be bested by his oncle? When will he learn? Poor Ingalaurë, but it´s his own fault. He should have made sure himself to see to the release of his mother and sister. Now all is starting anew. I hope Ingoldo was not right with his threat "the King is dead". When your stories ends I´ve no finger-nails left. Thrilling chapter, as always. Thank you. Lai

Author's reply

Hi Lai. You're right that Ingalaurë shouldn't have let Ingoldo out of his sight but should have secured Elindis and Indil's release personally. Well, unfortunately that didn't happen and he and everyone will have to deal with the consequences as we will see. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate you doing so very much.

Sunny · 1 August 2011 · Chapter 96: Ingalaurë Takes Command

I wonder how the Chief Rat (and isn't calling him that an insult to every rodent?) likes it now that the shoe is on the other foot? Ingalaurë is certainly acting with dispatch here - good for him! And good for everyone else, too. But considering Ingoldo's scheming ways, I suspect his window of opportunity for hiding the ladies was bigger than Ingalaurë and his allies seem to think it was - it wouldn't surprise me if he hustled them off somewhere as soon as he had locked Ingalaurë away after the escape attempt, in order to use them to pressure Ingalaurë, and possibly Ingwë as well if he should escape. Though he could not have been thinking very clearly if that was his reasoning. Hopefully Ingoldo is quite shocked by Ingalaurë giving him a beating - though that is only a fair repayment for the beating Ingoldogave him. :grins evilly: Inglodo is obviously the kind of person who thinks being a King is wearing blingy headgear, presiding at the high table at feasts, and have everybody bowing and scraping to him. Ingalaurë and the council are on the other hand more interested in the welfare of the people, which Ingoldo does not seem to have given a thought at all. Lassezel seems to have had a change of heart with respect to Ingoldo. Let us ope it is real, and not one of Ingoldo's backup plans.

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. I doubt Ingoldo appreciated the beating any more than Ingalaurë appreciated his. You may be correct about Ingoldo's window of opportunity being wider than most suspect. Ingoldo is into power, but that is not what being king is all about. He would obviously fail Aslan's test for kingship. *grin* And obviously he didn't pass Oromë's test either. And Lassezel may be many things, as we see in "Elf, Interrupted", but his heart is in the right place when it comes to his duties as a noble of the realm. We'll be seeing how all this works out eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

obsidianj · 31 July 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

Finally, someone stood up to Ingoldo. I am especially happy that it is Ingalaure, even if he got a bit help from a Maia. I sure hope that one is not in too much trouble. It must have been very difficult for him to just stand by. So, what is Ingoldo up to now. I don't think he is beaten yet. He backed down too easily. He still has lots of guards around, and as we have seen in the beginning of the chapter, there are characters that only care for what they are paid. I hope someone gives Ingoldo something of his own medicine. Beating Ingalaure so calculated made me feel sick. By the way, shouldn't the title be "Ingalaure Alone" instead of "Ingaluare Alone" (sorry, I don't have the special characters)?

Author's reply

Hi obsidianj. I can't believe I didn't realize I'd misspelled Ingalaurë's name in the title. Thanks for pointing it out to me. Anyway, Ingoldo may be down but not out and we will see just how much power he still has in the next chapter and we will also see how much trouble Nornoros is in in the chapter after. As for Ingoldo getting his comeuppance, we'll see inn what form that takes as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

AzureSkye · 29 July 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

Hmm...I think Almariel has just become my new favorite OC. Certainly my favorite OFC....:) One smart ellith. I love the fact that the Maiar are just kinda taking things into their own hands to help out the elves. The Valar can say they're not showing favoritism, and the elves can still get the help they need. Ingalaure is doing an amazing job right now, but its sad to think its not going to last, and that he's going to die trying to do what he thinks is right. At least I assume thats how he dies, though I can't think its a Ingoldo's hands, or orders. He'd never be on any sort of terms with Ingwe if that was the case. Anyway, great chapter as always, and can't wait to see what character we'll be following Monday! We've had Intarion, Ingalaure, is the next chapter "Ingwion alone"?

Author's reply

Hi AzureSkye. Almáriel has many faults but she knows which way is up, as the saying goes. We'll be staying with Ingalaurë for a little bit longer before we check in with Ingwion. And we will eventually learn the manner in which Ingalaurë dies but that is still many chapters away. Thanks for letting me know much you enjoyed the chapter. I really appreciate it.

