These are all lovely. Love the kitten! the birds in the puddle, and the talk of the lake. The symbolism of the river and the sea is very poignant.
you know, the further along these are, chronologically, in Frodo's stay in the West, the more poetic they become. Whether that was intentional or not, I don't know, as your style always seems to have poetic undertones no matter what you write. But it's wonderful too, and goes along with the changes you describe in him in your other stories.

So glad to see that Frodo finally found his healing.
Author's reply
As am I to imagine that it did, indeed, come to him as he so desperately needed when he left the Mortal Lands.

Beautiful ending!
And that's how it should be: A reunion with all his dear friends, all sorrows gone and an eternity to spend with his loved ones.
Thank you very much!
Author's reply
And I'm very glad that the series has done so well in your eyes, Andrea. Yes, sorrows gone, a life lived to fulfillment, a heart and spirit cleansed and refilled, and now eternity to anticipate in delight. Thank you so very much!

· Chapter 8: Promise to the Departing
These are beautiful images of the sea! Even storms around Tol Eressea are a delight for Frodo.
Bilbo can leave his Frodo, now that he is truly healed and can be certain that he will see him again one day.

Really beautiful! Is that the last of it?
Author's reply
Yes, this is now the end of it. We were given five prompts to work with on Tolkien Weekly, and I've managed to add four more.
And I'm so glad you appreciate it, Armariel. Thank you so very much!

Hantanyel for this sweet gift! I have long wished for a present from you. :) Alas the muse did not come up with one to give to you all. This would be indeed be a joyful time for Frodo and Sam.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

You are very welcome, Antane. Thank you so very much!

· Chapter 8: Promise to the Departing
A sweet goodbye. I love what the Professor said in one of his letters that Frodo and Bilbo would be able to choose the time of their death, so of course Frodo would wait for his Sam! And I'm glad our dear knows that he will see his beloved Bilbo again.
Where is Judgement and Healing that you spoke of. I quickly glanced at your stories, perhaps too quickly because I didn't see that one.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Yes, peace has been granted both of them this time. I certainly hope that Frodo remained for Sam's arrival, so that's the way I've written it, and I am certain that one day all sundered by time and death will find their way to the Presence and know reunion with all they've loved.
"Judgement and Healing" is number 49 in "Moments in Time." You have read it before, but that's okay. I find myself responding to a story that moves me, and then realize that I've reviewed it before but that it had slipped my mind. I've even found myself reading a story and realizing, "Hey--I'm the one who wrote this!" Usually I appreciate it, but once in a while I find myself embarrassed....

· Chapter 7: Tears of Healing
It was good to weep out all of the griefs
Wonderfully said!
To Frodo Nienna's "gift" might very well be the most important of all. She gave him back the ability to weep and thus get rid of all his grief - healing indeed!
Thank you!
Author's reply
He's now regaining the ability to feel fully again, and to deal with those feelings appropriately. And we do need to let our pains go, as he can finally do.
And thank you so, Andrea!

What a wonderful chapter, surrounded by such loving care! I love Nienna's TLC the most. In fact I love this so much, I'm going to post it on my 'cheerful' blog (http://choosethelight.blogspot.com) because it's so neat! Hope you don't mind. I will credit you, of course. I would love to see this expanded.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

No, I don't mind at all. And this is inspired by my longer story "Judgement and Healing." Am glad you enjoyed this drabble. Thanks so, Antane!

"Not all tears are an evil!"....Lovely Larner.
Author's reply
No, in this case they were signs of a great good as what remained of the taint of the Ring was washed away, as well as the great scar on Frodo's spirit left by Its effects on him being loosened and him finding that once again he can begin to live fully again.
Thanks so very much, Harrowcat!

· Chapter 7: Tears of Healing
For the Powers to allow Frodo and Bilbo to sail West, they must have taken very good care of them once they arrived. For Bilbo to live long enough to see his lad healed is lovely.
Author's reply
I really don't believe that Bilbo would have gone on until he was pretty certain that Frodo was indeed on the road to recovery himself. And I strongly suspect that indeed the Valar took a personal interest in seeing Frodo find his own peace. After all, they've not had a good deal of face-to-face experience with mortals as yet--he must be fascinating to them.

· Chapter 6: The Lake
Antane, what a great observation!
I never connected the death of Frodo's parents, with his saving Sam from drowning at that point in time.
Amazing, that Frodo can talk so calmly about it now. It is good to see him healing.
Author's reply
Oh, yes, I am convinced that Frodo's indeed actively healing, finding more and more to appreciate each day. Thanks so, and thanks so for yesterday. And glad Zoe's doing well at the moment!

· Chapter 6: The Lake
I think that must have been a terrifying time for Frodo, watching Sam, knowing his parents met the same end. I love the way they show it in the movie, especially the wide shot of them in the middle of the lake, in great danger because of the great amount of enemies around, but all they care about at that moment is holding each other. So wonderfully done! Cheers for hobbity love!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
I'd not thought of watching what was happening with Sam in terms of Primula and Drogo, either; a wonderful catch there, Antane! And in this case, Life won! Thanks so, Antane!

I think Frodo is very right here.
But since he lets follow those rather sad words a brilliant smile, we know that his healing has already made good progress.

· Chapter 4: Who Wishes for Fountains?
Oh, these are delightful, Larner! We can rejoice in the healing of Frodo, and the love and companionship he receives from his dear "Uncle" Bilbo.
My favorite is the last one; I have always been unduly fascinated by the waterfalls at Rivendell, and I love seeing that Elrond and Celebrían have found someplace to dwell that reminds them of it. (And the twins, when they eventually arrive, at least in my 'verse.) I can see the site in my mind's eye, as you describe it so beautifully! I wonder if the Valar schemed, er, collaborated to create it for them, as a reward for staving off Darkness for so long?
These brighten my day, Larner... thank you for sharing them!
- Barbara
Author's reply
Am so glad that you're enjoying them. I suspect that Bilbo remained with Frodo at least until he was certain that Frodo was indeed beginning to recover his ability to appreciate joy and beauty once more. I was amazed by the vision of Rivendell created by PJ's folk, and laughed at the commentary as they described how they couldn't seem to limit how many waterfalls they had pouring into the valley.
I'm certain that the Valar would have wanted to offer Elrond as beautiful a spot as possible to live once he was there within the Undying Lands.
And thank you for your lovely comments!

Who indeed?
Then again, it's rather hard to place a busty marble statue of a nude lady holding up a large mouth bass with water pouring out of it, and six fat little cherubs frolicking all around, in a waterfall...........
Author's reply
You have me laughing at this one, Armariel! Although I usually imagine her holding that blasted pitcher that never seems to empty, no matter how much she spills out of it! Heh!
Thanks for the giggle!