Tari · 29 July 2011 · Chapter 89: Unforging a Collar

Oh, dear. This does not look good for Arafinwe. His defiance may cost him dearly.

Author's reply

Hi Tari. Things look rather bleak for Arafinwë but there is light at the end of the tunne. We'll see what this little escapade costs him in the next couple of chapters. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Fantasia · 29 July 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

Hurrah! Well done! I was so tired of Ingoldo doing all his evil plans without opposition, I'm so happy for Ingalaurë! And so happy that the council supported him. Poor Ingalaurë, to be beaten by his own uncle in such a calculated way. I know that you have told me before, repeatedly, that time has passed since this event and EI, but I can't comprehend how Ingoldo was allowed to even being close to the royal family again. If Nornoros needs someone to intercede with Manwe to avoid punishment, I voluntary to do it, I can start collecting signatures or going in peregrinate to his throne, it was time that some Vala did something. I don't like the passive approach that the Valars are taking...I know, I know, but all the extremes are bad. Thanks Fiondil, as usual a great chapter.

Author's reply

Hi Fantasia. We will eventually see how Ingoldo is handled and what is crimes actually are and maybe you will then understand how he could be living in Vanyamar as he is in EI. And I'm sure Nornoros appreciates your kind offer to help defend him. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

6336 · 29 July 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

Woo! Hoo! Jumps up and down and Yells! Way to go Ingalure! Like most bullies, when you stand up to them they back off. The Rat may have had the upper hand for a bit but I think his time is swiftly fleeting! Ratty may still have a few tricks up his sleeve and pretty nasty ones if the end of E.I.11 is any thing to go by, but I think this is the begining of the end for him. Way to go Nornoros! You may end up cleaning out Aule's forges for a few Yen for 'inspiring' Ingalure to act, but I think you will think it worth while. Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. Don't count Ingoldo out, he is one who always has contingency plans for contingency plans, if you know what I mean. We'll be seeing how Nornoros is punished (if at all) shortly. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

galathil · 29 July 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

Oh boy tht was one tense council meeting, you had me on the edge of my seat.I am so glad that Ingalaurë stood up to his uncle,I hope the Ingwe comes back soon, very soon! As for Almáriel I can see why she is on the council.you don't want to make an emney of her.I hope that Nornoros dosen't get into to much trouble, for helping Ingalaure. Can't we use a rolling pin on Ingoldo put him in a cupboard until the end of the story? Just a thought. When is the next chapter?LOL Galathil.

Author's reply

Hi Galathil. I'm glad to know you found the council meeting scene tense. That was my intention as I wrote it. We'll see how much trouble Nornoros is in eventually, but he's probably not in as much trouble as he thinks. Anyway, I post this story every Monday and Friday, so you won't have long to wait for the next chapter. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

Laikwalâssê · 29 July 2011 · Chapter 95: Ingalaurë Alone

urrg! I want to punch Ingoldo too! I´m glad that Ingalaurë found the courage to stand against his uncle even if not entirerly of his own doing. What made me wonder was the easy relenting of Ingoldo. I had expected him to have some trump card behind his back to make the council back down at the last moment. We will see. Really good and thrilling chapter. Liked it very much. Lai

Author's reply

Hi Lai. Yeah, I'm sure lots of people want to punch the slimy toad. LOL! Don't count Ingoldo out, though. He may have lost this battle but not necessarily the war, as they say. He has more than one trump card to play yet as we will learn in the next chapter. Glad you found this chapter thrilling. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Tari · 26 July 2011 · Chapter 86: Arafinwë in the Chapel of Stars

You paint such an exquisite picture of the chapel that I felt a longing to be there myself. It is an experience that would change anyone who entered there for the better. I, for one, would greatly benefit from it as I know Arafinwe did. To be able to hear the Voice of Iluvatar in his head was the greatest blessing of all. I am sure he is now well on his way to becoming the Elf he was created to be.

Author's reply

Hi Tari. Thank you for letting me know how much you enjoyed this chapter. I really appreciate it. To be able to hear Atar's Voice is indeed a great blessing, though Arafinwe doesn't realize this yet. While he still has some way to go before he becomes the Elf Atar always meant for him to be, he is well on his way.

Fantasia · 25 July 2011 · Chapter 94: Intarion Alone

Fiondil, don't take this comment wrong, but I need to know what is happening soon!!! This suspense is killing me!!!!really, can you give us a preview? Thanks for posting.

Author's reply

LOL! I wish I could hurry this tale along, Fantasia, but alas, it's as long as it needs to be and it will take awhile to reach its conclusion. All I will say is that we will be seeing what has been happening with Ingalaurë and Ingoldo in the next few chapters and then we will get back to Ingwion's search for Ingwë and at that point we'll be pretty much caught up and back in the 'present' (what you're reading now is flasback)and the various threads will be almost woven together for the story's climax. Just be patient, please, and thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Larner · 25 July 2011 · Chapter 94: Intarion Alone

Well, WE at least know what Ingoldo has been up to, and Intarion is right to be concerned. Now--to see Arafinwe join with Ingwion to free Ingwe and to see Ingoldo get what's coming to him! Am looking forward to that.

Author's reply

Indeed we do, Larner, and Intarion will eventually find out for himself. We will actually be looking in on Ingalaure and Ingoldo in the next few chapters and then we'll touch base with Ingwion and at that point we will begin to bring all the threads of this story together and we'll see just what Ingoldo's fate is. I'm glad you're lookking forward to that. Thanks for letting me know and thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

Larner · 25 July 2011 · Chapter 93: Four Nissi and a Nér

I'm glad that he's finally apologized and that they are dealing with the changes now in a positive manner. Alas that Arafinwe struggled against things for as long as he did, but at least he's now getting back on the proper track, too. Love the look at little Herendil.

Author's reply

It is a pity that Arafinwe had to struggle as he did, but some of use are slower learners than others. *grin* But, at least, as you say, Larner, he's finally getting back on track. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Rhyselle · 25 July 2011 · Chapter 94: Intarion Alone

What touched me most in this chapter was how Intarion, by his insistance on staying at the inn,was a catalyst for the Noldor to start interacting publicly again. And he probably doesn'even realize it. :) I so look forward to each chapter of this tale! Well done, as always!

Author's reply

You're right, Rhyselle, he doesn't realize it, he simply assumes that the Noldor are finally getting their acts together and ceasing with their city-wide pity party and getting on with the business of getting on. Glad you are still enjoying this tale. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Tari · 25 July 2011 · Chapter 85: Rebellion

The plan is working. Good.

Author's reply

Indeed it is, Tari, and we will see just how well it works in the next few chapters. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

6336 · 25 July 2011 · Chapter 94: Intarion Alone

Well at least Intarion knows just how his father thinks and acts and will not be too surprised, shocked maybe, but not surprised when he returns and finds out what he has done. He may even be able to help find and release Ingwe. Tirion is starting to come back to life, in a situation like this you can either sit on your thumbe and do nothing or get on with life. Children still need feeding, animals need care and somebody has to clean the bath rooms! Earwen still keeps hoping that Arafinwe will be back soon, but it will be a while yet before he does. I like the idea that a Mair came and told Erawen that Arafinwe was apprenticed to Manwe for a while, no need to distress her with his actual circumstances. Now to wait for Olwe to arrive and for he and Earwen to go to Valmar and then for Intarion to go to Vanyamar and find out just what The Rat is up to! Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. I doubt Intarion will be surprised, but shocked and sadden, yes, that will certainly be what he will feel when he learns what his father has been up to, that an possibly guilt and even shame. And of course life does go on, as the Noldor are beginning to realize, and that in itself is a good thing and just what the Valar were hoping for. We will be checking in with Ingalaurë and "The Rat" with the next chapter. *grin* Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I really appreciate it.

obsidianj · 24 July 2011 · Chapter 93: Four Nissi and a Nér

So, now Intarion and Lirulin will also be separated. That does not bode well. I admit, I have forgotten what the time frame is in relation to the other threads. I will have to go back to figure it out. I know it will end well in the end, but until then it is a long wait...

Author's reply

Hi obsidianj. With Intarion and Lirulin we've gone quite aways back in time in terms of chronology. Manwë is explaining to Arafinwë all that has happened to others while he's been with the Valar and I've been rather vague as to the amount of time that has gone by since certain events mentioned in the Silmarillion and elsewhere in Tolkien's writings have to take place within a certain timeframe. At any rate, we will see what happens with Intarion and Lirulin and everyone else as the story progresses. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.
